This place is definitely a sac legend. I’ve been eating here since I was 3 years old and I’m 25 now and the quality is as good as ever. Unfortunately I I went in to eat there today and the restaurant is closed. It’s so sad to see such a great restaurant close its doors…

Awesome food been visiting for past 20 years. Tried to visit tonight but closed down tight. Sign on the window says restaurant is «moving» and gives some website address. Site doesn’t appear to be up and running :(

I have been coming here for almost 15 years now, ever since I was a little kid. My family would come here almost every Friday for dinner, and now that I’m older and moved out, I bring my boyfriend and my friends here all the time. It’s a joke my family has that if you don’t like Mongolian, odds are we won’t like you! Lol. This place is the best Mongolian BBQ around. I’ve tried a few others around and they don’t compare. It’s funny when people say that it doesn’t taste good because you make the bowl yourself. I’m assuming those that say it isn’t good, just aren’t good cooks at home either. You have to test different flavor combinations until you finally find the one that works for you, but once you do, you’ll never doubt this place again. The cream cheese wontons are my favorite and the waitresses always bring me an extra plate when I come in :) The waitresses are nice to you if you are nice to them. The older guy sucks at cooking but I always just let people cut me so I don’t get stuck with him, and if I see that I will get him I’ll put a lot of extra sauce in my bowl and tell him no water. The other cooks are great though! Also, you can’t put 3 – 4 scoops of sauce and expect that to be enough to make it taste good, it’s just not enough. You need to get a pretty good amount because it does cook away and some gets lost when they move it around. Overall though I love this place and will continue to come here until they are out of business. I can’t wait to see where they move to.

I could eat here everyday for the rest of my life. I have been to other Mongolian places and NONE of them compare to Great Wall. They have so many different choices to add to your meal and quite a few selections of sauces. Depending on when you go in, I love that there is soup, rice, bread, egg rolls or rangoons waiting for you when you get back to your table, plus water. They are super fast at getting you a drink of you’d prefer something other than water and they are constantly checking on you to make sure you are enjoying your meal. The ONLY reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because they still only accept cash. Most of the time I’m totally willing to go by the bank before I go and eat, but there are days I don’t have time and just want to be able to pay quickly with my card.

Worst egg flour soup I’ve ever had in my life(they should call it onion soup). But you don’t go for the soup. Went in about 8pm and there was 1 guy cooking and about 15 ppl waiting in line. Another guy frantically running around opening cans of vegetables to add to the buffet area. Another guy just walking around doing nothing! Took about 30 minutes to actually get through the line for my food to be cooked. I had put more than enough sauce in my bowl(it wasn’t my first rodeo) but the guy just drenched my food in water! So I basically had no flavor on my food, nor did my 2 friends with me. This was my first and last visit here. Not worth the $ 15 for dinner.

I’ve been driving by this places for decades. Yes, I did say«Decades.» Finally I planned an exclusive outing with one of my sons to try this place out. Sure enough it was friendly and the Mongolian BBQ was one of the best. You have to know what to try and what to add to your bowl before it’s but on the wok to get a great plate to eat. So there we were being adventurous and it paid off nicely. I tried three scoops of Teriyaki sauce, three scoops of house special sauce, oil, a lot of garlic and a dash of soy sauce before handing over my bowl I put a couple of shakes of oregano flakes on the mixture of noodles, meats and vegs. The fried rice that comes with it isn’t something you want to try, the soup is better than you would think it could be. Take a small bowl of the chili pasta and dip your egg roll in it to eat. The pasta helps with the Mongolian BBQ also.

I no longer live in the area and every time I come back, I have to stop here. With that being said, there are certain expectations you should not have coming here. This place is NOT fancy in either décor or service and is a self-serve AYCE(for dinner) Mongolian BBQ place. Great Wall is also CASHONLY so be prepared! It is a very basic restaurant that won’t impress people, but the food is always yum. Your meal comes with an array of appetizers including fried rice, soup and some wontons and other cracker and bun type starters. After that, you go down the self-serve bar and make your own bowl of noodles. The ingredients are pretty fresh and they give you quite a few options for toppings and sauces. Unlike other Mongolian places I’ve been to, Great Wall’s noodles are always really fresh and taste good when mixed in sauces.

Why did I waste my money on this place?! There are so many more restaurants in this area that one can choose and enjoy a much better meal. This place looks gross and«old» when you walk in and that should have been a immediately signal to turn around. The noodles have no flavor even with my 10+ scoops of sauces. Definitely will not be going back, ever.

Love coming here for dinner! Reasonably priced. Great food & all-you-can-eat! It’s about $ 11 per person and you can have as many bowls as you please! They have a large selection of meats, veggies, toppings, and sauces. They also bring you a basket of crab wontons, wonton strips, and a bowl of rice and soup. All very tasty. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because sometimes the service isn’t very great & one of the servers, which I think may be the owner, can be kind of rude but whatever. Foods great ! Also, they only accept cash which can be a pain every once in awhile. Overall, great cheap quick dinner

Fresh veggies, good meats. Sauce station is watered down, but that’s normal. One lady, who I assume is the owner, is not very nice. The saving grace is the sweet Latina lady who helps with drinks and such. Pretty standard Mongolian barbecue. Happy it’s near me house.

Ive come to this restaurant multiple times in the past few years with friends. The process is very simple, you get your own bowl, fill it with meat and veggies and they cook it for you, infront of you. Both lunch and dinner include multiple complimentary side-dishes such as soup and rice which I find to be mediocre at most. Their wontons on the other hand are pretty good. Downside is they only take cash-only. Service varies here, as ive had both good and bad experiences here from servers/staff. Parking is inside a plaza, so it is not hard to obtain!

I’ve heard great things about this place, how delicious it is, how long this has been here in the plaza. I went ahead and check out this place with my coworkers, they offered appetizers like fried rice, fried wontons, and veggies, then you go up and pick your ingredients bar and make your Mongolian Bar-B-Q. I honestly ate the food and wasn’t a big fan. Later that night, i went back again because my friend wanted to try it out after I told her about Mongolian Bar-B-Q(she’s a big fan of this style of cuisine) She wasn’t a fan either. I wouldn’t go back. Bring cash, because its cash only. Check this place out to see if you’ll like it.

Went in tonight hoping for the same awesome service. Sadly it was horrible. The floor was a mess, the counter was drenched in different sauces and vegetables everywhere. Later after a brand new customer comes in and learns how to create a bowl… The chef had them get more ingredients. One of the older waitresses yelled at the chef«no they get one bowl!» The customer informed them of what the chef asked and there was some arguing. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this woman do this. She is repeatedly rude to customers, asked«where is her tip», and fails to acknowledge if you need refills or not. If you can avoid going when she’s working then you will have a decent time.

Very solid mongolian BBQ option during a time when mongolian BBQ has become rare and hard to find in most cities aside from an add on to Chinese buffets or commercialized places like BD’s and Stir Crazy. I grew up with an amazing Chinese restaurant that had mongolian BBQ and it is still my favorite dining memory. While Great Wall does not come close to the Florida restaurant of my childhood, it does offer all the standard offerings one would hope to find. They cover the meats, which I appreciate since so many places just leave the raw meat open. The veggie options are all the basic offerings and most are relatively fresh. And the sauce options are also pretty solid, though I would like to see a sambal olek or chili garlic option. Also it would be nice to see shrimp added as an option and a less pathetic looking tofu. All in all, this place is a quick get in and get out cash only establishment but it gets the job done for a mongolian BBQ craving. Included in the all you can eat BBQ is egg drop soup, fried rice, and a basket of crab rangoons and other fried goodies. I recommend ignoring all of these. The soup and rangoons are terrible and I’d rather save room in my stomach for a second trip through the BBQ line.

This place was alright I still prefer the Mongolian BBQ near the natomas center. The reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because the place overall was kinda dirty, when I came in and made my bowl, they were out of the house special sauce and I had to ask and wait a few minutes before it was brought out. The side dishes that they brought out was absolutely the most bland fried rice and egg roll I’ve ever had. Not to mention the egg roll was more oily then crunchy(veggie roll). The rice looked like it was cooked with imitation bbq pork meat, and the soup looked like they dumped a whole bowl of starch into it(thick like nectar juice) not how I like my tofu soup. I’m hoping this was an isolated experience. Other than that the food that was cooked was delicious the cook did cook it thoroughly and the recommended sauce to add was tasty. However, because of the dirtiness of the restaurant and the side dishes and non stocked food at the food stations I don’t think I will be coming back here. Also this place is CASHONLY.

Absolutely love this place! I could eat here every day probably… one of the best AYCE places!!! It’s a small place, with several tables, but you gotta wait for a few minutes during dinner time(in my experience) for people to leave so you can get a table. But the wait is soooooo worth it! You will definitely smell like BBQ once you leave this place, so wear your bummy clothes if you don’t care what you look like in public LOL. How it works: usually the nice little Asian woman lets you go grab your food as she’s cleaning your table. So you get a bowl, put whatever meat you want and however much you want in it, noodles, veggies, and sauces. They offer pork, turkey, lamb, beef, and chicken… pretty sure I didn’t leave any meat choices out. GETTHELAMB. I know it smells like a freakin’ fresh alive lamb but it’s soooooooo good. I’d marry lamb. LOL recently when I came here, this dude was pounding down the meat with his fist – that’s so smart! Because you get a kinda small bowl… and you wanna try to get as much as you can in it. The meat are rolled up too, so yeah try to smash them down with your fists or the tongs that are provided. I’m not really a veggie person(I know, I know. I should be eating my vegetables… whatevs.) but I do love their water chestnuts! GETTHOSETOO. They’re like cucumbers but better. And as for their sauces, they have several: special house sauce, sweet n sour I think, teriyaki, hot sauce, etc. I usually put a bit of all sauces. There’s also wine, oil, vinegar, dill, oregano, etc for seasoning :-) Definitely put the garlic on there too! Unless you don’t like garlic… but whatever just get it bc it’ll keep the vampires away PLUS it smells amazeballs with your food! Ok so after you’re done putting everything you want, there’s usually two chefs at the end who take your bowl and like dump your food on this huge cooking round thingy and they just rotate around until your food’s done cooking. They do splash water on it too… not sure if that really takes away flavor, maybe, but my food’s always been great and not dry at all. — They only accept cash! — They give you side dishes too: soup, fried rice, and those cream cheese wonton things. And of course you get some fortune cookies afterward. *Like most AYCE places, you don’t get a box to take home whatever you haven’t finished. BUT, if you are still on your first bowl, you’re allowed to take it home in a box. But if you’re like on your second bowl and so on, you can’t. I just wanna take a container and sneak my food home someday… LOL.* I’ve been here a couple times and will for sure be back!
