One of the best hole in the wall. Love their dry style noodles. It’s a pork broth, which is authentic for Khmer noodles so u will taste the difference. Today ordered their mango salad which they FINALLY have. They are usually out of it. Super yummy if u like sour. Seasoned real well with crispy fried dried shrimp. All I can say… Yumz!

This place was good before… what happened… kind of disappointed First of all, my favorite Kapoon noodles are no longer served. We end up ordered the combination seafood and pork meat noodle soup, it was only ok. And the beef stew noodles soup tastes better than the combination seafood and pork meat noodle soup, good thing it gives you lots of tendon, and hence it got 2.5 stars instead of 2 stars. Honestly, nothing to WOW about like before… The other 0.5 stars got deducted from the services, and hence ended up 2 stars. Waitress took your order, serve you tea and water, and after your ordered came out. Nobody gave attention to you anymore. We tried to wave at them because we would like more water and tea ~ however, no luck… they pretended they busy and didn’t see you. Too bad, so sad. You just lost another customer or maybe much more in the future if your services keep up in that way.

We went in around 9:30 on a weekday morning, the server didn’t look too happy to see us but sat us down at one of the tables anyway. She kind of rushed us to order and food came pretty quickly after we placed our order. I got the duck noodles and the broth was not bad, but it had large chunks of duck which were mostly bones. Funny enough, the biggest bite was the duck butt which I was not interested in. I had 3 decent bites of the meat at most, it was basically a large bowl of soup and noodles. I don’t think I would come back to this place.

My parents wanted to try this place out because apparently it’s THE place for«Hu Tieu Nam Vang» clear noodles with an array of meats served dry with soup on the side. Besides being known for their Hu Tieu, they also offer a vast variety of Vietnamese food along with Thai options as well with both pictures and Vietnamese and Thai words to help with ordering. I cannot say I was impressed with anything at this restaurant. It’s located in a small parking lot, the place is ill lit, not very cleanly in my opinion with sticky tables and cold atmosphere. Service is okay, slightly better than your typical Vietnamese restaurant, and they do offer boosters and high chairs for kids. The server even gave me a bowl equipped with plastic silverware and scissors for my daughter, which I very much appreciated. Food was really just«okay». Noodles were all jumbled in a blob, kind of mushy, meats wet okay, the sauce was good and the broth was flavorful. However, I can’t say I was impressed enough to return.

It’s still the only restaurant for my favorite Hu Tieu Nam Vang(dry clear noodle) in Sacramento! Other dishes were good as well, service is slow and lots of dirty tables

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times with my sisters and have always ordered the same chicken noodle bc my sister raves that this place has the best chicken noodle and of course I beg to differ. The chicken noodle does taste good but I haven’t found a restaurant that can surpass Phở Bolsa. My review is actually really on the Hieu Tieu Nam Vang(I think that’s how it’s spelled) /Phong Phenm(something like that). I ordered this dish in dry style. Per previous Unilocal reviewers this dish is the best. When the dish came and I tasted it and thought it was just okay. Nothing to write home about. The soup that came with the dish was actually good though, it wasn’t drenched in MSG. As I was eating my dish I was searching for the seafood that was suppose to be part of the dish. The end result there was only ONE-UNO-1 shrimp, where’s the seafood at? I think this dish should’ve been called pork noodle and not seafood. As another previous Unilocaler mentioned they do skimp on the meat/seafood. I will still be back to try other dishes. Maybe I’ll find something that I’ll rave about. BTW, the service here is just okay. We were literally only the patrons here but there were several tables that were messy and should have been cleaned up. I know the tables could have been cleaned bc I was outside waiting for the hubs to show up before I entered the restaurant. Guess cleaning up a table when there’s no one there shows that they aren’t busy or they don’t care to clean until they feel like it.

We recently did a large group gathering here. They were very accomodating, even though we were there an hour before their close time. Our waitress was friendly(for an Asian restuarant), we got pitchers of water, and all our orders were right. Prices are good, between $ 6 – 9 for most things. They have a large menu selection with a variety of noodle dishes. My friends love it because they serve«dry» phở with broth on the side. The portion sizes were average. I got Pad See Ew, and asked for tofu even though the menu only has beef or chicken. She did tofu no problem. They added extra yummy things like baby corn to my dish. When it came time to pay, she had no problem letting us come up to the register and pay one by one. Good experience, good food. If it wasn’t 40 minutes from my house, I would go all the time.

After river rafting and on the way back home, my friends were all exhausted and in dire need of something soupy. We came by Bamboo Noodle House 15 mins before closing time with 30 people and they were nice enough to stay late and serve all of us. We all ordered hu tieu nam vang, just to make it easy for them to make and our food was good. I wouldn’t say that it’s the best hu tieu I’ve ever eaten, but it wasn’t bad. Everyone seemed pretty content with their food and price wasn’t bad either so I left a happy camper — also, their Thai tea was yummy.

I’ve seen this restaurant for awhile now passing by and thought I’d try it. When I went in the restaurant had a strange smell and no one greeted us so we just sat down ourselves. It was very cold in there and their bathroom lights were not working but their was a flash light available. We did get the menus and ordered. Their phở was decent but to me it was pricey. $ 8.91 for a large bowl and it wasn’t large compared to other restaurants. I didn’t get a lot of meat. I’m not sure if i will be back but I might just so I try their Kapoon.

Disappointing. I ordered drunken noodles.. . and I was less than satisfied. They were sweet? the chicken tasted like that fatty, crummy chicken you get when you decide to shop for meat at walmart. I’ve had better.. .

FOOD: I ordered #26(small) and my friend order #20(large). They were both really delicious. The broth was flavorful and aromatic. Once the food came out, the display of each were extremely appealing. What I liked most about this restaurant was that each noodle bowl came with A LOT of noodles. At other restaurants, when you order a large they just add extra broth in a fatter bowl –__-” but at Bamboo Noodle House, the large proportion of noodles is HUGEEE. #26– teo chow noodles ! I’m teo chow so I know what authentic teo chow noodles taste like. & this restaurant raised the bar for that type of noodle. It’s super tasteful and it included soft meat, few medium size chunks of chicken, 2 or 3 fishballs(not sure cause I forgot ~___~), and one big shrimp. And their noodles are the fat flat white long noodles ^_^ YOMz. There’s also chopped up fried garlic to add extra taste and flavor. SERVICE: our waitress was super friendly. She was really patient with us when we kept telling her we needed a couple of minutes to look over the menu. And she came out right away with our food and drinks. OVERALL, my first experience here was great. I would def come back and prolly order the same thing! I would also want to try #25 bc I asked the waitress what she thought was the best noodle dish and what was most popular. She chose #25! So I will come back –maybe next week :3

Fell in love with this place. They have really good bo luc lac(shaken beef with red rice) which my boyfriend always orders. We used to always go lollibowl just for that. Now he insists on coming here for it :) A must try is their dry style nam vang. I prefer the rice noodle option. It has a lot of flavor and the soup that comes on the side is always steaming hot.

We got here around 11am on a Sunday. I presume it would be busy and it was. As we got into the restaurant the waitresses didn’t provide some sort of signal that they will seat us shortly or let us know there is a wait. I read all the reviews of how this restaurant is slow in service, but wanted to experience it myself before confirming it. My boyfriend and I ordered first before a family next to us, but they still received their order first. I had the Hu Tieu Nam Vang which is what they are known for. It was okay, nothing great about it. The portion was really small and lacked ground pork. I prefer Co Do restaurant over this place.

Don’t come here unless you like horrible customer service! My son wanted phở and we usually go to siagon bay down the street, but we heard this place was good so we decided to try(first mistake!) My son ordered a large and out came a supposed large bowl overflowing with soup. when he mixed it, it kept spilling. no one bothered to come wipe the table or even ask if we needed refills on the water. furthermore, he said the phở was«alright». can I suggest the owner get actual LARGE bowls… As for my order, I ordered ginger fish with rice. there was barely any ginger(the best part) and the fish texture was really soft. I think others might like that style, but I prefer a more solid sturdy fish. I didn’t get any silverware, so I used a fork that came with my son’s phở. it’s very hard to eat rice with a fork I don’t care what anyone says. #teamSPOON… I saved the worst for last. We ordered egg rolls. everyone knows egg rolls are deep fried and crispy. 5 out of 6 of the egg rolls were perfect. but the last one, my son noticed was kind of soft and looked like it was sitting in water?(i have a picture!) I told the waitress very politely if I can have a new one. she replied«NO!» And went on to explain something I didn’t understand because she mumbled and turned her back and walk away! Is that how you treat customers?! BITCH! NEVERNEVERNEVERAGAINWILL I COMEHEREANDIMTELLINGALLMYFRIENDSANDFAMILYANDALLMY UnilocalPEPSTOO. I forgot to mention that their soap in the bathroom doesn’t even lather. I suspect it’s not even soap, maybe just green colored water. How does the employees and customers get their hands clean?

So I actually only ended up at Bamboo Noodle House because Bön Mua was closed but I’m really glad I did! I never thought to dine here because it doesn’t look like much from outside and it’s in a teeny tiny plaza that may not even qualify as a plaza. Because of this, I was really impressed upon entering. It was actually pretty spacious inside and they did attempt to decorate the place. Based on Unilocal photos, I decided on the Lad Na, which is like chow fun and I love chow fun. My friend ordered their Roasted Duck Egg Noodle Soup in hopes of finding a place as good as the one we love in San Diego. I added shrimp to my Lad Na for an extra dollar and since the dish is so cheap already, I highly recommend anyone else to do the same. My lad na came out first and, although it may have been because we were starving, we devoured it! The flavor and consistency is on point! The egg noodle soup wasn’t as good as our favorite spot in SD but it was close enough. All in all, I was a happy girl. Will be back to try their Hu Tieu Nam Vang!

4 words: HUTIEUNAMVANG I’ve brought just about everyone here. I just can’t get enough. Their portions & taste are always consistent. I’ve been here so many times, I’ve lost count. You’ve got a hole in the wall restaurant that does not concentrate on service. If you’re coming here expecting upscale service, you ain’t getting it. I’ve tried their pad Thai, egg rolls, wings, and random other stuff. It’s decent but I always go back to my first love, hu tieu nam vang. I have order it every way possible w/all different types of noodles. Love them all. They used to be slow a couple years back but now I’m happy to say they’ve gotten so busy! Good for them!

I think I came here on a slow day because as other Unilocalers mention slow service, what I experienced was different. I’d have to come in another day to really witness that. Bamboo is in the middle of a ghetto ass shopping plaza — next to an outdoor produce market, in front of a sketchy old-school beauty supply store, and a few random you-don’t-want-to-go-there stores. I had a mad craving for pad thai and I really wanted to try something different from Thai Garden(small portions, expensive). I tried the yellow curry and the pad thai. For below $ 8 each, their portions were huge! The pad thai was enough to serve two people alone. Although it lacked some flavor and had a more dry style to it, it was still really good. Yellow curry was good, similar to what I’ve tasted in the past. I’m very curious to try their hu tieu nam vang so expect another review from me!
