It’s Denny’s, you know what you’re going to get, food wise, but you never know who you may meet. Today, it was Gram Carolyn. Denny’s, this lady is an absolute gem! The only server for the entire restaurant, yet instead of looking overwhelmed(which she had to be) she kept that beautiful smile on her face, repeatedly check on everyone, and made for a great start to my day! You’ve got a winner in her, Denny’s!

We stopped in here to eat after the bars closed on New Years. There were a few people waiting to be seated, but that was to be expected. The two of us waited maybe 20 minutes before we were seated. After we were seated we waited 30 minutes to have our order taken but no one came. We finally walked out. There were several empty tables and a bunch of people waiting to be seated. There s just told us that they didn’t care who got served and who got seated. I will never return to this Denny’s again. I did not get the impression that we were important as a customer. Good luck if you want to eat here. The assistant mgr needs more customer service training.

I don’t usually post reviews for chain restaurants, but this experience was exceptionally terrible. This is in regards to a visit Nov 21, 2015. TL;DR version: Was told after I’d paid for my meal that they didn’t actually have an item I had ordered from the menu, caused a big deal over trying to get it changed to an item I could’ve selected originally without problem, and I never actually received my entire order(missing the extra-charge item, go figure). Full version: We were on a long road trip and stayed at the Hawthorn Suites just across from this Denny’s. There weren’t many food choices besides this or McDonald’s, but we opted to try out the Denny’s and order to go. I haven’t eaten at a Denny’s in years, and this experience solidified that I’ll never bother to go back. We received a menu to look at to place the order, and I chose to get the Build Your Own Slam breakfast option with eggs, hash browns, seasonal fresh fruit(at an extra charge, of course), and a gluten-free english muffin. We placed our order, paid, then waited. While we waited(about 30 minutes or so), I was then informed that they didn’t actually have the gf muffin, and was told to pick something else. No problem. I asked if I could swap it out for either bacon or sausage, since that was the only other options left that I hadn’t already picked. I was told I couldn’t sub a bread for a meat, even though both bacon and sausage was an option for the BYOS. I asked what I could get, and they told me I could only pick another bread. I explained that I have celiac disease and can’t have the other bread options, and then the manager was brought over and I had to re-explain the situation. Finally she did change it to some sausage links after showing extreme frustration, and after another 10 minutes or so(almost an entire hour total at this point, on a quiet evening at around 10pm) we got the food and hastily headed back to the hotel… which I then discovered that I hadn’t even been given the fruit that I’d had to pay extra for. If you’re in need of a quick bite in that area, go anywhere else. There’s a gas station equally close that I would put more confidence in than this place.

(This isn’t a 4 star review compared to all area restaurants, but rather those in this diner category) I haven’t eaten at Denny’s for decades, and I must say I was impressed. The service and the food both exceeded my expectations by a long shot! The only reason I went was for the free breakfast you get on your birthday(sweet!) and I wasn’t expecting much. That and their seasonal pumpkin pie pecan pancakes that I keep seeing ads for on TV. Well I must say I was very pleasantly surprised! Such a warm and friendly greeting by the manager, who offered me a choice of cozy booths. The waitress was nice too, and both wished me a sweet«Happy birthday». I already felt good before I ordered. Now the food. Their new chicken gouda sausage was delicious, the eggs were perfect, and those pancakes were SOGOOD, drizzled with a caramel sauce. Every bite of my meal was delicious, and now I’ll be back to Denny’s. Well done.

Not my people. 30 minutes to get your meal. Security is needed to walk you to and from your car. Bad part of town.

OK I don’t usually review a chain restaurant but. Oh My God Denny’s has this pumpkin pecan pancake right now that is the bomb. It is 2 pancakes loaded with candied pecans and a maple cream syrup that is soooo good. It is also only $ 5. The place was packed as usual on a Sunday a.m. so there is a bit of a wait unless you want to hang at the counter. nice staff was running like crazy but getting it done.

When walking in, we were not greeted with a «Hello», but a «Just so you know, it’s at least an hour and a half wait!» The young lady that said that did not show any sort of sympathy or remorse for this… She was just rude! When I told her that we were ok with waiting, she told me that I could«seat myself». I sat down and tried to have a good time until the waiter came up to assist us, but we became VERYFRUSTRATED when we noticed that more and more people were leaving, but that did not change the fact that we still were not being helped. There was only 7 tables eating/being served when we decided to leave. FIVE employees and 6 tables… I feel that this was not acceptable for an hour and a half wait. Then, two other tables were helped BEFOREWEWERE! This was the last straw! We walked out as someone was about to walk up to us and give us menus… THEWORSTEXPERIENCEATDENNY’S EVER!!! I know it’s Denny’s, but COMEON! Geesh!

Well, this was a train wreck! Thursday night at midnight, working the late shift, cruised in for a grand slam, but it turned into more of a grand slum! Overwhelmed and understaffed, 10 minutes to be seated, 86 minutes in and NOFOOD! Our server told us he had gotten«overwhelmed» and forgot to place our order, so he put it in behind all the other tags that had arrived since.(Others that came in later were already eating) We had to walk out! This place would be better if the let the homeless that lurk outside run the place. I would like to comment on the food… but since it never came, I can only talk about the service which was God awful! This may have been my last experience with you Denny’s…we have a good long run, but I think we need to break up… its not me, its you! I think I can do better.

Always good when you’re on a budget. This Dennys was quite clean. The service was super fast. The coffee and bacon were extra delicious.

I dined here at 4:30pm. The place was dirty from the dinning room to the rest rooms. It is very under staffed. 1 server for the entire restaurant &1 cook. This is not what I would expect from a franchised restaurant. The owner is worried more about profits, than a guest experience. The server did absolutely everything. She took orders, served drinks, food, cashier & tried to bus the tables. Hey a** h@!&, she cannot do it all. Hire more help! The restrooms were disgusting. Entry door & windows in the dining room had fingerprints all over them. The server really tried and I left her a great tip. I will never be back.

Came in to get some take out. Waited at the door for about 10 minutes with servers running around frustrated and behind. There wasn’t a hostess to greet customers coming in and none of the servers acknowledged customers at the door until they actually helped them. I saw two trays that were dropped in front of 3 servers at the server station and they were not wiped before putting it back up all the while prepping food to be served. Obviously they are understaffed… and need to wipe down the place a bit. The gentleman who did end up helping me maintained a professional manner and seemed to be the only one who remained calm under the pressure. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name. I won’t be returning here … Save the trip and go to mcds right across instead.

Right off the 5. Across the street from Chevron on Richards Blvd. Open 24 hours. Counter seats, booths, and tables. It’s like any other Denny’s, really. Bright with lots of seating. I’ve had good service there. There can be unsavory characters outside. I haven’t had any issues but if you’re uncomfortable with transients. you may not want to venture to this location.

Just a super average Denny’s with subpar service. I went to get my free birthday grand slam, inspired by my birthday celebration hangover, and I was a little freaked out. Our waiter must have been doing drugs because he was all over the place and nowhere at the same time. He couldn’t look at us while he was asking our order, he was already on the next question before I finished the last answer, he didn’t check up on us at all but was power walking around the store like he had so much to do. I don’t get it. I’m not even mad, just really really confused. He needed to check my ID multiple times to verify it was REALLY my birthday lol then they document it so(I’m assuming) they can make sure you don’t get a SECOND free grand slam on your bday(god forbid!). The food was pretty bad as most Denny’s food tends to be… The standard super dry scrambled eggs, funny tasting bacon, and flavorless hash browns. But the French toast was okay. I’ll probably accidentally be back in a drunken state since it’s close to my home but I’m sure I won’t enjoy it again. At least they’re consistent.

Honestly, this Denny’s is like any other Denny’s but the one thing that makes it significantly different is the service we received at this location. Our waitress Gram, Carolyn was the sweetest lady ever! She was so attentive and kept checking on us. She was serving many tables at the same time but made sure that every single customer received 100% customer service. Everyone was equally greeted and checked continuously. Because of her incredible service they deserve 5 stars.

Visiting sacramento for a business trip and decided to have breakfast at this location. I wish i could give over 5 stars. Beyond satisfied… The second we walked in a sweet, kind, lady named Gram Carolyn greeted us and served us… Wowowowowowow she was beyond amazing. So professional and caring. Very hard working and dedicated to her job and clients. She was perfect from A-Z…Words cannot describe how amazing she was… I wish and hope every business has an associate just like her… I wish i lived in sacramento so I can visit her…

I should start by saying I thought it was a complete mistake to go to Denny’s in the first place. My expectations were not high. Naturally being a man, I went with the request of a female companion who wants to go here from breakfast… god knows why and it was a total deal breaker for me. This was one of the last times I saw this woman. We arrived and the service was slow, but the restaurant empty. We waited to be seated and I took note of the multiple bums who were there for their morning coffee. I don’t mean the term in a pejorative or derogatory manner. They were literally bums from the homeless camp around the corner. After our server sat us I found the only thing I came close to wanting… other than coffee, was a skillit. I ordered what looked like a hearty breakfast and asked for an english muffin on the side… my first mistake was coming here, my second was getting anything other than water. Her food was served promptly and she seemed to like it. Mine came out after she was done eating. I couldn’t imagine a Holocaust victim eating what they showed me. It was not even food. Burnt and covered in oil or grease. I took one bite and stopped. I was done. Anything else was going to force my to throw up. There is a McDonalds across the street. If you are hungry… go there. I know that is saying a lot… but it isn’t really saying enough. I will post a picture of what they called food. Try to only look at it or a moment and if you throw up… I warned you. Unilocal… side note, why can’t you have the option«Nothing» in the«Good For» picks?

My wife and I are new to the neighborhood, so we look to try new places when we can. We remember this location used to be Lyon’s but even the old Ramada in has turned into The Hub. Our recent experience here was after a long night shift for me. I felt like a dessert and my wife a small salad and ice cream. Service was a little slow, but we did have a friendly waitress that night. Overall, we were very pleased with the place and they did a good job renovating the restaurant. Look forward to coming yet again. 4 of 5 stars!

This is the worst dennys I’ve been to. When servers are short staffed, it really shows. They forget about you, and when they finally get to you, there’s no apology for keeping you waiting 15 minutes to be seated, when there’s no one else In line, and 15 minutes to be asked what you want to drink. Since I waited so long by now I can say my whole order. I got my food and drink at the same time, when I was pretty thirsty when I walked in. Food is fine, service is not. If your looking for a good meal in the area and don’t care about quality customer service, you may as we’ll go to the McDonald’s across the street.
