Do not bother trying to get delivery from this place. I’ve now waited 1 hr and 20 minutes; after 30 minutes ago being told«it was on its way». About 1 year ago, I also had a bad experience with their delivery. But in that case, at least it finally came.

Really good food, great timings(open late at night, compared to other restaurants), clean and trendy decorations. no second thoughts, just dive in.

A good Indian restaurant doesn’t add food color. Notice their chicken makhani is so red, masala papad green chutney is so green. The food is very average — I think this is the best Indian restaurant in Sacramento and what my friend recommended BUT I think you should try any decent Indian restaurant in San Francisco and you would notice the difference immediately. The eggplant was not good either, if anything was ok to eat was the chicken biryani. I am seriously surprised this restaurant has 4 stars in Unilocal.Maybe because there are not many decent options in sacremento. We had food here on our way back from Tahoe but I won’t recommend this place if you have some better option.

I came here with a friend for dinner. I was very excited because I am a huge fan of Indian food and have dined at several Indian restaurants across the country. I ordered the chicken korma and my friend ordered the chicken curry both around 12:50 each. Imagine the surprise when I realized that the meals DONOT come with rice or naan!!! You have to order the rice separately for 5 dollars. The portions by the way are very small so I think extremely overpriced. So since there was no choice I also placed order for rice. The curry and the korma was just ok. Honestly a bit thin. Also required adding salt. I would definitely not return here.

Honestly I love coming here. Dinner options and prices are good and I always take advantage of their takeout and delivery options. I always go with the typical chicken tiki masala, garlic naan or cheese naan, steamed rice and samosas. I’ve tried other places but always come back here. If you’re going on a Friday or Saturday I definitely recommend calling in ahead of time. The atmosphere is great along with the food. Bar service could improve and I feel like drinks are overpriced but I go for Indian food, not cocktails. Again, great food!

They were very accommodating with our large party. We had reservations but had to make some modifications throughout the day, and they happily allowed them. We went earlier than normally and were sat at an already set up table. They ran out of sweet lassi, so I opted for the mango lassi. It is more on the fruity mango side, less yogurt tasting. The tandoori is the best I’ve ever had. I was incredibly impressed. I usually never order it because it comes super dry and unsatisfying, but Bombay’s was moist and fragrant. We ordered the tandoori appetizer with lamb, salmon, and chicken. I ordered korma and told them to make it as hot as they possibly can and that I want to cry eating it. It was pretty spicy, but not painfully so – I’ve been having difficulty ordering super spicy food in Sacramento! It was delicious and much spicier than anything else I’ve had in the city so far. My friend ordered the rack of lamb, and they were little lollipop chops served on a sizzling plate. We were impressed how soft and tender they were! Another person ordered tandoori salmon and had a very generous portion. We also ordered saag paneer, but it was peculiar because it seemed to have goat cheese in it instead of actual paneer(which was in other people’s dishes). The saag part was good, avoided the goat cheese. We also ordered a variety of naan: garlic basil, goat cheese, plain, and aloo paratha. I wasn’t impressed by these; they weren’t super flavorful and barely any potatoes in aloo paratha. I rather have rice. They have a good assortment of mixed drinks, beers, and wine and even had non alcoholic(n/a) beer and mocktails, which my partner was grateful for. Everyone raved about how great it was and seemed very pleased with the service, food, and atmosphere.

Dining area has very nice décor, and comfortable chairs… a dying tradition I’m afraid. We were greeted and seated quickly and the most of the servers seemed attentive. The lamb curry carried decent flavor, but the lamb itself was of poor choice cuts and most pieces had gristle or other unsavory connective tissue in them. The dal was completely watery with a hunk or two of potato, and the veggie curry was pretty mushy(overcooked) with only carrots, peas, and underwhelming curry flavor. And the nan that came with the Thali plate is not really an order of nan… it’s a half of one piece of nan. No yoghurt came with the Thali. Our server forgot one of our ordered items and only offered«oh, yeah, sometimes it just sits there in the kitchen unless I go back and ask for it», and«I’ll take it off the bill». Um… thanks? So, overall it’s a decent place. Nice décor. Fair food. Priced a bit high. I’d go back but not at the top of my Indian list. Maybe I’ll go back for happy hour to give them another try.

This has been on top of my list of places to try for the longest time. The first time I got to experience Bombay Bar am& Grill was with a group of friends and what an exceptional experience. We ordered family style, so everyone picked a dished and we shared it amongst 5 – 6 people. I could not stop eating because the food was so good, I literally can live off naan. Tonight, I wasn’t looking to drive out and pick up food. I used my trusty Unilocal app to find me a restaurant that was open, affordable, and delivers on a Sunday night. To my surprise, I saw that Bombay was top five of the list! It was my first time using Eat24 but it was so easy to navigate. It was awesome to see that most of the dishes had images, description, and price. You just click the dish you want, type up any special requests, and you’re ready to go; with only a $ 2 delivery charge I was already a satisfied customer. I ordered the… PALAKPANEER $ 11.95 homemade cheese cooked with fresh spinach, herbs and spices. *you also get to choose how spicy you’d like it. STEAMEDBASMATIRICE $ 1.00 and of course… GARLICBASILNAAN $ 2.95 *another option is to make it with cilantro This definitely satisfied my needs and still have left over for tomorrow’s lunch! I couldn’t be any happier.

Definitely not fantastic. My chicken is incredibly dry even while it was drowning in sauce. This place should be a $ 10 lunch location but it is much more. $ 13 for your dish + $ 5 for lentils and rice. Then $ 3 for a drink and after tax and tip, expect your lunch to be $ 25. It’s good but not nearly worth it.

Not my favorite place, but it’s close by. Why isn’t it my favorite? I’m not really sure. It may be the ambiance or I don’t order the right food. I came looking for something specific, but didn’t find it. I think each place makes it a little different. The food was ok. I liked the array. I think I found a better table. The first table we sat at the couch part was too low and we were too close to the table next to us. I was in the mood for a more private table so we can have a more private conversation. We moved down 3 tables after some people left and before we ordered. We were a bit close to the wall and I banged my arm on the picture frame, but it didn’t fall and it was so much better. Location fixed. If I come on a date this is the place I want to sit.

My boyfriend and I have been on the hunt to find the perfect Indian restaurant in the Sacramento area to fill the void of our favorite place back in southern California. After hearing suggestions from his co-workers and friends about Bombay, my boyfriend suggested that we try this place out. We came on a Sunday afternoon around lunchtime and were promptly seated, as we were the first ones in the restaurant. We ordered the following items: — Chicken Tikka Masala(medium spicy): The chicken tikka masala was very flavorful. Ordering it medium spicy gave it a really good kick without setting our mouth on fire. This place definitely does not skimp on their chicken. However, I tend to like my tikka masala a bit on the creamier side. — Chana Masala(medium spicy): Probably the best chana masala I have had in Sacramento. It had lots of cilantro which added a nice refreshing element to the dish. The sauce was not too heavy and contrasted with dense flavor of the garbanzo beans. — Vegetable Samosas: The samosas came slightly under-fried(a section of my samosa was still white in color from the dough). Normally, I find samosas to be a little to heavy and dense to my liking. However, these actually tasted pretty light(despite being stuffed with potatoes and deep fried). The sauces that came with it complemented the samosas very well, especially the green mint sauce. — Garlic Naan: Nice and fresh. It really worked well with the dishes that they ordered. I tend to like my naan a little bit more on the crunchy side though. I also wished that they provided larger servings. One order was only 4 pieces, which was definitely not enough for my boyfriend and me. — Kulfi — One of my favorite Indian desserts and a must-order for me each time I see it on any Indian restaurant menu. Although they had the option of a mango kulfi, I decided on the regular one. Not the best Kulfi I had. I was expecting taste more saffron flavor, as the menu boasted it used the actual thing instead of just essences, but I didn’t really pick up much saffron. just mainly milk and some pistachio. The service was not too bad. The waiter checked up on us enough to refill our waters, but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, I had a pretty solid dining experience at Bombay. I’m happy that I tried this place out, but there are still other Indian restaurants here in the area that I prefer more and are a bit more convenient for me location-wise.

Came here because of the reviews! And man I’m glad we did. That CHICKENTIKKAMASALA… I’m in heaven. Best thing I’ve eaten all week. My friend got CHICKENCHILI with all the peppers and veggies and he loved it. The Naan is a winner fa sho. Definitely recommend this place although it’s a little pricier than other Indian restaurants. But so worth it! TRYIT.

Brought my housemate here for her birthday with a group of 5 people on a Tuesday night and it was pretty empty! We were deciding between here and Curry Club but Bombay is open later so we decided on this one. Pros: The food is GREAT. We ordered: — Chicken Coconut: good, but was overshadowed by the next two dishes. — Lamb Tikka Masala: SOGOOD. HIGHLYRECOMMEND. — Krahi Paneer: ALSOVERYVERYGOOD. Paneer(cheese) with bell peppers, onions, sauce. — Goat Cheese Naan: good, not sure if it’s worth the extra $$ — Garlic/Basil/Cilantro Naan: also good, but still might opt for plain naan just because it’s cheaper — Steamed Basmati Rice: light and fluffy, generous with portions We got our dishes with a medium spiciness, which we all agreed was perfect!(We are all pretty OK with spicy.) The dishes were very very good. Cons: The prices are quite steep, especially considering the small portions. The chicken and lamb that we ordered came in this very small steel bowls and the paneer was not huge either. Luckily we ordered carbs so we could fill up on those. Also, the service was not the best on our visit; there were about 3 people working and we had a very hard time flagging them down. However, they did check up on us 2 or 3 times and brought us a water pitcher. Overall: GREAT food, but high prices. Order those carbs! I will definitely be back :)

Honestly, I just LOVE Indian food. The place was delicious with their flavors and spices. Definitely give this place a try. We ordered: LAMBTIKKAMASALA. The best Indian dish I have eaten. Yeah, yeah, everyone loves tikka masala. But this dish was sooooo creamy and flavorful. The lamb was cooked to perfection! And lamb is hard to cook! This was beyond my favorite dish. CHICKENVINDALOO. This dish had so much spices I didn’t know what to do. It tasted so good! This was my BFs favorite dish cause he loves spices and spicy dishes. We got one thali to share because we ate most our dishes with GARLICNAAN. OMG. The garlic naan was amazing! Most places, you can barely taste the different with the regular naan and the flavor difference is super subtle, but here you can see the flavor on it! You can just taste the garlic hitting your tongue. It went so well with the sauces of the two dishes. It was so good we got a second order halfway through our meal. The service was good. They refilled our water, asked if everything was okay. Tip: Get a Groupon! You can save about $ 10. Come here on an empty belly because you will get so full!

I placed a phone order and I my first attempt I was hung up on. Although that should have been the first clue, I called back and ordered the Baigan Bharta. I was short with the server who finally helped me and she could tell I was agitated, so she apologized for the previous hang up and suggested she was trying to help me. Once I got to Bombay to pick up my order, not one of the three workers standing at the front greeted me or said anything at all. I paid for my order and left, hoping at least the food would be good. Once I got home and made a plate I noticed a hair in my food. It may have been a mistake, but after my previous interaction with Bombay only moments earlier, it crossed my mind that it might have been deliberate. I called immediately, and I knew they would soon be closed, so I wanted to let them know I’d be in today to get my money back. After explaining to the first person who picked up the phone the situation, she clearly didn’t care, and handed the phone to someone else. He said he was a supplier and no way of giving me my money back and to call back the next day to speak with a manager or owner. I just called and they were not only rude again, but told me to call back in an hour or two. The rudeness from this place is ridiculous. I posted the picture of the hair in my food on Instagram and unfortunately people commented with similar bad experiences, although they like the food. I won’t be back after tonight when I get my refund. I hope they aren’t as rude and disrespectful tonight or I may be on the news.

My second time here we got the Punjabi grill and Bombay masala. We normally order chicken masala or butter chicken as our go to but we wanted to spice things up a bit this time around. So glad we did! Punjabi grill has moist tandoori chicken and juicy vegetables to go along with it. It was a nice change from the usual«masala». That being said, Bombay masala is a must try as well! I love combining meats and I love lamb and chicken so it was perfect! Also you need to order the garlic naan. Delicious. Came here with a groupon and it was well worth the money. Without the discount, it hurts the wallet just slightly.

After scrolling through Bombay’s menu, I decided to try them out since I was craving some Indian food. I used Unilocal’s EatStreet ordering system for the first time. I must say I was impressed! I placed my order at 8:27p and received an email confirmation immediately after. At 8:47p, I received a phone call from Bombay’s driver informing me that he was waiting outside of my apartment gates. I was so thrilled that it only took twenty minutes to prepare and deliver my order. My selections included plain naan, garlic naan, mango lassi, chicken tikka masala(listed as a popular item), and saffron rice. The food was good and seemed fresh with the exception of the garlic naan. I only ordered it based on the recommendation of other Unilocalers. It was HARD and the taste reminded me of Little Caesar’s crazy bread… I can do without. Aside from the garlic naan, everything else was tasty, warm, and nicely packaged. The server was polite and gave me a menu to keep. I added an additional tip and was notified via email that the changes would be reflected on my credit card. Overall, I had a great first impression and will be ordering from them again!

They are close to getting two stars right now, but I’ll be generous by saying this restaurant is a 2.5 star place. This is the second time I’ve set foot in this restaurant, however this is the first time I’ve eaten here. The food: I ordered the lamb boti kebab with rice and naan and other fixings and my companion ordered the lal mas which is also a lamb dish. Lal mas was ordered extra spicy but the lamb boti I suppose is made with one level of heat. Lamb boti kebab(3 stars): while moist, it’s much drier than curries since this a lamb dish served on a sizzling platter. The meat wasn’t super flavorful but it wasn’t bland either. The cabbage fixings and the lemon wedge didn’t help much, but the dish wasn’t horrible. Some other side dishes in the tali were this stewed bean and lentil concoction and the stewed cauliflower with peas and carrots in a turmeric sauce. There was also a yogurt sauce similar to taziki in Greece. The fixings of the stewed lentils and the cauliflower were okay but I’ve had better in Berkeley. The yogurt sauce did nothing to add another layer to the dish and the basmati rice seemed a day old since the grains of rice stuck together. Lal mas(3 stars): the lamb is stewed in this red chili sauce which wasn’t very spicy even though we ordered extra spicy. This dish also comes with rice, lentils, cauliflower, and naan like mine. It was only okay– I think I prefer curries in general. It wasn’t spicy, it wasn’t mindblowingly delicious. Service(1 star): it took almost thirty minutes for the food to come out. That’s not acceptable. Their machine for groupon and the credit card seemed to be malfunctioning way too often since the waiter kept returning back and forth to our table saying the machine doesn’t work but then it works and oh snap it doesn’t work. And guess what, the table before us paid in credit card which worked. Something smells fishy. The only über positive things were the delicious mango lassi and the clean restroom. That’s just sad.
