Great place, cozy layout and amazing food, such a shame that the building burned down, i hope they will rebuild soon, bigger, better and stronger!

I came here on a Monday night for dinner with a friend. Yes, they are open again(check out my tip for the new address)!!! I’ve been wanting to try this place out for ages but was so heartbroken when it had a fire and closed down the original location. So glad I stumbled upon the new place. We sat outside on the deck as many of other guests were as well. It’s a nice place to enjoy food on a sunny day. We also partly sat outside because of the hookah. I ordered pasta and my friend ordered salad and calamari. My pasta was good but I had to keep adding some salt to it. For dessert we had a chocolate ice cream, banana and strawberry topped waffles and boy was it good. The waffle tasted slightly stale but with all that yummy chocolate and strawberry’s, I didn’t mind. Service was good and the staff were attentive to all the guests. It was pretty packed for a Monday night. It is BYOB, which I noticed some guests were given ice buckets for their bottles. The hookah, which I did not expect too much from being that it’s a restaurant and dessert place first, is actually not bad at all. I was pleasantly surprised. Coal service was a bit slow, but I reckon it isn’t a big priority. One thing that really ruins the setting is the fact that it’s right next to the NJTRANSIT line. So every 20 – 30 minutes a loud and horn blowing train passes by. I was startled the first few times. Other than that, this would be a nice romantic setting or a chill night with some friends.

I love this place! It’s sad it was on fire early this morning. I hope they rebuild quickly and hopefully reopen soon! The workers were always welcoming and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was always relaxing there. Hope to see it up and running again soon!!!

More like 4.5 stars for After Athens, which is what the restaurant part is called. Get some hookah outdoors during spring, summer, or fall. Pairs well with greek coffee or chai tee, and an extensive Greek menu. Transports me back to Europe each time we visit because of the open-air feel, and tasty food. I usually order a gyro, with Greek fries(notice a trend here? :) or hummus with pita breads. Drawbacks: As in in Europe, everyone smokes… heavily. While outdoors are nice, the smoking can be a bit much, and I was often bombarded by plane noise because of it’s location.

Very good hookah available if you have seating at back patio area(heated patio). Hookah is lil pricy but good quality. Place is BYOB and has a liquor store next door. Must try spicy garlic shrimp and hummus for appetizers and perfect with hookah.

I had an excellent time when I came here. We stared by ordering food at a table inside while we waited for a table in their tented– outside area for hookah. I ordered a shrimp dish that was excellent. It had feta, tomato, garlic, and the shrimp were not over cooked. I also ordered the chicken lemon rice soup which was creamy. I was expecting it to me more like broth but is was very good. I would order it again. For dessert I had the Tiramisu that I posted a picture of. It was excellent. Definitely one of the top five tiramisu in the area. Then we went outside for hookah in the tented area. They had heat lamps on to keep us warm. It was 32 Degrees outside so we had our jackets on but at some points I would take the jacket off. So it as fairly comfortable temperature inside considering how cold it was outside. They had a good variety of tobacco. I chose the poverty and with them constantly replacing the coals it burned for at least 3 hours. It was awesome and fairly priced. I plan on going back to this place in the future.

This place gets 4 stars for its location and ambience. They have eye candy(workers and customers). The setting inside is very chill and relaxed. You can have dinner at the beautiful restaurant or hangout with friends in the lounge room, share a yummy dessert on a date at their café, or smoke in their hookah room. Regardless of the space you choose you are sure to have a great time and it’s a BYOB place(wine or beers). The music is excellent and usually sets the mood which gives the feel of an upscale place in NYC. Unfortunately, the only bad thing is the fact that few of the staff are unfriendly and not eager to assist. One has to chase them down for Orders etc. If you encounter this issue, just speak to a manager on site. They are always willing to help and make sure that no issues will ruin a potentially good time for their customer.

Considering the fact tat there aren’t many hookah places around, this is a decent place to fill your lungs with some nourishing smoke. They have a usual restaurant in the front, which is further partitioned into a dine-in room, a sofa room and a semi-private room. Now you go past all these and enter the hookah lounge which is kind of an outdoor patio with a ceiling and room heaters for winter. It gets very noisy in the hookah lounge and the seating is very close to other fellow smokers. We ordered an apple hookah with milk and I found it to be pretty light and underwhelming. I ordered Belgian waffles and I have to say I wasn’t impressed. They were just okay. So here’s why you might like this place: — nice and spacious ambiance with indoor/outdoor seating — BYOB place — friendly and attentive service — food is okay

My Favorite place in town! I love the food and going there with friends but most of the time I get take out, I have had the chicken Caesar wrap a billion times, mom always gets the panini. There desserts are to die for and crème brûlée and molten lava cake and triple chocolate cake also the chai shakes. They also have hookah and venue for parties and such next door. It’s very lively and now I am hungry and want eros !

I love to hate this place. :D I feel like I have and will spend a significant Amt of my 20’s hanging out on the back veranda with my friends sipping on an awesome bottle of red wine from the o so conveniently placed liquor store right next door. I am obsessed with their octopus appetizer. Little olive oil. Grilled to perfection yum ! I seem to always go for the kefta platter(I think I spelled that right) they are little beef patties seasoned to perfection. With the yummiest tziki sauce for dipping and fresh salad. The staff is normally chill and young. But do not come here for a «quick meal» patience is a virtue at this place. You can end up waiting a while just to get their attention… but… maybe it’s just me. :/ Overall I enjoy euros. They have a beautiful and comfortable atmospher, make their food stand out, and the Hookah… well need I say more ??? :D Enjoy.

First things first: HUGE missed opportunity for a porno espresso bar to not take the name Eros Café. Am I the only one who mentioned this? I ain’t scrolling through 200ish reviews to confirm or refute. Eros Café has been one heck of a good delivery spot for me. There are points of improvement that can happen for sure. Let’s talk the big one: the pricing on the dips/spreads is NOT commensurate with what you actually get. Six bucks for taramosolata gets you a WONDERFUL taramosolata, but not nearly six bucks’ worth. You get about six tablespoons. They load you up with a lot of freshly griddled pita bread, which is a nice way of doing it up to seem closer to homemade, but I’m 99% that it’s just Toufayan’s or whatever foodservice pita happens. If it’s homemade, it’s good, but if it’s not homemade, the griddling helps a great deal. My other real complaint is the delivery times can be hit-or-miss. They finally started getting their act together — they told me 30 minutes today, and boom, it was 30 minutes. The rest of it, though? Pure quality. When you order spanakopita, you get two perfect triangles that look like they came from your high school geometry textbook’s illustration of the Pythagorean theorem. They are DENSE, too. Every time I order the spanakopita, I think«that won’t be enough, I should just get one of the spreads to bring it above the delivery minimum» and end up eating too much food. These triangles fill up 50% of the cubic space of a standard delivery foam container and they do so with dense gusto. The phyllo is still crispy on top and yielding just above the spinach, it has just enough feta and egg to be a wonderful proteiny-veg mixup. I am in love with their skordalia, not because it’s a garlicky pool of wonder which affirms the fact that my poor wife’s garlic allergy is unfairly denying her the words of the Prophet, Garlic be Upon It, but because it’s so perfectly textured. Sure, they blend the heck out of it, but it’s creamy in its texture. Something is done to get it this way. Their gyros are nicely done — not the spongy Kronos crap, but made in-house. Another ding against them, though — toppings are extra as are substitutions. I found this out the hard way when I asked for half lamb half pork and got charged extra for each — along with the extra onions and tomatoes. Come ON, guys, is it really that necessary to upcharge for something already thrown onto dishes with reckless and Greco-modern abandon? The Greek fries they serve are AMAZING. Don’t expect the traditional lemon potatoes, they take their regular foodservice shoestring fries, sprinkle them with feta, lemon, salt, and oregano. It’s wonderful, especially if you’re so fortunate as to get crispy, overcooked fries. I like ‘em like that. I also wish they’d have more interesting sandwiches but what can you do… they want to appeal to a broad crowd. It’s not After Athens next door, which does proper Greek food, but it’s Eros Café. One item that I don’t factor into consideration, while they do have online ordering via , their chicken mozzarella sandwich is listed as $ 880., instead of $ 8. Thus, you actually have to call a human if you desire the mutz(but you should be ordering any sandwiches with fresh mutz from Annabella’s anyway, so there is very little to miss). I like Eros Café. Greektown Gyros up the road does a better cheese pie, and their spanakopita is a whole different style, but they don’t deliver. Until they do, it’s the path of Eros for me.

I had an awesome time with my girlfriends, but the service was abysmal and the food is mediocre. I have no doubt I’ll be back, but only for hookah and nothing else. Water? You have to ask at least 3x. Ice for your ice bucket? Try waiting an hour. Tongs and plates for your hookah? I just got up myself and grabbed some from the shelf since it was clear I was going to go gray before anyone was going to get anything done for us. BYOB though!

Great spot in Rutherford. Went here late one night with the wife looking for any eateries that were still open and found Eros. From a food standpoint, we ordered the spanaktopia(which was excellent with a very big portion), a Brie and Apple dish that was wrapped in a phylo drizzled with honey which was yummy, and a tiramisu(didn’t keep well on the way home, but still very tasty) to go. While waiting, we talked to the manager Javier who was very helpful and took time to show us the premises since my wife gets involved at times with event planning. Very nice establishment! Last but not least, they have a parking lot which is a nice find since most of Rutherford is street parking only. I would definitely come back again…

So this is actually a really nice spot in Rutherford that’s open very late compared to other restaurants. It’s open on fri and sat till 3am and it’s BYOB! It has parking in the rear by entering a one way street on Glen Road. I was very surprised on how big the place was. They had outdoor seating in the back and the front. In the back they had hookah and lots of flavors to choose from. As we walked towards the front, noticed other areas and walk thrus and wondered where it all lead to. Ended up meeting Javier, the manager, who was very nice and gave us a tour. Great place to hold parties of either 55 or 100. So on to the food. We just came for a late night snack and got the $ 5.00 spinach pie which was delicious! And a nice portion. Then for the apple Brie which I thought had a lot of cheese was too much for me. My husband enjoyed it more than me. I wasn’t much of a fan that’s why I gave it 3 stars. Their tiriamasu was tasty but not the best. Overall I will definitely try it again. Don’t stir away from this place, they do have a lot to offer.

I technically give Eros 3.5 stars. I arrived with 2 friends and asked if we can sit in the outdoor seating area. We were expecting 2 more people to join us. The tables are relatively small, so we asked if we could put two tables together and our server said«oh well I will add 2 more chairs» Adding 2 chairs to a table clearly made for 4 people seemed a little strange, but we were in a good mood and didnt complain. I really liked the décor. It was somewhat rustic with hanging plants. There is also hookah available and cigarette smokers are permitted to smoke outside(leave the kiddies at home) I as well as one friend ordered the buffalo chicken panini and a salad. It was put together very nicely and had just the right amount of spice. The portion was huge. We both took the other half to go. Another friend had the beef gyro. It had good quality meat and the fries were crisp and well seasoned. The couple with us ordered some decadent looking crêpe thing and by the way they basically inhaled it, it is safe to say it was delicious! I personally don’t care much for sweets, but if that’s your thing, then this is the place for you. They have an extensive dessert and coffee menu. Service was a bit slow. It seemed to take forever to get our check.(close to 20 minutes) It wasn’t really that busy. I did notice that many of the tables seated when we got there were still there when we left. This seems like a place where people like to stay awhile. I guess they have lunch, smoke some hookah, stay for dessert and then more hookah.(nothing wrong with that in today’s rush rush society) It is also Byob! Grab a group of friends, stop next door and pick up a bottle of wine, and have a nice leisurely lunch session!

This place was awesome! The hookah was much cheaper and stronger than other hookah places I’ve had in the past. Plus, their flavors were very varied. We had«Sex on the Beach» with a grapefruit on the hookah component! Their food was pretty good — they have a larger menu than they had a couple of years ago so I was impressed by that. The vibe was very laid back and we were on a double-date that between us, the food, the vibe and the hookah we all had a great time. The service was decent although I could tell that our initial server was a bit flustered from all of the orders and had a little help when it came to giving us our hookah and food. The beverages were very, very good — I had the Mexican hot chocolate and it was delicious! So overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a date night or a double date night.

This place is really cute. There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and they offer hookah as well. We sat inside and ordered buffalo wings and the chopped salad. The wings were really crispy and spicy(just how I like them) and the salad was delicious. I ordered the shrimp stuffed with crab and it was really good. I loved the sauce it came in. My mom ordered the beef gyro with Greek fries. She said it was good but not the best she has ever had. They have a lot coffee drinks and desserts that looked good but we were too full. It’s also a byob. I would definitely go back.

I really like this place a lot. I’ve been coming here for years. The reason that i love it the most is because of the cozy atmosphere. They have couches in the back where you can hang/chill out THey also have an outdoor area where you can have hookah. It can get pretty packed back there especially on a nice day. Hookah is $ 18. Ive had various foods/drinks here and i’ve liked it all. I had the greek salad last night and i really enjoyed that. Greek fries are always good. Our server was very attentive. It is BYOB also which is great and they have parking in the back which is key in Rutherford. Sometimes when you sit inside service can be a bit slow but i think its b/c of the atmosphere. They dont want to bother you. If you want a place where you can come hang out, enjoy some time, grab dessert coffee hookah or a snack– give this place a shot!

This comfy little spot has been a favorite of mine for the past two years. Serving traditional and new Greek dishes, I swear they must have thee best Greek salad I have had in years. All through my pregnancy(15 months ago) I craved this salad and their beef gyro(another great dish) That comes with either the best macaroni salad I have ever had or a large helping of french fries. Wether you decide to sit inside on the lush couches or outside on one of their two patios(the one is heated for the winter months) either way the food, music and hookah will not disappoint. It does get crowded on weekends though so I would recommend going a little earlier then the people looking to smoke hookah and chill for a few hours or you may not find parking … Not to mention the great prices! For a $ 8 you get enough food to feed a horse. I will def be having my usual«girls night» out there soon…

I almost walked out of this place because of the service. I had never been here before, but have passed it a billion times driving around, running errands for work. Since I recently moved nearby, I decided I would give it a try. I walked in and was waiting… waiting…waiting…thinking, «Why is everyone glancing over at me? Did this place just open(the answer was no — they’d been open all day)? Do they even do Take Out?» A guy walks over to me, «Do you need help with something?» «Yeah, I just wanted to know if I can order take out.» Other waitress, «What’s the problem?» …Thought(Are customers usually treated like problems?) Guy, «I’m just getting her a menu.» – hands me a menu and leaves the restaurant. WTF?! Then I sit at the bar. More waiting. More thinking… Did I put enough money in the parking meter?! Am I supposed to be begging for food? Should I leave? Finally a waitress/bartender takes my order. I got the octopus salad and a gyro with Greek fries to go. All was excellent. I’ve never had octopus with big tentacles like that. So pumped about it. I’ll definitely be calling to place my To Go order in the future. The food came out relatively fast and was fairly priced. Most of the wait was just trying to get someone’s attention. They give an awesome To Go Card — 6th Order on them! Wooo Oh, and did I mention they also have hookah and are open til 3 am on the weekend? I checked in on Unilocal and got a $ 4 off deal. They def. lured me in with all their awesome deals and good food, so for now I am overlooking the god awful service.
