I’m sad this place closed. Used to go here occasionally when I didn’t bring lunch to work. Good food, friendly service.

In Sacramento and seen a lot of cars. Food was god and fresh. There was two adults and a child. Thought it was pricey. Ordered two burritos, kid meal and two fountain sodas and it was $ 23. Workers were nice and checked in you.

If you want real Mexican food than this is the place for you! Listen up because this is the best part and you wont want to miss it! On the weekends they fresh homemade corn tortillas! The southern part of Mexico they like corn tortillas and in the Northen floor tortillas! I’m a flour tortilla guy! But the homemade corn tortillas are amazing! You won’t want to pass a chance to try it! So if your going just to check it out and decide go on a weekend!

Not sure why people are giving this place bad reviews. I’ve ate here about 5 times already and I’m always satisfied when I leave. The girl taking your order is friendly and always has a smile on her face. The lunch menu is only $ 6.99 and it comes with a drink and unlimited amount of chips and salsa. I wish they had more options for the salsa. I got the chicken enchilada plate and that was delicious. It filled me up perfectly.

PRO: Service was great. Free chips and salsa. Great atmosphere. Delicious hand made tortillas. CON: Surprised when the order came out so quickly. Tasted like reheated stale food from the microwave. Chile from aldiablo sauce is having a field day in my tummy. Not even deliciously hot, horridly hot had to rinse shrimp to eat. Looks like they did not cook it in the sauce, just drenched it after heating them in microwave. Shrimp cocktail was so cold it still had slush in it. Mixed fajitas were oily and soggy, like it had been reheated a few times. The people were great but the food not so good.

The food was better when it was La Preferida. Food is ok these days, but not as tasting and fresh.

The name of this Taqueria has change, but I’m happy to say that the food and service is still the same! The last time I went I ordered the chicken enchilada plate dinner, loads of food! And you get free chips and salsa. I think next time I’ll order it al la carte! I love their frescos(sp?), especially the cantaloupe!

La Preferida has changed their name to La Ke Taqueria. The first time I went there, I was not impressed with their food so I decided to wait and try them again before writing a review. Today I came back to give them another try. I ordered the al pastor burrito lunch special that came with rice, beans, and a drink for $ 5.99. The price was good, unfortunately the food was not. There was not much meat in my burrito(actually there was not much of anything else in it either) the tortilla was tough like it had been microwaved, and it did not have much flavor. The beans were bland as well, but the rice was good and they do offer free chips and salsa. The people that work at La Ke Taqueria are very friendly, sweet, helpful people that make it extremely hard to write a negative review, but unfortunately I have to be honest. I probably will not be going back.

This former Del Taco restaurant is now a smaller version of the ever popular La Favorita. The name La Preferida hints as a kissing cousin to the La Favorita franchise. The extensive menu is similar, along with the dining furniture. There are 3 flat screen TVs for your dining entertainment. I ordered a vegetarian taco salad that was OK at best. The ingredients were fresh, but the taco bowl seemed a little stale. Not that big of a deal, since I wasn’t hungry enough to eat the shell anyway. My boyfriend ordered a complete dinner that was satisfactory. They don’t skimp on portions and the service was professional. This place stays open pretty late until 11:00 pm.,(according to their business cards). Nice to know, for those who are late Mexican food cravers. They also utilize the old Del Taco drive thru feature for take out. And they offer catering services. Another nice little taqueria for South Sac to patronize and enjoy!

Three and a half stars for the Fish Taco and Carnitas Taco on my first visit a couple months ago. One and a half stars for the Carne Asada Taco Salad I had yesterday. Let’s be honest, don’t you order taco salads for that big ass fried tortilla shell? Well, mine tasted like soap. SOAP!!! WTF? It was slightly moist, too. Definitely not fresh. Do they fry them the night before and store them in the kitchen sink? Never again…

Don’t order the Milanesa Torta, unless you like eating bread sandwiches. And I do mean JUST bread. The milanesa was pounded so thin that you actually couldn’t taste any meat only the breading it was fried in. I chose poorly. Very poorly. I maaaaaay go back and stick to the usuals like carnitas or al pastor.

WOW! Great taqueria here — must be the biggest selection of meats I’ve ever seen: all the usual suspects(asada, al pastor, carnitas, etc.) along with the lengua and some other more exotic fare. Very tasty very good!!!

This is La Favorita but in a smaller package. La Preferida is slightly smaller but with the same furniture and the same lettering as La Favorita’s sign. Basically the same menu as La Favorita’s too. La Preferida also comes with a drive-thru. Secret: You’ll save about .25-.50 per main dish at La Preferida as compared to big brother La Favorita.
