Walked in 9:30 on a friday morning, ordered biscuits and gravy to go, was in and out in 8 minutes with a big breakfast. Perfect meal for after a night of drinking. Only problem is their phone is off. Other than that this place is great.

Nice lil«old school» restaurant off K &21st. Walking up to the door, there’s a huge sign that says«CASHONLY» & the menu taped on the window, so there’s that. Nice & quaint setup w/comfortable bar seats. The waitress was friendly and prompt with her service, though there was only a few customers aside from myself. I ordered a #15 w/strawberries & the portion was more than I expected, especially since majority of places these days jack up prices w/meh quality food. The French toast was huge & the strawberries were nice & crunchy and added flava & texture to the toast. The eggs & bacon were good, however, in my opinion, the eggs were the better of the two. For me, the French toast was lacking because it didn’t have much flava by itself. I think some cinnamon or preferred spice would’ve added depth to the toast & given it that kick. Anyway, overall the meal was great & I will definitely be going back to try some other menu items.

Lucky Café was a divey cute place with great breakfast. My wife didn’t want to go to a breakfast place where there was a wait and a crowd like a Bacon and Butter or Orphan Breakfast House. Plus after reading the reviews it sounded like a place worth checking out. Parking was available right in front when we got there. We walked in and the place only had a few customers at 7:30am. We were seated right away in a booth by a young lady. My wife asked for coffee and I asked for plain iced water. The young lady came back right away with our drinks and asked us if we were ready to order. I told her we’ll take two #8’s which consist of two eggs and 8oz hamburger patty and hash browns or 3 pancakes. Diana went with the hash browns and I went with the buttermilk pancakes and our patties medium well. In less than ten minutes she came back with our breakfast and dropped them off to our table. I first eyeballed my wife’s hash browns bc they looked golden brown and crispy. She looked back at me and said«Don’t worry big boy I’ll give most of this to you,» and I smiled. I was also willing to share one of my pancakes with her. Actually there’s plenty of food in front of us to eat. Plus my wife doesn’t eat much so I knew I had a lumberjack breakfast in front of me. I love my sunny side eggs and the meat patty was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Flavorful and moist. The pancakes were fluffy and soft with just the right amount of butter. We were both happy with our breakfast and the young lady had great customer service always checking up on us. Best part there’s no wait or no crowd of people to deal with either. The check came out to $ 26 for two huge breakfast’s and a good tip for the waitress. This place is worth checking out. Will definitely be back.

One of our favorite places to go for breakfast! Their chicken, avocado, bacon, Swiss and sour cream omelette is the best. Not a lot of frills at this place and you can only pay by cash but well worth it.

Favorite pancakes in Sacramento! I go here almost once a week for the pancakes. Nom nom so soft. The eggs are a hit or miss but then again I am picky with my eggs. Service 4 stars. Wish the bathroom didn’t smell so weird. Aside from that I love going here for the pancakes. Will continue coming here 4xs a month

In & out on a Sunday morning, service was quick, food was your average breakfast. Good place to go to when you’re hung over or want to save a few bucks

Hole in the wall place and it really doesn’t look like much from the outside but breakfast is always great! I love their thick cut bacon and the pepper sauce they have here. Don’t come late on the weekends because they have run out of food by 1:30pm before!

After seeing the long lines at Orphan Breakfast House and Tower Café, I suddenly remembered this place. Haven’t been here in nearly 20 years. My son and I both ordered #7s: 3-pancake stack, scrambled eggs and bacon. The flapjacks were thick, fluffy, tasty and hot syrup — a nice touch. Bacon strips were crispy and eggs perfect. Service was friendly and food came out quick. Will be back for their French Toast or Belgian Waffle in the near future.

Update: Their move to cash-only and increased prices has made us stop eating here. Used to be a favorite of ours. Prior review: Try the chorizo and eggs. Can’t go wrong with an omelette either. I’m always surprised more people don’t know about this place. Good for a hangover brunch, or just brunch any day.

I’ve passed this place a million times but never thought to come here until a friend invited me. It’s a typical greasy spoon, but pretty decent and worth returning to for a low-key breakfast. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with two eggs, sausage, and coffee(about $ 10). It was good… filling…about what you’d expect from a place like this. Open tables. Quick service. Clean. Plenty of non metered parking on 22nd street(the block parallel). Pretty standard breakfast menu(not a huge variety). I’d probably try the linguica and eggs next time.

This place is so old timey! So nostalgic but clean, complete with the classic breakfast bar. I love it! Went here with Bae on Sunday morning for a little cheap-o brunch. Seriously satisfied us. The pancakes here are better than any other pancakes!!! So fluffy, hint of sweetness inside, drowning in butter. It’s just what you want from a pancake breakfast. And oh-so-homemade. I had the spinach and cheese omelet. So tasty, and absolutely STUFFED with spinach which I like. Came with some crisp and savory hash browns. Great portions. For two adult meals, the total came out to $ 18.00. And we’ll definitely be back. :) We were shaken with hunger/hungover-ness. So we were super happy to see our food coming out piping hot and fast! SIDENOTE: The only downside I can think of is the seemingly inattentive servers, who are teenagers. The are very nice! just a little slow and unorganized. They took a while to come ask if we were ready to order, and were confused as to who was serving our table. But it’s all good since our food was quick to be served. Thinking of those delicious pancakes now… MMMM :) Don’t hesitate to visit this hole-in-the-wall breakfast gem!

Greasy spoon for sure. Perfect for hangovers! You get what you expect at a joint like this. The service has always been fine. They always seem to be out of the corned beef hash when I go.

i walked in and i just self seat myself since no host was available. i tend to lean for the booth but it had a sign of minimum of 2 people so i went ahead and sat on the bar table. they already had the table all set up with a menu as well. i then was greeted and asked if i need a cup of coffee. i then went ahead and looked at the menu. i have heard many things about the silver dollar pancake. so i then consider it. i then went ahead and order the number 4 with french toast and one sunny side egg but it came out over easy, and 3 sausages, with a slab of greasy potatoes. about 5 minute wait, my meal had came out. the french toast took an additional 3 minutes to come out. the egg was made over easy when i requested sunny side. i didn’t mind since it had yolk inside. i then broke the yolk on top of the slab of greasy potatoes. the potatoes were on the bland side. i had to spice it up with their hot sauce and ketchup and pepper. it was definite roasted golden brown with a crisp texture to it. the sausages were just normal nothing special. the french toast was on the sweeter side. the french toast was a bit moist. it had a sugary powdery texture to it with the cinnamon and sugar powder. it wasn’t my favorite and i have had better. i don’t think i will order the french toast again and i would have rate it 2.5 outta 5. overall this number 4 combo was only 7.56. i found it to be a great deal for a quick breakfast. i have walked by this place for many times but never had the urge to go in. also they close early after lunch time i believe, the lunch menu has sandwiches and soup and salad from a quick browse. the décor inside had painted walls with sacramento sights on it. its a colorful artwork on the walls and had the feel for a old vibe diner in sacramento. There are plenty of seats for customers and is great for groups too. also kids friendly too with a kids menu. the service is more on the casual style. they do bring you stuff but not very attentive, with refilling waters. overall it was good and friendly environment for some quick cheap hole in the wall breakfast with some family. and again thanks for reading and happy Unilocaling.

Had the Denver omelet and the #6. The waitress was happy to oblige my no carb substitution. The bacon and sausage were really delicious. Happy we chose here instead of Dennys. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Nice old school, greasy spoon diner. You can taste the seasoned grill, it was great!

Did I feel«Lucky» the last time I came here? I can’t say I did. I had been with a friend driving around midtown looking for a good breakfast spot. Her and I finally decided on this little hole in the wall because like the other places we tried, it was not very busy or expensive. I ordered the veggie omelet with avocado and spinach on the side. Let’s just say that I could have made a better omelet and I suck at making omelets! The omelet was bland and the veggies weren’t sauteed all the way. The eggs also felt looked a bit watery. And let’s not even talk about the hash brown that was flopped on my plate. The entire top was burnt… like get the fire extinguisher burnt! I could not eat that burnt hash brown even if I was on Fear Factor with Joe Rogen yelling in my ear«This is for $ 25,000…let’s go… eat it!» The good thing is I wasn’t going to eat it to begin with and only wanted the omelet; however, I was very disappointed with Lucky Café. I guess they were Lucky I came in and bought something. The service was fast because there were only like four other people in there. Will I give the Lucky Café another try? I think they’re luck just ran out and I’m not interested in burnt hash browns with watery omelets. I’ll take my chances elsewhere.

Lucky Café is within walking distance from my home and I wanted a quick, delicious breakfast one morning so I walked over there. I had the Santa Fe(I think that’s what it’s called) omelette and added bacon. It was delicious although the salsa left something to be desired. I would ask ask for no sour cream next time. The hash browns were what to be expected and the rye toast was fine as well. The service was a bit scattered and she was slow and then brought out the wrong order. I’ll definitely be back to explore the menu at a later date, I’m thinking French toast.

Classic American breakfast fare, fast & cheap. Things they get right; coffee, eggs, hash browns, sausage, biscuits & gravy. Rumor has it the pancakes and waffles are great too, if you’re into that kind of thing. I’m partial to the #4 with sausage, a biscuit for toast and a side of gravy. $ 12 w/coffee. Service is fine, Kate is a peach, but I’ve only ever seen one server, one buser and one cook on shift here at a time, so relax, you’ll get your turn. Occasionally the buser will come try and help you out with coffee if the server is busy, he’s not there to take your order or answer questions, so please, accept his kindness and back off. They get 5 stars, are they really a 5 star restaurant? Well no, this isn’t Bacon & Butter, silly, but they deserve a boost in their rating, because they do what they do well, with consistency.
