Emperia Wellness & Spa

I stayed at the Hyatt this week and looked forward to getting a massage once I found out the hotel also had a spa. Although its detached from the hotel, there are signs and arrows to show where its located. I went into the Stay fit Gym a few times which is in the same suite and was so intrigued by how private the spa area was.
On my last day, I had some free time so I thought I could squeeze in that massage I was hoping for. I called the spa directly and was told they had one last slot at 5:15. I reserved myself a deep tissue session for 60 mintues.
I got there early at 5:00, was politely greeted and seated while I filled out an agreement form. Thereafter, the receptionist escorted me to the restroom where I found my thick plush robe, house spa slippers and a locker to store my belongings/​clothes. I was offered lemon water and brownie bites which I thought was a definitely a plus! :) I think she could tell I was cold from outside so she quickly had me changed and put into a cute private one person sauna behind pinned curtains :) Before I knew it, it was 5:32pm and a woman asked if i was ready and took me into the other room.
She had apologized for the wait, as her last client had an allergy from the nut oil. I was too relaxed in the sauna to even realize the time that passed. She quickly got started and went over exactly what I wanted and where I need targeted.
From the warmed bed, warm towels/​sheets, the amount of pressure and techniques… was the best experience I’ve had. Every knot I had was loosened in the end and she even went for an extra 20 mintues after my time was up for having me wait (which was no big deal but definitely worth it!!) She made me feel comfortable the entire time, keeping me compltely covered and only exposed areas she was currently working on. She gave me tips on how to relieve my aches and prevent those knots in my shoulders. She didn’t let me lift a finger and kept me relaxed the entire time with minimum talking and reminding me to take deep breaths.
After the session was over, she let me take my time in changing before I paid. Was offered dark chocolate and a bottle of water to keep hydrated. It was definitely worth every penny and I would highly recommend this place to get relaxed. The service was STELLAR and won’t forget the incredible experience I got at the Emperia wellness & spa!

Amazing spa in the heart of downtown. Literally steps away from the Capitol building. This place is Sacramento’s best kept little secret. Situated a few doors down from the Hyatt hotel, you’ll find this day spa hidden in the midst of a wellness gym. It sounds a bit strange & kind of a struggle to find, but I promise you it’s worth it when you do! After you are checked in at the front lobby, one of their professional staff will take you to the back where you’ll find a sliding door to this oasis of a spa. They have complimentary drinks & snacks as well as a locker room. They give you a plush robe to wear & while you wait there’s a front relaxation room where you can sit in your robe to read a book/​magazine & drink a cup of tea! The rooms themselves are pretty, renovated, & super relaxing. The people here are amazing. One of the best massages I had & I’ve been to many other spas around the world. This massage here I had beats the massage I had in an upscale spa in a posh hotel in Hong Kong. So please if you want an amazing experience. Come to this place! And another thing is they found out it was my birthday the day I went and surprised me with a discount for my service as well as a nice little gift when I checked out. :) So sweet! I’ll be a returning customer.

Sharon was amazing. The staff, Sherrie was very nice and helpful. I had my first facial as well as a body scrub, which came with a body butter massage. I feel I got a good value. I felt refreshed and ready for the world.
Emperia is a block from the Capitol building and adjacent to the Hyatt Regency. There’s a gym in the same center and a parking garage that can be validated within the same block. Starbucks and a very good Mexican restaurant are on either side of Emperia.

Great Essential massage ! Best part of my day! Super easy to make an appointment. Staying at Hyatt and it is just around the corner. Great prices.

I just finished a fantastic facial from Casandra. My skin feels wonderful. She took care of details. I felt extremely relaxed. My skin is glowing and clean. They use dermalogica products, which I am familiar with. The spa treatment center is next to the fitness center of the Hyatt. They have treatment rooms for massage and facials. Guests of the Hyatt frequent the spa section I believe. But it is open to the public. I also had a waxing which was done very carefully .
I would recommend for locals or visitors.

Only got a massage here, but it was a great experience. I was having back pain after a bad day at work and was nervous about getting a massage, but I woke up this morning and I feel great! I feel energized and loose. When she flipped me over in my back I was so relaxed, I was in and out of sleep.
They were also super flexible with scheduling my appointment. I believe Donniese was my massage therapist and she did a great job!

Update: I did receive a letter and a check in the mail, though for a smaller amount than we paid for one massage ($ 80 instead of $ 105). So pretty good customer service (they probably took off the tax, I am not sure) but that does not change the price/​benefit relation for other customers.

My niece and I had our 1^st facials ever today!
I was here for the Irish dance western regionals competition/​oireachtas visiting from Santa Monica. She’s a 1^st year at Sacramento state. Mercedes did an AMAZING job and I feel like I have a new face! I will definitely come back again when I visit my niece! I told Mercedes that I’d follow her wherever she goes ;)
Donniese did our hand massage and picked out a fabulous smelling cream for us! We are leaving the spa smelling like yummy cupcakes! She was very professional and I wish I could have stayed all day with these 2 wonderfully professional women!

I came here for a deep tissue by Michael and man… It was painful but great. The staff is amazing and very nice.

This is the best find in Sacramento. I stayed at the Hyatt and after a full day of meetings my back and shoulders were screaming at me. I went to the Emperia spa at the hotel and had the best massage and facial ever. The staff is great and I talked my masseuse to death during the session. I can’t wait until next month when I will be back in downtown Sacramento. My first stop will be Emperia Wellness & spa
