the more I go here the more I like it. The red sauce is quite distinctive– dark and rich, the salsa is memorable and items like burritos and enchiladas actually have something in them. The prize so far has been a terrific chicken taco salad. Have had it twice now and each time its a perfectly browned edible salad bowl filled with nice cold vegies(including olives yum) , just the right amount of rice and beans and generous amounts of juicy flavorful shredded chicken topped with sour cream and gauc. Though everything I have had here has been good, its going to be really hard to order something other than this wonderful salad. Service is great too– my water glass was kept filled & all was done with a smile. Great place!

What a shame. I was really hoping that all the negative reviews on La Victoria would be false, but that’s clearly not the case. I ordered the supreme nachos without any meat, and honestly I felt like I could have gotten better nachos from a movie theater… that’s how bad they were. My boyfriend did order carnitas tacos and he seemed to enjoy those, which I will give points for being authentic Mexican tacos. Service was honestly drab, I had to repeat our order several times due to some language barrier which was rather annoying. I definitely do not intend on returning here, might as well go to Florez and sit down and relax while waiting for my food.

La Victoria is a great neighborhood restaurant. It’s located in an IGA Market. Close by in the same mall, there’s Florez, Giovanni’s, Brick oven, Erwan and Brownies. Although not as fancy as Florez, La Victoria has good ol homecooked Mexican fare, tacos, burritos, tortas, nachos with choice of meats. I like the taco or burrito with carnitas, carne asada or chili verde. It’s nothing fancy but the price is right, and the food tastes good. It’s a perfect place to get a quick simple breakfast or lunch at a reasonable price. A neighborhood would be lucky to have this kind of place. In the local neighborhood restaurant niche for simple, authentic, tasty Mexican food, LVicCocina would get 4.

Delicious carnitas! Sopes are a must try! Bean and cheese burrito was great, with the tortilla toasted on the grill. True authentic mexican food. Can’t believe the one star review… obviously not from an authentic Mexican food lover! We went to Brownies next door for the corned beef, but didn’t realize it was only for lunch. The bartender let us know that we call the order in to La Victoria and they would bring it over to the bar for us. It’s only across the parking lot, but that was still pretty dang convenient. We gorged ourselves while drinking beers. How can you go wrong?

I’d actually give this a 3.5, but the 4 is for yummy salsa. This is good Mexican restaurant for the price. I had the adobada wet burrito, which was very tasty. My wife got the veggie sopas, and she liked them. My friend got the nachos, and she said«I want to hump these nachos they are so good.» The nachos were cheesey nacho cheese, the fake kind you get at ball games, and they were indeed good. The woman running the place when we were there was super friendly. The food came slowly, which makes me feel better about the food than food coming way too fast. We will go back!

I am no connoisseur of taqueria’s but I have been to enough to know this one is the worst in my neighborhood. Upon entering the place seemed deserted, the cook was sitting down watching tv in the seating area. Though she took some time to greet us, I still feel that was unprofessional. After reading the menu my boyfriend and I made our selections. I ordered the Super Nachos with Carne Asada. He ordered the Super Burrito with Carne Asada. We took our food to go, and how I wish we hadn’t cause I might have been able to get my money back. At first glance of my nachos, they looked appetizing, with a great presentation. After a few seconds I realized the cheese on my nachos, was not cheese at all. It was cheese sauce! GROSS. If I wanted some cheap nachos with cheese sauce I’d have bought a can and made it myself. I did not pay $ 8 for nachos with sauce. The meat, was more fat than anything, and flavorless. I only ate about half and then decided I couldn’t eat anymore. My boyfriend’s burrito was not appealing. It didn’t even look like a burrito. As he attempted to eat it, he realized the reason it was so huge, was because it was all lettuce! There was almost no meat and what was there was fat, and he didn’t even taste any cheese until he was halfway through it. What a disappointment this place was! I will never waste my money here ever again and I suggest you don’t either!

I live in the area and I’m guilty of judging a book by the cover when they opened. I went in one morning for a quick breakfast burrito not really expecting much more than some fast food. It was really good and at a great price. Went back again for a quick lunch before leaving town. Again, another great experience. $ 7.99 for a two item combo plate. Now I go in two or three times a week. You can call ahead and they make my breakfast burrito so it’s ready when I come in. The tamales are awesome. I order a dozen for Easter. The beans are real, not dehydrated. They make everything from scratch. They are so much better than the other Mexican restaurant a few doors down. It’s not the over sauced, greasy, rehydrated food the other place serves and their combo plates are a couple dollars cheaper. Great salsa too. The whole chicken dinner is great at $ 16 for a great take home dinner. Love this little«dive» with good food!
