More of a sandwich shop, all the meat is shredded. Was ok. Not what I think of when I want bar b que. Pulled pork sandwich was very good

Huh? They have Eagle meat? No. Don’t be fooled like I was. Not that I was looking to eat some Eagle meat or anything. The location has changed for Eagle Bar B Que to 1826 Fulton Avenue where the AKA International Grocery is located. I stumbled upon this place on my way to Subway. As much as I love eating healthy. I am a sucker for anything barbecue freshly smoked. And when I saw the smokers and grill sitting right out the store front, I was a pulled pork. no pun intended. I was given samples of their chicken, lamb and beef briskets. The chicken was a little dry, the lamb was soft and sweet, and the beef was very moist with a nice flavorful barbecue sauce. I got the beef brisket sandwich. A good size sanwich, soda can and small bag of chips for $ 6 isn’t a bad deal. Its better than opting for Arby’s. I was also given a free side of cole slaw and potatoe salad fusion. A potato slaw or cole salad. The baked potato looked amazing, unfortunately I was in for a light meal. I will definitely be coming back to this place to try it and anything else they have to offer. You can’t go wrong with fresh barbecued meat with a fast and friendly service for food on the go!

They just moved to a new location at 1826 Fulton ave, Sacramento CA… near Alta Arden(next to the Local Farmer’s Market). They make a great rib sandwich and a polish sandwich. Good price, great food!

BBQ at a gas station. A Shell gas station next to Home Depot??? Yes you are reading this correctly. Yes the parking sucks, and there are random people walking around looking for odd-jobs(You need your house painted ma’am! Got 5 guys ready to go!) Walk away just walk away. The food is good I mean it’s actually really decent bbq. I got what I always get… pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. Get the sandwich and throw the slaw on top of that sucker. The meat isn’t dry which is always a good thing. For $ 5.99 you get a sandwich, chips, and a can soda. That’s a damn good deal in my book. I’ll be back to try some other smoked menu items and will update my review. Until then back to inhaling my pulled pork/slaw sammy.

If you suddenly find yourself craving a barbecued lunch or dinner, but just don’t have the time to fire up the grill, then here is a place you must try! Just head straight for the Shell Gas Station on the corner of Folsom Blvd. and Power Inn Rd. Yes, it’s in a gas station! A delicious aroma of chicken, turkey, burgers and franks fill the air the minute you get out of your car. I never smelled any gasoline at all! My boyfriend has eaten here before and liked the food, so when we happen to be in the area, I just had to taste test it myself. As you walk into the station, you follow your nose and make a right turn where you will find a cramped food ordering counter. The posted menu had some tempting selections, to which I decided on the grilled chicken breast sandwich that came with your choice of a side dish, a canned drink, and bag of chips for $ 8.99. My BF ordered the smoked pulled pork sandwich meal. Everything was cooked up fresh and prepared with some tangy barbecue sauce. We got our food and proceeded outside to a patio table with an umbrella. The buns used for the sandwiches were pretty much your standard packaged variety and may have not done the barbecued meats justice. But once you sink your teeth into the food, it’s the flavor that brings your taste buds back to reality. We shared some barbecued beans and potato salad that were all tasty. While sitting out back behind the gas station lot of this«no frills» eatery, you must focus on the fact that you are there for the food as you sit and watch the heavy traffic of Folsom Blvd. whiz by. There’s nothing fancy about eating here, so taking your food to go is probably a better idea. But we still had errands to take care of afterward and it was more convenient to remain. We left feeling full, satisfied and with renewed strength, able to move on to finish our chores for the day…

Pretty damn good que. I had a pulled pork sandwich and a plate of brisket. The meat was fantastic, sauce was excellent, if a little mild. My only complaint was that there were no ribs until 5pm. I will be back for those though. Also, a spicier sauce option would have been appreciated, but is by no means necessary. Price was right too, though I’d like to see a combo option offered. What can I say? I like to eat a lot of BBQ.

Yes, it’s in a Gas Station but get over it people the food is wonderful. The owner is an amazing guy to, everyone that works there is nice. The prices did go up a little bit recently but I don’t care I’m happy to support their business. I love the pulled pork, hands down it’s my favorite. My boyfriend loves the smoked turkey. We’ve even gone in before closing and they’ve sold us a full rack of ribs for less than the price of 2 plates and it’s a ton of meat for just the two of us. The baked potatoes are one of my favorite and I even loved the stuffed potatoes with pulled pork or turkey. With the sandwiches you get a bag of chips and a canned soda, and I like how sometimes they have the generic grapefruit soda too :) If you can’t find easy parking in the gas station go through and around behind the car wash… don’t mind the«guys» standing around there that are looking for work just park and walk down the path between them(look for the stepping stones) and walk through the back. You get an view of the smokers too, follow the smell and you’ll find the path :) It is take-out only, but on a good day there are a few picnic tables outside by the restrooms near the smokers. I love this place and I hope they stay around. Easy quick lunch or dinner at a good location. And good owners too.

Great local BBq made with love & care. The pulled pork is the best thing on the small but focused menu. Just get ready for the giant baked potato. FYI; this is take out only, although there are benches outside.

Best thing about this place is the prices — sandwich meal for $ 6 and plate w/2 sides for $ 8 and the huge baked potato is only $ 2.50! The BBQ was decent. I tried a little of everything — pulled pork, beef brisket, chicken and hot links(you can do two meats on each plate). The meats were good, they all kind of tasted the same so I can’t say which one I liked the best. Thumbs down on the hot link… it tasted like a spicy hot dog, which I was bummed about because it smelled great. I really liked the coleslaw and the potato salad(which I typically don’t like) was tasty as well. I think the next time I go back, I will have a fully loaded baked potato with one of the meats… maybe beef brisket. As others have already stated, this is in the Shell gas station. What I didn’t realize was how small it was going to be in the station. It’s a little counter in the corner, but as soon as you walk in you can smell the BBQ.

Beef Tri Tip was very nice an juicy and BBQ sauce was on point. It is a shame to see a restaurant take pride in their Q but then serve on a store bought hamburger bun. The Q deserved better. Friendly staff, well worth the trip.

The pulled pork sandwich was a little dry but the sauce was tasty. The baked potato is HUGE and delicious. The lunches come with a soda and bag of chips for $ 7.99. As mentioned its in a gas station. Where else can you get some stuff from the store, some BBQ and fill your car up in the same place? I will be back!

I had a stuffed baked potato with smoked chicken breast. I am on a diet so I had them hold the butter and hold the sour cream. It was great with just the chicken topping. I can not wait to have another. A little slaw on the side(hold the beans) and you have quite the meal.

The best thing about Eagle BBQ is that the owner doesn’t smoke the holy hell out of his meat. 99.9% of the BBQ joints in this town sell beef jerky and get away with it because the naïve public thinks that’s what BBQ is supposed to taste like. Wrong. The smoke is supposed to ENHANCE the flavor of the meat, not dominate it and give you emphysema at the same time. On grounds of being on the right track, Eagle BBQ receives three stars. However, I am a little disturbed at the Owner’s tendency to want to shred(or «pull») everything. Pulled pork(typically butt roast or shoulder) is one thing, but pulled babyback ribs? WTF? Why can’t I just eat the meat off the ribs myself? Even worse: why the hell would a supposed Texan«pull» beef brisket? That doesn’t make any sense! Makes me think there’s something to hide… Advice: stop hacking your poor meat to shreds and use the time you saved to ditch the obviously canned ranch beans and develop your own recipe – any BBQ man worth his salt should be able to turn out some kick ass beans. Eagle BBQ is a decent option if you’re in the area, but I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way for it. Hopefully the owner will see the light and allow his meat to speak for itself in the form that the BBQ gods intended.

The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because you have to get it to go. and I am like a hungry hungry hippo(which means I want it now now now.) And they could probably use some more sides. Who knew that after searching for really good bbq, that I would find it in a little bitty corner of a gas station??? I am a huge sausage lover, shut up. and the polish sandwich is so freaking good. I could probably eat one of those sandwiches every day. Except Sundays, since they are closed. Booo! The baby back ribs sandwich was amazing. Full of meat and oh so tender. I also ordered a loaded baked potato stuffed with brisket. That potato is the biggest potato I have ever seen, and the biggest I have ever seen available to order at a «restaurant.» The bbq beans taste more like campfire beans. because I actually ate these. I don’t like bbq baked beans. And they were good. Didn’t try the coleslaw. Ok well I did. But I don’t like coleslaw anyways so I don’t know what it is supposed to taste like. I will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu. So for me and my taste buds… this place has the best bbq in the area

Friendly owner who offered meat samples right away when he realized I’d never been there. Sauce is mild and tangy. Meat selection include beef brisket, chicken, pork, hot link, polish sausage, smoked turkey, and baby back pork ribs. Note that they come«pulled»(shredded). I prefer my ribs on the bone, but they offer either plates or sandwiches, so I assume it’s easiest to do all pulled meat to throw on some bread. Portions were enough for the price($ 7.99/plate) which include baked beans(not bad), potato salad(a little too vinegary), roll, and a can of soda. Perfect carry-out lunch. Next time I’ll try the loaded baked potato.

As previous reviews stated, this place is in a Shell gas station. So be prepared to take home or use the few tables out side weather permitting. DONOT let this discourage you to stop for this OUTSTANDING Bar-B-Q! Really! This place beats the pants off all Bar-B-Q in Sacramento!(Flying Pig /Armadillo Willy’s included). Todays visit was my third time here. Every meal has been mouth watering good. My husband and I had more than we can eat for under $ 18.00 for both. What makes eating here even more enjoyable is the owner. He is delightful and I love supporting the little business owner. DO stop buy and give it a try! FYI, I think hes closed on Sundays.

Just so you know, this place is inside a gas station, a Shell station on the corner of Folsom and Power Inn/Howe. So it looks like a really weird place to get BBQ, but don’t be scared. It’s worth it. There’s not really anywhere to sit, so this should be a take-out meal for you. The food is quite good, and cheap. They have plates, and sandwiches. They have a variety of meats to choose from, and we got all of them, and they were all good. Most of the meals come with sides and a canned soda or water bottle. When we walked in, the cashier allowed us to sample some of the meats, and everyone was very kind. I would recommend to try it out some time.

Finally checked this place out after driving by almost every day for a year! While checking over the menu and starting and stopping my order(couldn’t decide!), the friendly gentleman said I could have more than one meat on my plate. So, I chose pulled pork and beef brisket. I actually came in craving a baked potato but quickly changed my mind when I smelled the bbq. For $ 7.99, I got the two meats(both melted in my mouth), a soft roll to stuff my meat in, some savory bbq flavored beans, the best potato salad I’ve had in a while and a soda! Next time, Mr. potato.

Yay for Gas station food! And, I’m not talking about dried out .99 hockey puck burgers or shriveled up weenies.. . I’m talking about some fresh-from-the-smoker carnivorous love: smoked beef brisket, chicken, polish sausage, and pulled pork($ 4.99 for the sandwich w/drink and chips, or $ 6.99 for a plate w/side and drink). And, GIANT baked potatoes with all the fixins’, potato salad, coleslaw, and ranch style beans for .99. That beats all to hell, any bargain basement dried out weenies and pucks. So, imma counting myself a lucky girl, in need of gas, begrudgingly flipping a bitch into that Shell station.. . when I found a BBQ oasis. Yep folks. .. some umbrellaed seating and two big ol’ smokers cooking up some deeelicious meats at that inconvenient Shell Gas Station, on that busy-ass intersection of Power Inn and Folsom. And to make things even better, the owner is just theee nicest guy(he used to run a BBQ place in Texas too). We ordered the beef brisket sandwich, and he offered us a any sample. .. so pulled pork it was. And it was gooood too. As, I waited for the sandwich, I noticed all of the paper and magazine clippings behind the cash register.. . of Uriah and Dustin, and Ultimate Fitness. Well, the nice owner is the very, very proud father of Dustin and talked highly of his son. He’s also very proud of his daughter, as he showed us a magazine she was in. .. yes, she’s beautiful too — good cook, good lookin family, and nice too = some damn good genes. This is the place I will be going to, to satisfy my BBQ lust.. . low-key, inexpensive, delish, and super friendly service, what’s not to like? I know, gas prices. But, this place sure took that pain away real quick.
