Love love love this place. The food was amazing. The service was prompt. The person who served us was the owner and he made sure we tried all the best stuff on the menu. He was very attentive and helpful. I’m very happy that I don’t have to drive to Reno for good sushi anymore. Matter of fact, this is the best sushi I have had thus far

The service was horrible. I met a friend for lunch. Took them longer than usual to bring us water and take our first order. They did not check up on our table at all after our food came out. The food came out very slowly. No refills on our water either. The wait staff walked by plenty of times because we were seated right in the middle where wait staff traffic crossed constantly. It’s all you can eat only if you have 2 or more hours to spare while you wait for them to take additional orders from you. I wish I had known it would be like this and I would have ordered 7 different items at once. Food was not that remarkable to make me reconsider coming back even with the bad service. To add, when we were ready to leave I could not get the attention of any of the wait staff so we had to go up to the register to be able to pay and leave.

Made to order All You Can Eat at lunch and dinner. Very wide assortment of items and many specialties. Spicy Assorted Sashimi was a hit! Hot Spoons were good and different.

Came here for their AYCE dinner. I can’t get enough of the salmon carpaccio. And hot spoons. And pacific sunrise. I’ll just say salmon carpaccio again… Because I can just order that my whole dinner. It is perfectly seared and I have no clue what they put in their sauce but I love it! I’ve tried their rolls, and I much prefer their raw selection. The rolls have too much rice to fish ratio for my taste, and I feel like they tack on the rice so you get full faster. Nope sorry. Didn’t fool me. Fish is always fresh and tasty. Their plating is nice. Ambiance is nice, restaurant is clean. Def would recommend for a raw AYCE sushi dinner. It’s a little on the pricy side, as it comes to around $ 30/person, but for all the raw fish you get, I think it’s worth the price.

This really was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had! The service was terrible, they wouldn’t let us sit at the bar like I love to. Everyone at the table wanted all you can eat, but they wouldn’t include a hand roll, which was all I wanted, so I just ordered one hand roll at 4.95. Our waitress seemed to be confused by our custom requests, belittling me for my custom no-rice hand roll, and even laughed. I swear she made everything seem so confusing and difficult, that We almost just didn’t want to put in another order. When my hand roll came, it had 3 tiny pieces of not very fresh sushi. The other two at the table got all you can eat and all the food was low quality. No one took our menus, refilled our waters, removed any plates. Don’t recommend

This place is so cute! They have a nice varied lunch menu It’s all you can eat and for $ 16 it is totally worth the price! Their mixed tempura was hot and fresh. It was really delicious. I have not seen a lot of all you can eat sushi places offer a nice variety of side dishes. I was tempted to order some other dishes but was too stuffed I had their spider, crunch, California, and shrimp tempura roll. And each one was really delicious. I’m really glad each plate only had five pieces so I could try a bit of everything The service was very good, the décor and cleanliness was quite superb as well! Honestly this will be my place to go!

First time there & we’ll be back for sure! The sushi is delicious. I’ve been to a few other sushi buffets where it would be a total different kind of roll just because they add avocado or something lol. This place has good variety & such unique flavors! It’s about the same price per person as other sushi buffets, but this is actually worth it all. The owner is such a sweet man. I didn’t know what to order because there were so many options, but he asked me what flavors I was looking for & he just keep serving us with all different types. They were all soooooo delicious! I think we found a new sushi place that will be a ‘must-try’ if here in the area. Don’t go if you already ate — starve & eat as much as you can there! That’s the thing about buffets. Make your moneys worth. My friends & I will be back for sure & I def recommend this place. :)

All you can eat sushi at a decent price with quality ingredients! It’s hard to find a buffet that goes for quality over the quantity of their food, but Azukar is one of the few. The staff are excellent. The wait staff are quick in(re)taking your order, filling your water, etc. The chefs are efficient in making the orders, especially during rush hour. Hands down, good experience for AYCE sushi. Go go go!

Write down your rolls on the table sheet they lay down and cross them off as you order or they won’t bring everything in hopes that you forgot so they can save if you waste, also they push for appetizers so you can get full quicker. Order hot tea and water cause it takes a long time for them to refill drinks. Basic all you can eat lunch menu but awesome dinner menu!

In a nutshell – I like this place! The people are nice, the all you can eat menu is awesome and the sushi is decent. I went around 8pm and have been there two other times for mid-week dinner. The staff has always been very friendly. The sushi is good enough – I like the Pacific Sunrise and the fact that you can get small orders of everything! If you are a sushi snob, then maybe don’t come here, but if you like to eat a lot of different kinds of sushi once in a while, this is a great place! My guilty pleasure is the mini doughnuts you can order. I know they aren’t sushi but they are super fresh, piping hot and delicious! :) Drinks are on the expensive side, so maybe just stick with water.

Second time here, it was around 2:40. Wasn’t busy but service from 3 servers was slow. I wish they would be more on it in terms of getting my food to me faster. I ordered a couple orders of hamachi carpaccio and they gave me a little at a time making me wait for another round each time. I just wanted it all to come out and eat it all at once. I was with my baby niece and it doesn’t help that they can only stay still for so long. Don’t get me wrong, their food is great and the servers are nice people I just hate that I spent 2.5 hours in the restaurant mostly waiting for another round of my hamachi to come out. I didn’t even get to fully get the worth of my meal because I had to get this baby out of the restaurant before she makes a mess and cries up a storm. I appreciate that they didn’t charge her for her teriyaki chicken and rice that she couldn’t finish(I don’t eat chicken). It was just a frustrating experience for me. I ordered another miso soup from one girl and she forgot. Then I ordered rice and she forgot. I tried to be understanding but I paid $ 26+tax to be half full. I love the food but I don’t think I’m coming back again. My husband even told me to give them a 3 star the first time we went because of the terrible service but I felt bad and wanted to give them the benefit of a doubt that they were busy and the food was just too good. So I gave them a 4 star but sadly the slow service today just did it for me.

I must admit, this is only my 2ndAYCE experience and I am quite happy… and full. Like, really full guys. At first I wanted to rate this place a 3 out of 5. Reason? Sashimi wasn’t on the AYCE menu and the waitress kept hovering over me to get her orders from the chefs for the other tables(I sat at the sushi bar). I did have an issue with the taste if their spicy tuna. How ever, i sent it back with no problem. So then I continued to order more food and increasingly started to like everything more More and more! I like that rolls aren’t full size so I could try different ones without the fear of having left overs. I had: Wakame salad Salmon nigiri x 2 Alaskan roll, add cream chz x 2 Spicy tuna roll Gyoza Nigori sake bottle Total bill: $ 27 … ONLY! After my meal, the sushi chefs and server brought me two different specialty pieces of nigiri and it was at that moment that I decided I love this place. I wouldn’t choose to return for dinner because there are other places in the city that are less expensive that include sashimi on the menu(mana in arden).

This place is awesome! $ 16 for all-you-can-eat sushi lunch is such a great deal. In NYC, something like this would be $ 30+ per person. Their sashimi is always fresh, maki rolls are delicious, hand rolls are great, and freshly fried donuts are awesome! Christine the waitress/manager is very sweet. She’s not there every day, but when she is, be ready for excellent service. If you’re in the Natomas area, I highly recommend Azukar for your sushi fix.

Delicious All-You-Can-Eat(AYCE) Sushi In South Natomas! SITREP I love all-you-can-eat. And I love sushi. So to put an «All-You-Can-Eat-SUSHI» spot on the map is music to my ears… er…TUMMY. THESETUP Situation in the Bel Air shopping area, Azukar is conveniently accessed right off W El Camino and has free parking in the large lot, which is something that always impresses my Bay Area friends when they come here with me(and isn’t that kinda sad too when one lives in a population-dense area like SF and often the FIRST decision to make on whether to hit a particular spot is whether there is reasonably priced AND accessible parking?) THEMENU You are given a menue of sushi rolls and then you get to go down the list, asking for your first three(3) selections, knowing that you will get to select more sushi rolls when you finish the first ones. All the rolls I had were excellent: * The Red Dragon Roll(My Favorite!) * The Volcano Rolls!(Also a favorite: Tuna, crab & jalapeño) * The Super Dynamite Roll(average — and which is stated as — I kid you not — a «Deep-fried Spicy raw fish roll» — maybe it’s just me? But when something is «deep-fried» it ceases to be «raw», right?) * The Spicy Tuna Roll(above average) * The Philly Roll(another favorite — Eel, cream cheese, cucumber, topped with smoked salmon & tobiko w/miso creamy sauce) * The Buffalo Rolls(very unique to me — first beef sushi roll I’ve had — I’ll say it was interesting and I’ll probably have it again, so I’ll give them that — but it’s more of a «novelty» if you ask me, like«garlic ice cream») SUSHICHEFS! Full high marks for Azukar’s team of sushi chefs! They are outstanding professionals! And they are the reason I will return to Azukar. CUSTOMERSERVICE It’s okay. Unlike Raku, for example, where you have one individual connecting with you all the time, Azukar employs the«whatever employee is in your area at that moment» will assist you. Meaning, there is a lot of plausible deniability that allows mistakenly ignoring a customer for nearly 10 minutes to fall through the cracks. * «I thought you were following up with them?» * «No, I thought you were checking on their next order?» Etc. etc. But it isn’t TOO egregious. THEPRICE At just around $ 15 for eating all the sushi rolls you can to heart’s content, you can’t beat that set-up! THELOWDOWN Definitely put Azukar on your list of sushi spots to visit, especially if you have a number of people in your party who can’t agree on anything in order to make a consensus even if your life depended on it!

The first thing I would like to mention is how beautiful their plating and appearance of their food looks. Every item that came out was a sight to see. This place is a little more expensive for the average AYCE sushi(about $ 25/person dinner). Very nice variety. This place reminds me of Raku Sushi. They have a sushi menu to order from. Then there’s a ton of appetizers and little unique dishes you can order from. I HIGHLYRECOMMEND the Ahi(?) Nachos~ sounds a little funny but the«cheese sauce» they use is not the usual nacho cheese sauce. It’s their own creamy/sweet house sauce with very thin chips that are made from fried wonton papers(?) which resembles tortilla chips. Anyways, you gotta try it to understand! The sushi rolls are self explanatory. The menu tells you what’s inside each roll, so you know exactly what you’re ordering. Soda drinks are by the can and not fountain refillable. Service was great. Dishes got cleared from our table consistently. The servers were friendly and helpful. The owner is very nice with a great sense of humor. However, he was a little pushy regarding ordering. He kept reminding us we were ordering too much and would be charged for it(he doesn’t know about our appetite and how much we can really eat). We feel a bit pressured but it wasn’t a big deal. Definitely would be back of we’re ever craving a nice sushi dinner and have a little extra cash to dish out.

Haven’t had all you can eat sushi in a while but I was still sick of the selection of rolls at Raku and Nami so wanted to give this place another shot. The rolls have definitely improved from the last time. A lot less rice, more well made, etc. The carpaccio appetizers have gotten smaller though and my hot spoons selection of fish went from tuna to tilapia(a cheaper fish.) On top of that it was still frozen/defrosting(not just a few pieces, both spoons.) They also don’t serve the Sweet Lips anymore which is a shame. While the food has gotten better the service was so so much worse. One of the positives of the service here is that unlike Raku, they don’t tend to forget your orders as easily so you’re not left there waiting if you should order more or not. However, you ARE left there waiting for someone to come by to take your order in the first place. The service was fast on our first round. But no one came to serve us in a 15 minute even though we had received and eaten all our food. If it was busy, I’d understand. But there was one other table and one person at the bar. The service later on in the night was slower but on the more normal side. However, the biggest issue I had was the owner/server’s awkward comments. I’ve come here before and he was the sweetest guy but I’m guessing after working here a few years he’s lost his joy. My friend and I were both starving so we ordered about 10 rolls and 5 orders of unagi nigiri(~40 pieces + 10 pieces of nigiri) and the owner had the audacity to say«that’s a lot of food. are you sure?» It wasn’t a joking laugh either… So yeah… thanks for making us feel awkward… Since there was less rice and we were so hungry we easily ate what we received. While eating, I heard him make the same comment at another table. We ordered much less in round 2 out of embarrassment and we couldn’t even muster up the courage to ask for any more food after that even though we weren’t completely full yet, so I guess his little tactic saved him some money. Either way I won’t be coming back. I wanted to give Azukar another shot but I don’t go to AYCE sushi often anymore and when I do I want to drown myself in overindulgence and not be ashamed while doing it. Shame, cause the quality of the food actually did get better but I don’t want to deal with this kind of service.

Came back again today because I couldn’t stop thinking about sushi. I was seated right away and my order was promptly taken. Before I could even check into Unilocal,my rolls and nigiri were already being served. I paced myself and tried a few more rolls that I didn’t get to try last time. Service was on point throughout my entire meal. It seemed effortless the way they stopped by my table in between servings and inquiring if I wanted something else. I never had to wait for the next course to arrive. My drink was always topped off and I never had to look for a server at all. The best part didn’t even happen to me. The lady at the table next to me ordered 3 side items and 1 roll before asking for her check. Her waitress said that it’s all you can eat and inquired if she wanted something else. The lady said no because she was full. The server then told her she wouldn’t charge her full price since she hardly ate anything. I thought that was really cool. The server didn’t have to give her a discount. The lady said she didn’t mind paying full price. I’m not sure what she ended up charging her, but I thought it was great customer service.

Every once in awhile, my colleagues and I will decide on a place to have lunch together. When one of them suggested Sushi buffet, I thought immediately«Mizu again?!» because we work in the Natomas area. I was corrected and told that there is another sushi buffet that’s even closer! When I heard the name Azukar. I thought of how familiar it sounded. And sure enough, it was confirmed with the server that they use to be located downtown as a club/restaurant. Now that they are located in Natomas, it’s strictly just sushi buffet. No more dine and dance folks. Onto the menu, the lunch menu here offers a large variety of rolls(18 to choose from). Some innovative rolls including Yakitori Roll which has grilled chicken with cream cheese and lettuce inside, Buffalo Roll that features grilled beef with onion and sweet ginger, and for the veggie lovers, Fresh Garden. a new roll that includes vegetable tempura and fruits inside while topped with avocado and a fruit sauce(sounds interesting right?! Wait til you try it!). The menu has gone through a few changes. Not only did they add a few rolls, but the price of the AYCE have gone up from $ 12.95 to $ 14.95. In addition to that, gratuity went up from 15% per party of 5 to 18% per party of 5AND Sashimi Side orders, which are not included in the AYCE price, went up from $ 2.45 per 5 pieces order to $ 3.95. Most of the rolls are 5 pieces by the order. All but the Super Dynamite which only comes as 4 pieces. Although Sashimi are charged additionally, I find that $ 3.95 is still quite a decent deal for 5 pieces. There was only one dish that stood out the most to me. Their teriyaki chicken. Man. the meat was super tender and juicy! Our table ended up ordering multiple orders of the teriyaki chicken plate. It must also be the reason why I enjoyed their Yakitori Roll the best out of everything that I tried, the chicken here is really something. I enjoyed the desserts here, I do wish they offer something creamy to pair with their deep fried items. The deep fried bananas are like mini churros since they top it with cinnamon sugar and chocolate syrup. The sesame balls are filled with red bean paste instead of the yellow mung beans that I am use to eating. Service here is great, they servers are actively walking around and catering to each table’s needs. Ours was quite on top of things but we did notice she forgot our single order of gyoza. even though she was the one who insisted that we order one! Woops. No worries, we were quite satisfied with everything else. I’d give this place a 3.5 stars if I could. I do enjoy the food quality and service here, but the price is what hits me the most. I do find the quality of the sushi here better than Fuji’s but it isn’t THAT noticeable to be priced the way it is now. It won’t be the last time I’m going here, but it may be awhile until I come back.

I would say 4 stars on food. But customer service knocked them down. I have been to this restaurant a few times now, and finally feel comfortable to make my review. This AYCE sushi restaurant is located inside the Bel Air shopping center on Truxel and W. El Camino kinda in a not so welcoming side of Natomas. When you walk into the establishment, you do feel somewhat… unwelcomed. Everyone stares at you with somewhat of a unhappy look, and takes a while to seat. Regardless if it is for lunch, linner, or dinner. There are approximately 20 tables, of which there is a fresh sheet of white paper laid on for each party. It is All You Can Eat, which is nice for either $ 15(lunch) or $ 24(dinner). I like to try all diff types of items, and enjoy mixing it up with my brother and I. So we just order like 10 rolls(mind you it only comes as 5 pieces folks) and then we share it. Soda is not fountain drinks there, you pay per can, just FYI. The customer service, is slow. It is awkward, and kind of almost like you are bothering them, however the sushi is good. Don’t forget the donuts!
