Upon entering the tasting room, you’re offered a free tasting of day. That felt welcoming. Most of the wines here are reds. There’s 2 tastings available, the regular and the reserve. There’s a nice little waterfall outside the tasting room building. Lots of parking available.

Rude uptight and snobby tasting room. Why go there when there are 459 other great places that actually want you to show up!

Well-distributed unicorn!!! Out of most commercialized wines, one of my loyalties belongs to BV. If you are a dry red, medium — heavy consistently follower, stop searching and spead an hour in the tasting room. There are 2 wine tasting menus, but I definitely prefer the reserve($ 35⁄4 wines). I guarentee you will step away with a velvety tartness on your palette and a warm sensation in your belly. Come talk to Sarah for an exclusive experience.

BV was our first stop on a recent weekend trip to Napa. We were welcomes with a complimentary glass of wine. We opted for the 4 glass tasting, which we were able to share/split, which was perfect since we had planned on making several stop throughout the day. I don’t remember the name of the gentleman who helped us, but all of the staff we encountered was super helpful. They even recommended additional vineyards to meet our tastebuds. Overall, excellent experience!

Pretentious service by the woman at the tasting bar. Very overpriced and stingy tastings. She tried to make us feel bad for expressing a preference for white wines because«this is red wine country.» And they didn’t tell me the total before taking my credit card. I was surprised that they don’t comp one of the tastings when you buy a bottle. I thought it was a mistake and asked and was told no because the bottle we chose was not expensive enough. Then the cashier pressured us into buying this ridiculous«wine shipper» when we asked her to wrap the bottle in tissue paper. We left feeling taken advantage of and nickel-and-dimed. Lesson learned. I can’t imagine this place gets much repeat business and we certainly won’t be back.

We reserved the Retrospective Reserve Wine Tasting, which I highly recommend — especially those who are Cab drinkers.(We did a tasting only — no tour). There are two different tasting buildings on the property and the signs are displayed well. Our tasting guide was excellent. He wanted us to discover if we prefer older vintages(90’s early 2000s) or did we prefer younger wines(2 – 5 years old). It was a great way to take the vintages from older to younger and experience the cellaring and how the wines developed. Our guide also guessed which wines we would end up loving the most at the end — and he was correct. It was a fun and great experience. The tasting didn’t feel rushed, but I would allow yourself an hour for tasting. I am happy to see BV wines at home, but like all wineries, some wines are only sold on property. My favorite wine ended up being Tapestry, which I can find in most wine shops. The location sits adjacent next to Rutherford Grille, which is a great place to eat after your wine tasting — no corking fee.

This was the first time we had ever been to BV and we went into their normal tasting room. After seeing their selection, we decided to check out their reserve tasting room. We were more interested in what this room had to offer, so we tried the reserve room wines. We enjoyed them all, especially their Georges Latour.

Brad did an excellent job showing my friends and me where the grapes are crushed and the wine made. I was really impressed by the redwood vats as well as the brass plaques honoring long service employees. This is a winery that cares about its employees as well as its wines. We spent some time in the museum and had a barrel tasting. Brad was very knowledgeable about wine making as he also has his own winery and Italian village. The wines were very good. We all bought cases of wine and one of my friends joined the wine club. Thank you, Brad! We will be back. Jill List

They offer a 2 for 1 tasting special on Unilocal, which makes BV the most affordable tasting room in the Napa area! With the special, we ended up sharing tastes of 8 out of the 9 wines they offered. My favorites were the reserve Cab and the Pinot Gris. The bottles range from $ 20-$ 80, so there’s not only a wide range of varietals but price points as well.

I love BV wines and love going wine tasting here. You must splurge on the reserve tasting, you will not regret it. The Georges de Latours are worth the investment, no matter the vintage. We recently opened a 30 year old vintage for my son’s 30th birthday, and it was exceptional. These wines cellar well, unlike some of the other vintage cult wines that did not age quite as well. A must experience winery tasting experience!

Had an excellent tasting here on a Friday. Robert was a wonderful host. Funny and insightful as we learned new ways to taste our wine that we practiced on our other stops. We did two flights and shared tastings, so we were able to try 8 of the 9 wines they were pouring that day. Definitely a great way to go if you don’t mind sharing. We were greeted with a glass of Rose as well. Going on a non-weekend is definitely the way to do it if you are drinking in the main(non-Reserve) tasting room. Robert says it can be «three deep» at the tasting bar on Saturdays and Sundays. There isn’t really a chance for the hosts to chat with any of the guests on those days. They have good discounts on wine by the half and full case, as well as a wine club, but we weren’t interested in those on this trip.

Staff here was excellent… EXCEPTCINDY. Please Retire Cindy. You made our experience to the winery awful. I would have chewed you out in front of customers and your staff but i kept it professional. The wines here are great and the other staff are truly excellent. Sonja and the other lady(beautiful newborn) who helped entertain our kids were phenomenal. Truly understanding of the experience. NOTYOUCINDY. Wonderful wines and 95% excellent staff. Would have been 100% if Cindy had not been there. Thanks. Kaushik P. S. Cindy —- not nice…

BV Winery had the most laid-back, casual, friendly atmosphere out of all of the wineries we visited yesterday. The staff was full of knowledge and our«pourer», Beau, made the visit totally worth it! He was able to answer all of our questions and was a great sport and had a wonderful sense of humor! I would definitely recommend it! :)

We went back today as we are in Napa for vacation with family and are members. The lower member room is awesome. Had some great new Cabs and bought the reserve Pino. Great hostess too. Love this club

If I were obliged to chose one word to describe this place, it would be #prettydarnawesome. I enjoyed every thing we sampled and we sampled all of the non reserve wines and one reserve. The tasting hosts are very professional and polished yet extremely personable. Our host was Robert but the others could not resist visiting with us as well and that made allege difference. We visited largely because we tasted a boutique winery’s Clone 6 and learned the grapes are from this region and the type was first produced by this winery. We also learned the other place’s winemaker worked at this winery for some time before branching out on his own so we were curious and interested in what BV had to offer. Clone 6 is $ 140 per bottle but it is that special. Sure, you could buy several of their others for a fraction of the price but there is something special about having a wine made from a vine with very few grapes and aged to perfection. Favorites — Beaulieu Vineyard Private Reserve Georges de Latour Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 09⁄750ML $ 135 — Beaulieu Vineyard Reserve Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford 10⁄750ML $ 140 — Beaulieu Vineyard Maestro Collection Chardonnay Ranch No. 8 Carneros 12⁄750ML $ 34 — Beaulieu Vineyard Maestro Collection Muscat de Beaulieu Muscat California /375ML $ 24 In addition to our wine purchase, we also bought brittle made with Cabernet($ 10.50) as it was a must buy recommendation from a BV wine club couple we met while drinking there. The food items are not discounted nor can it be sampled so we clearly had trust in our new friends, one of whom was from our hometown. If visiting the Rutherford area, you should definitely stop here.

Beaulieu Vineyard was my least favorite place we visited while wine tasting. The wine tasting room was very uncomfortable to me. I’m usually pretty comfortable and/or social person, but this place made me feel awkward. While the people working here are very knowledgeable on the wines they are serving you, they will stand there and watch you like a hawk while drinking it. This made me drink my wines faster than I normally would because they made me so nervous. I got six pours and I did enjoy about five of them. I did end up buying one bottle of wine when I was done. The lady that did my wine tasting was disappointed that I did not buy the $ 70 bottle of wine I liked and instead I bought a $ 40ish bottle that was my second choice. Ummmm, sorry I didn’t want to dish over the extra money for a wine that wasn’t worth the $ 70! They do sell BV wines in local stores by my home(like Ralph’s), but they are their lower end wines. I’ve found bottles for about $ 10 – 12 and they taste fine to me. It is worth to come here once, but I doubt I’d come back to this winery. Cheers!

Victor was wonderful. He described our wine with beautiful imagery and descriptions that enhanced the experience ten fold. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the BV tasting room and will be sure to make it a regular visit to our Napa trips in the future. Beautiful facility and phenomenal staff. Cheers to Victor and his lovely hospitality!

Review of the wines only — not an actual visit to the vineyard. We discovered these CA wines when Diageo still had their great yearly sales for friends and family. Over the years we picked up a few different ones, and while we liked most, as some have indicated in their reviews, not all are equally good. However, recently we found a red blend that’s just terrific. We were very surprised. Usually not a fan of the blends. But its priced right and is a great wine with a nice steak. Overall we have been happy with their wines, we order them by the case and they come well packaged and well shipped.

Came for the tasting because my dad had chosen this place and found that no reservation wasn’t needed for just the tasting. Only for the tours were the reservations needed. Came in and were welcomed by a tasting glass with a Pinot noir; that was something my dad had enjoyed. But after trying their première tasting, he found that the first glass was the only that he liked. I wanted to say the same. The première tasting was $ 20 a person, and you had a choice of four glasses to taste. There was about 4 whites and 5 reds to choose from. All the wines that I tasted was not really memorable. There was only one, a Cabernet blend that had a distinct peppery taste that piqued my interest but that was it. The person who poured our glasses was neither intriguing nor informative with the wines hat she was pouring into our glasses. Good thing that was only the first stop to our wine tasting day.

Our server was great with intriguing conversation and great suggestions of Napa Valley. This was the last vineyard we went to so this may influence my review a little. I enjoyed the woke at the other places better. There was a great deal for 2 for 1 from winery finder and they let me charged dead phone there too. The people are very hospitable. They have 2 tours daily at 11am-ish and 1:30pm-ish so we didn’t do a tour just a tasting. It was not a bad experience but with so many wineries in Napa and Sonoma, I wouldn’t particularly Come here next time. It is good if you have time and are looking for a good deal to pass some time.
