The food is great! The staff is nice but they would just constantly stare at us :| made us a little uncomfortable Haha but like I told my husband I don’t care if they stare we are still going back for that mouthwatering Yumminess

The Worst customer service I’ve had ever in my life! I asked if all their Kabob was beef and the reply I GOT was«what do you think» Really!I proceeded to ask why he was being rude and condescending and he replied back saying«I get this stupid question asked everyday and I’m sick of it, check the menu and description before you call» really? I don’t care how good the food is! treat people with respect ! JUSTCAUSEBUSINESSISBOOMINGFORYOUDON’T GIVEYOUTHERIGHTTOMISTREATPEOPLE! I always get the chicken kabob plate. Comes with salad and rice. Always so juicy and straight from the spit fire.

Food always used to be delicious in the past, especially at the previous location. Since they’ve moved to this location few years back, the service has been a hit or miss. Even just getting food to go can be a hassle depending on who’s working the register. Also, i’ve noticed that the ground beef kabobs are a lot smaller now compared to before, and a little pricey for the amount of kabob you’re getting, and they’ll forget little things in the order like the grilled tomato(my fav). I wish they would be more careful about who they leave in the front to take orders. Last time there was a lady who barely spoke any english and straight-up refused with a rude«No! They cannot do that!» when I requested to please halve the rice and replace it with salad since the rice portion is way too much in proportion to the meat. I was surprised since i have had no problem asking for that in the past. I will look at other options when my craving for kabob hits :/

DRooOoolz. Always good eats. I’m the type of person who, once they’ve tried something and love it, will only order that. That = the Chicken Curry with rice. yum. Went one day and waiter told us after ordering that there were no ingredients in kitchen to make it. =[ sad life. *first world problems* Still had a very tasty chicken Gyro. Love the Naan Bread.

Where do I start? The food here is AMAZING. Fresh, delicious, and high quality. We ordered chicken, beef, and lamb. The rice is also very good, addictive I would day. This place is a hidden gem, we’ll definitely be back!!!

My meat-eating SO loved his kabobs so much he asked me to write this review. We’ve tried to come here before but they were closed during normal dinner time, and tonight we started out being the only diners, so we were a little worried. However, the food was delish! And there were more patrons by the time we left :) Nicely decorated, chill staff. The SO loved the kabob combo. For vegetarians they have potato pancakes, an eggplant dish, and a veggie kabob. I got the eggplant and it was really good but heavy, so I took half home. «Naan» was included and bottomless(more like regular bread). Total before tip was $ 24. We’ll be back!

I’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times, I have taken most of my friends here and they have all had good experiences! The décor is tasteful, plenty of space, its never crowded, and the service is usually quick. It’s also the only place in Natomas that sells gyros(that I know of) My only disappointment is in the menu, I feel as if the menu lacks variety and could use more side dishes other than just rice, naan, and salad. I love the beef/lamb gryos, ridiculously good! It makes up for the lack of side dishes! Yum

First time trying not food specifically labeled«afghan» but I have had halal and Mediterranean before. They’re essentially very similar besides small differences between spices and Mediterranean having all the hummus and garlic sauce/pita bread. AMBIENCE: The restaurant is located on the corner of the plaza with plenty of parking available. Upon walking in, there are many many seats, good for small and larger groups. We choose one along the booth side. The waitress was very nice and since we were the first ones there for dinner, she seated us right away. FOOD: Initially she brought out some bread for us to munch on which came with some amazing green Chilli sauce. $ 7.95 + tax — Chicken Gyro: It was pretty tasty I asked for extra lettuce as well as extra tzatziki sauce(which is the amazing white sauce) and one of those cost an extra $ 0.75… I just wish the waitress would have told me which ahah. The gyro was pretty darn tasty, well seasoned and on point with the extra sauce. $ 12.99 + tax — Combination Kabob with Chicken & Ground Beef: looked pretty bomb and a good portion for one with a bit to spare or for two smaller tummies to devour. The two chunks of chicken and beef kabob over rice came with a side salad drizzled in ranch. I was half expecting hummus but I forgot we weren’t at a Mediterranean place ahha! Overall the price was pretty good, as well as our experience there. Glad this place opened up in Natomas! Always great to add good places to my food library

Pros: –meat very fresh –bread nice and worm –good tea –nice hot sauce Cons: –the rice was a bit oily –salad was just fine –portions are big but I guess can be a positive thing to some But in general, the food is really good and I don’t regret coming here.

Came here on Friday night around 7pm. The first time we came was a couple of weeks ago near closing time which was around 8:30 when they only offered takeout which we decided not to do because we wanted to dine in. The place was pretty empty for the most part. Maybe about three tables had people seated. Being almost empty on a Friday night says something about a restaurant usually. But then again, the location of this place is pretty hidden and this type of cuisine isn’t very popular in this area. I still wanted to try it though. I ordered the combination plate. This lets you pick two types of meat which comes with three pieces each on a skewer stick over basmati rice along with naan, a side salad, and chutney for a total of 12.99! I went with the beef and chicken for my choices of meat. Food came and I devoured that plate so fast as it was the first thing I’ve had all day! Loved the chicken. It was juicy and tender. Very good. Read some other reviews saying how the chicken is dry. Definitely not the case. The beef however was very tough. Felt like I was chewing it for an eternity in my mouth. Loved the chutney sauce though. Perfect to dip your meat into. The naan, basmati rice, and salad were all pretty standard tasting: nothing to rave about. We also ordered baklava and they gave us two small pieces on the house. I shared one with the bf and ate my half before taking a picture because I was so excited to eat baklava since not too many places offer it around here. Again, nothing special. It wasn’t flaky like I’m used to seeing but the flavors were there for sure. Overall, this place is a solid three for me. Big protons, affordable prices, nice and attentive service, and very clean. Loved the small chandelier candle thing they had at the table for decoration.

Oh man this place is soooooo delicious!!! I’m so thankful we checked with Unilocal for a place to eat after leaving the airport. We started with the hummus and naan — the hummus is in a league of its own! Also got an order of the Bolani — its killer good! Other reviews said its a large order and they were right. We got a chicken kabob plate and a 3 meat combo plate of chicken, beef, and lamb — everything was so good. Our 5 year old loves trying new things and he couldn’t stop eating the lamb and beef. Great place to come with the family, come HUNGRY, and stay a while.

First came out with some bread. Kinda plain with some chutney in a small round container. Then, the bolani for days and days. You may need to take some home! It was potato bread, served warm and really plentiful. Came with more chutney. Ordered that, and the«Pick Two» Combination Kabob for lunch. Lamb for 2 extra bucks and a big thin patty of ground beef. Guess what it came with? Oh yeah, the same chutney. Slab o’ ground beef on top of some basmati rice was seasoned, but it didn’t seem like much. Maybe a bit dry. Lamb was good and flavorful but not enough to save this plate. Some sort of «salad» on the other side of the chutney. It was enough for two and then some. We brought leftovers home. Did I mention they serve chutney?

Two thumbs up for the fresh and healthy food option specially post workout meal. Pretty fancy place I think probably one of the better decorated Mediterranean food places in Sacramento. I suggest trying the chicken options they tend to be a better bet. I usually just get the meat options and avoid the rice they tend to really pile on the rice it’s enough for 2 people just order extra meat on the side.

Love this place and their food. True authentic Afghan food. Unlike Iranian or Persian restaurants you can eat their rice by itself and you’ll love it. From chapli kabob to their bolani… Everything is super yummy. The only thing is not that good is their lamb. Very chewy. First time I thought it was a bad batch or something but ordered it 3 more times and EVERY time the lamb was too hard to chew and digest. Lamb is like filet mignon to all middle easterns. Lol

I was there when Ayub J. was there. He was rude, loud, and used foul language. The employee and owner refused to be abused by that customer and his back up. Good for them. Our dinner was delicious and the service was great as usual. It would have been perfect if not for those rude people. Some people just don’t know how to communicate respectfully.

I came back for a second visit a few weeks ago and unfortunately their chicken breast kabobs are still dry! So much so all you want to do is reach for water after each bite. I give up. I won’t be returning. Back to pretentious Famous Kabob to get my kabob fix.

Awesome gyros! We had both lamb/beef and chicken gyros and they were both very tasty! The chicken one was the most garnished but the veggies were a little too raw to my palet. The lamb gyro was bomb! Just a little small. We also took the eggplant for appetizer, it was quite delicious with some yogurt on top to smoother the taste even more. The service was great, the owner was very available and not too invasive. The dishes were well presented. The slice of cake we took at the end was waaay too sweet to me, that’s why I removed one star. The set up is quite cool as well, not overly traditional. I highly recommend of you like gyros and kebab! It seems to be the place to go to!

Let me start with the fact that I’m a foodie. I also cook very well. I’d been here before(the other day) and wasn’t impressed. Opted to give it another try, and try another dish. The place was empty(see picture) including staff. As in no one. Finally someone appeared after numerous hellos from us. Didn’t ask to seat us, but asked what we wanted to go(this was lunch time, not closing time) One of my restaurant rules that I adhere to, if you don’t smell food, you should leave. The exception would be five star restaurants, and even then, you’ll catch a whiff of food. Five star establishments tend to focus on ambience followed by the wonderful food. But I digress … Let’s talk food. We ordered the naan. It turned out to be less than focaccia, and more than a rock. The hummus that was supposed to accompany it, didn’t. The bread was rock hard and cold. As in old n cold. The lamb(gyro) itself was good. It had a good flavor, visually it wasn’t appealing. The cucumbers and tomatoes weren’t fresh. They tasted tainted. Like the song tainted love. The pita was good. Soft and what it’s supposed to be. They packed the entire order in one box. What ?! This wasn’t one order. Three stars for the meat. Not sure I’d give this place another try, which is sad. My little area needs places that serve something other than burgers.

Gyros are the perfect lunch. Walked in for lunch and it was quiet and empty. Stood there for a few minutes and finally someone came out the back, seated us, and brought us menus. While you wait they bring you Naan bread and this delicious green sauce to dip the bread in. Everything on the menu sounded pretty yummy we contemplated between the kabob plate and the gyros. After I finally made a decision to go with the gyros I was faced with the dilemma of chicken or lamb. I went with the lamb! Thank goodness I did. Tip: dip your gyro in that delicious green sauce!!! Food: delicious, you’ll leave feeling full and satisfied Service: not great, the only reason why this place is getting 4 stars and not 5. Price: $ 8 for a nice sized Gyro
