I went in for a beer before my next class started at 6pm I was greeted right away and helped as soon as i walked in the door. However as I sat there drinking my beer and looking at my phone(mostly for educational purposes) I got the feeling or vibe that I wasn’t their usual type of patron(younger/student), or maybe it was just weird that I didn’t order any food. Either way it was a nice beer, and it’s definitely a nice change for the land park area.

Coffee, burgers and beer; my holy grail. I love this place. I was missing so much the old Café that used to be in this location. I am so happy that they open this fantastic place at this same location.

Had the breakfast sliders with egg and country potatoes and an oj before participating in the Martin Luther King march. Amazing portions and the burgers were soooooo good. Looking forward to a return visit to help them loosen up all those wonderful beer handles.

Is there a way I can rate 3 ½ stars? So my friends and I ate here for the first time and I was blown away by the food menu. The price was about right for the food they cooked, all looked delicious by the way! Due to the hour break we had before our next class, we only got a side of garlic fries and nacho plate chips with meat. Portions were a good size for four people! I do plan on making more trips for food to try more on their menu! The way the restaurant looks, it fits the environment around the neighborhood and honestly looks good. It’s a small place, but can fit more tables than you think.

Decided to check out this fairly new eatery on Freeport Blvd assuming it must be great because it’s always packed. Location is nice, parking was adequate. Roomy and warm restaurant, with fairly basic décor. Service and staff were excellent with a nice variety of menu items, both to eat, at the café and bar. I enjoyed a wonderful Mocha in a fancy ass mug. Food looked wonderful but tasted for the most part mediocre. Nachos were standard, cheese and house made chips with lots of decorations of sprouts and some other vegetation. My burger well designed but a bit bland, ordered it medium, it was delivered well done. Fries were clumped together on both and my dates plates but tasted ok. the chicken sandwich was also standard not any better than a fast food chicken sandwich. All in all a good experience, just nothing to go raving about. I’d suggest it as a good spot to hang at on a sunny Sunday afternoon but just not great enough to go running back so soon.

Ok, so here’s the thing. The Restaurant has a great vibe, and Tree(the server we had) was on point. She was super friendly and kept up on our table with no problem. The food that’s listed on the menu itself is great too. This issue is what they actually brought to the table. The lamb burger I can forgive, because it may not have been the cook’s fault. The burger was not medium rare or even medium. Some parts were medium, but it cooked incredibly unevenly and some parts were overdone and totally dry. The fries(garlic parmesan) had great flavor, but were pretty much cold when they got to us. The garlic chili broccoli was the biggest letdown though. Steamed, not fried or sauteed with garlic, just steamed broccoli, with chunks of raw garlic and(worst of all) minced garlic paste. The junk you find at the dollar store because even Walmart customers know it is the cheapest form of garlic. Also, no chili. Anywhere. Maybe there was one flake in there and I missed it, I don’t know. They need to cook the garlic with the broccoli and chili oil in a pan or something. Not that mess. The beard hair in the bottom probably is what really broke the deal for me though. All in all, I’ll still come back. They are a young restaurant and their recipes are decent, and the service was great. They just need some work in the kitchen, and they need to start caring about the food they provide. It IS noticed when you do things like use Sirracha and pretend it is a fancy chili ginger sauce, or use garlic paste and raw garlic in a dish that should be seasoned with quality fresh garlic and cooked. The kitchen needs some major adjustments. Hopefully the owners take this to heart and raise the food to the standards that their prices imply.

I was super hungry and naturally, due to my carnivorous ways, I craved a juicy slab of beef between a couple of buns, A.K.A a hamburger. I decided to check out Meet & Eat. After gazing at their Burger menu, and with the realization that I can’t have one of everything, I ordered the Sunshine Burger. Thing is I like a burger to be grilled medium rare. I have recently learned that medium rare comes with a spectrum of interpretations. With that said, and according to my friend Joe K, I described what I was looking for to the waiter.(Thank you Joe K for explaining how to order by description by the way.) I requested that when a fork is pressed on the cooked patty I might see red streaks running through the clear meat the juices. Then I crossed my fingers and waited to see what was served up. Behold my made precisely to order bom-a-li-scious Sunshine burger y’all. The chef at Meet & Eat got it right. The Sunshine burger is made with 100% Harris Ranch beef, smoked bacon, fresh baby spinach greens, aged white cheddar, and a beautiful fried egg on top. I felt like I hit the hamburger lottery as thus burger is enormous. I was duly challenged with completing this lovely display of mouth watering beef and all its delictable trimmings. You’ve gotta try this place, Salud!

I was thrilled to finally try Meet & Eat; it’s been packed like they give away free cash since they opened, but we found a slow afternoon to sneak in. The interior is modern, clean and bright. The staff was friendly and the bartender swapped jokes and stories with us. The menu had some intriguing options and the beer menu even more so. So far, so good. I ordered a sampler flight of dark and lovely beers — I highly recommend the Chocolate Sombrero but be warned it has an ABV that is not for lightweights!- and we shared the garlic & chili broccoli appetizer and the nachos. The food came out quick(less than 10 minutes) and tasted spectacular. I don’t usually like broccoli but it was very fresh and had a subtle kick of flavor that made it great. In summation, had a great time at Meet(ing the cool staff) & Eat(ing their delicious food). We’ll be back!

Came here when waiting for the student center to get back to me for a meeting. When I first came in and sat down I was greeted and given exceptionally great service from Ben.(and no I am not talking in the 3rd person my friends & family who read this too) Anyways, I was hungry and decided on ordering a delicious Blue Note burger well done.(The idea of Blue Note made me think of the famous jazz label) Ordered it without blue cheese replacing it with cheddar cause I simply was in the mood for it more. I loved that the burger already came with jalapeños. Usually I have to add it on as an extra condiment and been to some venues where they give me the jalapeño on the side and it’s just not the same. Very delicious burger along with shoestring fries. I love. the décor, the vibe, the food, service, and most of all that something has come back to the Land Park neighborhood after the way the old Crêpe Escape closed down I look forward to my next visit here definitely to bring my wife and son hopefully for many years to come. 3 cheers for Meet & Eat or 5 stars!

On a cold, rainy Sacramento day, my Dad and I decided to give this new spot a try. We went in for lunch and were seated in a cozy booth right away. First off, the interior designing and layout of Meet & Eat is spot on! Props to whoever decorated this new eatery. It’s very trendy and modern — the lighting is great and the color scheme is cozy. Enough about the building — the food. I ordered the tuna melt and my Dad ordered the chicken club. Both sandwiches were large portions and filling. My tuna melt was delicious — fresh tomato and avocado complementing the tuna, provolone, and thick sourdough. My Dad said his chicken club was delicious and the chicken was juicy. The handcut fries our sandwiches were served with were tasty and perfectly crisp. Our server was attentive and friendly. Both my Dad and I agreed we’d enjoy coming back to this trendy new spot.

This a neat place with nice décor(the chairs are too loud and heavy when moved around though). The staff was friendly when I came here on a Saturday afternoon with a large party. I ordered the cheeseburger with pepperjack cheese and my husband had the Sunny burger. Nothing special with the cheeseburger but the fries were very crispy and delicious(a little over salted though). We also had nachos but they were pretty plain. The other reviews were right about the philly sandwich because my cousin had it… too much bread and not enough meat. Food and atmosphere weren’t bad but it was a bit pricey.

Over all I like this place, but there are some things that need improvement. Service: Service here is excellent. My water cup was always full and I was checked on a good basis. They made a mistake with my order [Server accidentally paid another bill on my card], they weren’t able to refund it, but it was the amount I would of paid with tip. Food: They serve temple coffee here, and coke products. They have a spot for beer taps to go in. I ordered the chicken sandwich and It was very tasty, but the bread got a little soggy. My only other complaint is that the french fries were a bit too small. Other than that the flavors were good and I think it’s a nice addition to the neighborhood.

I went to go try out the new restaurant Meet & Eat in the location formerly a Crêpe restaurant, and just recently uninhabited for about a few years. The décor is clean, fresh, open and slightly industrial with lightwood tables, open seating, and metal chairs. We were greet promptly by the hostess and seated in a comfy booth against the window. Our server was friendly, efficient and helpful, yet not overbearing. We were trying to decide on two choices of burgers, the Blue Note, and the Western Burger and he recommended the Blue Note Burger. He even said to try it out and i we didn’t like it, he would bring us the other one! So we decided on the Blue Note and it did not disappoint! It had thick sliced bacon, arugula, gorgonzola cheese, tomato, onion. the burger was cooked perfectly with a nice sesame bun, and fries. We wanted the Garlic Parmesan fries, and we asked to upgrade the fries to those and he did. Our next item was the Pork Belly Tacos. I wasn’t sure what to expect but when they came, they were excellent as well. The pork belly was shredded, like carnitas style, but was cooked to have a crispy finish and was very flavorful. There were also mixed greens, radishes, vinegar slaw, cilantro, and a creamy jalapeño sauce, accompanied by a side of spicy avocado salsa. I was expecting the sauce and side to be too spicy, but it was more on the mild side and very flavorful. I could not squeeze the taco into my mouth as it was so large, so I had to resort to the side head tilt and stuff in method. I’m not sure where the prior comments about the lack of service were coming from, but our service was on point, and the place was packed. It seems that they have gotten that figured out. Drinks were just ok. We had Water. They currently do not serve alcohol as they are awaiting their license. This will be the 7th day in a row without alcohol. Bummer. Looking forward to sitting on their patio and having a few drinks and exploring the rest of the menu.

*Nice modern feel to the space inside. There’s a covered patio area with heat lamps as well. *Food is good, not great. Few vegetarian options. They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner. *Service has had some kinks on both of my visits, but they’re working on it. Grilled fish tacos weren’t bad but were a little stingy on the fish. Chunky fresh guacamole & interesting salsa. *If they can get the service aspect down, step up the food a little bit, and get their liquor license, this’ll be a hot spot.

Nachos were very small. Chicken breast burger was amazing. Fries taste exactly like in n out. My friends did not have much of an opinion on their food. Its hit or miss I have been told by few. The ranch is awful! Took over 30 minutes for us to get our food! Server was nice, but somewhat forgetful. Kind of small inside. Has a patio about same size as indoors. They are trying to get their liquor license… overall, decent food, but way overpriced.

Came here later in the evening to _not_eat. So I met up with some people and didn’t eat. As we were on the prowl for some booze and this place is still void of a liquor license, my stay here didn’t last long. The food looked good, so maybe I’ll return for it. But my drink experience here ended with an Orange Crush.(pun not intended)

Had brunch on Meet & Eat’s fourth day open. This restaurant is owned by the same family as Café Dantorels, and has a similar up-scale to mid-scale feel. The servers were trying their best; the place’s remodel looked great. The patio now has roll-up doors like Suzy Burger for warm summer days. The décor was Spartan and tasteful. Our server was super attentive and pleasant to talk with — a better sense of humor than almost any server I’ve had down-town. Some bugs were still being worked out — the music volume switched from quiet to blaring 2 – 3 times while we ate. On weekends breakfast goes until 3 pm or so, but we ordered off the lunch/dinner side. The menu is somewhat short, and unfortunately has a few less than savory choices like pork-belly. Not a bunch of healthy options, but a few that seemed good. The sliders were crazy over-priced, go to Easy-On-I and have six for the price of three of M&E’s. I had the salmon burger. It was very bland. I asked for some hot sauce or salsa and the waiter brought out tabasco, ketchup, and a cup of their salsa — nice — I had theirs and it improved the burger tremendously. My fries were very cold. I should have sent them back, but didn’t want the wait and the hassle. The plain coffee was very good, and my partner had an excellent latte. She ordered the mushroom burger with a chicken breast substitution, and they were happy to do it. Her sandwich and salad were both very good. There’s a large number of taps they’ll have open soon, promising to have several local micros and other craft beers. I need to come back and try them out again, good effort for a brand-new restaurant.

Meet & Eat is a five star experience and I am so excited to have a clean, contemporary, classy place to eat that isn’t covered in televisions and screaming patrons. Meet & Eat provides a great atmosphere for an affordable price and fills a void that has been empty for some time. Sure, the service could use some work but overall everyone was friendly and I’m sure the kinks will be worked out very soon. My spicy chicken salad was delicious. Packed with veggies, chicken, peanuts, bean sprouts, perfectly cooked noodles and a nice tart dressing. Excellent. The garlic bread on the side was a great touch as well. I had an iced tea which tasted freshly brewed. The music was great. Some classy jazz jams, dimly lit lights, candles everywhere and lovely décor. I hope Meet & Eat continues to go forth and prosper, I’m making myself a regular.

We decided to try out this new joint in our neighborhood, is where the old crêpe place used to be on Freeport Boulevard, and is run by the people who own Café Dantorels. First impressions are extremely important when trying a new place… And unfortunately it was not that wonderful. It is an nice industrial space with a bar, open kitchen, tables and booths. You sit down and someone brings you a menu. They bring you your coffee, they count out your sugars or Splenda’s. They bring you a tiny glass of cream or milk. The menu is incredibly limited for breakfast, although it is temple coffee. First impression, annoyed staff when I ask for milk for my coffee. Second impression, why can’t I have more sugar, Splenda or milk? Are they trying to limit my consumption? Or is this simply a ploy to be «classy»? We ordered the cheese omelette with a side of sausage, and the breakfast tacos with eggs and salmon. They brought me breakfast tacos with eggs and bacon inside. Weird. The server claimed it was a computer glitch. OK. Whatever you say. Was there also a glitch when you brought bacon when the SO ordered sausage? Spotty Wi-Fi. Limited breakfast. Coffee they closely monitor. Annoyed and slightly off putting staff. We paid our bill and the server gave us the wrong change. I really do not chalk this up to growing pains. This is a restaurant that is owned by those who know how to run a great café, many of the staff come from their other establishment. The food was average although plentiful so I give them one star for that. Execution of the plates were sloppy and poorly put together. If this was a diner and the prices were lower that would be expected but not for what they charge. Another star for the location. One more for the kind server who was able to get me the right meal and actually brought me a refill, even though we were not his table. Last impression, this is an OK place. I really truly wanted it to be spectacular. It is in my hood and we would love to have a place that we can come and hang out. Oh well, we may try it again after few months to see if it improves.

My 10th Grand Opening review! After I headed back to Sacramento from Davis, I decided to dine in at this new local restaurant named, «Meet and Eat» on 11/11/2015. This restaurant from the Curtis Park neighborhood near Sacramento City College delivers the most remarkable meals from sandwiches to burgers especially salads too plus fine drinks from beer/wine to coffee! As I entered their doors thanks to the soft opening celebration, this place is relaxing and comforting as I welcomed there. The concept is very contemporary design with the vintage materials on it. Additionally, the outdoor patio is amazing to dine, so you can enjoy the peaceful weather anytime, anywhere; hot or cold. The employees are very friendly and supportive for the customer like me. No cons at all! Now onto the food entrée! As the night still young and ready, I ordered the«Freeport Chicken Club» with«Half Greek» salad as a side. So far, that sandwich is totally outstanding! It baked very well and tasted very good as I take my first bite. The chicken breast seasoned and cooked perfectly as well as bacon too. The rest of the ingredients are simply delicious to eat. The«Half Greek» salad on the other hand, tasted not that bad at all. It has the Greek flavors on it just like tasting a vinaigrette sauce. The salad is clean and fresh, so I can eat it entirely. What a great sandwich dinner for me! There’s a free secured wi-fi available, so you can connect to the internet safe and sound. The parking can be hard to park. You can park it at their parking lot especially the 1 hour limit parking lot too. Otherwise, you can walk, ride a bike, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. All in all, Meet and Eat is the coolest, and the newest local restaurant that I’ve experienced it for the first time! Perfect for friends and family gatherings day and night. A well, worthy visit! My rating: 5 solid stars!
