Got to visit the Crown Lounge as a guest of the Kings today. It’s located down the corridor behind the basket near the visitors locker room. My visit was nice as the Kings invited a few select season ticket holders to dinner and hosted drinks, as well as a meet and mingle opportunity with a few of the players. In addition, as you were leaving, you also got the opportunity to take a photo with the players and a few SKD dancers center court which was another nice experience. Food consisted of a nice variety of salads, and the theme was Asian with chicken skewers, egg rolls, chow mein and rice. There was a hosted bar with beer on tap, assorted wines and soft drinks. The highlight of the event was the meet and mingle with a few of the currrent Kings players, Seth Curry and Kosta Koufos. I must say, Kosta seems even larger in person, especially when he is standing right next to you. Both he and Seth were very gracious, spending time talking with the season ticket members, shaking hands, and taking photos. All in all a great event put on by the Kings!

It’s a difficult place to review. My tickets to the lounge were complimentary so I have no idea what the cost of entry would be. I thought I heard someone say thy were a little over a $ 100 add on. I will say it was a welcome change from the usual grub found at the arena. The path to special admission area included a walk along the court surface and under the basket though where the visiting team enters the court. I tried to slow my pace to take in the moment but security was having nothing to do with that. Certainly understand and the guy was nice enough about it. While the food was average in quality, it was nice enough in selection. Protein options included a pan roasted hangar steak(over cooked and tough) and some sort of salmon(don’t recall the dish details but it was overcooked as well and very dry). Both options would have benefited from some sort of more substantial sauce. We were there over an hour prior to the game, half hour after they opened up, and it really should have been a better product. Over cooked food, without a sauce, dropped in a steam table, on a buffet line is a recipe for very dry food. Roasted potatoes and carrots were nice but nothing I would seek out if this was a restaurant outside the arena. It may have been an off night given it was the first game of the season. The cheese selection was very nice(this was the highlight) and the cured meats were tasty but didn’t seem to be very high quality. Hosted beverages excluding alcohol which was no-host. The service was exceptionally nice and accommodating. There were multiple big screen televisions showing the world series as well as other NBA games in progress. The ticket included admission to halftime dessert which was really cool. We had to take the back elevator to get there. The selection was multiple candies, cookies, chocolate covered pretzels, coffee /tea and root beer floats which included an option to have«adult» root beer. It was nice to catch even more of the world series game. They also had a in house video feed for the halftime show which enabled a return to the seats without missing any of the game. Allowing us to grab a couple waters and a bowl of snacks to go was a nice touch as well. It’s nice to see the Kings trying to elevate the game experience and I hope this gets elevated even more with the new arena.
