Dairy Queen

Went there for the first time today since moving into the neighborhood. I didn’t experience any of what the bad reviews had said. I got the baked fudge cookie sundae, my daughter had a kid cone with sprinkles, and my husband had a freeze. Everything was really yummy. I did notice they were out of the brownie batter for their brownie batter blizzard though so, maybe some of the previous reviews had some merit. I’ll be going back there a lot so, we’ll see!

Crappy business. Out of everything. Go to ANY other nearby option. I personally started going to Jim’s in Royal Oak. There are a few in the area though. This place is just a joke. I moved into town about 6 weeks ago. I tried this place 3 times and let me tell you… Time # 1 they were out of vanilla soft serve and all their pop, time # 2 they were out of dog bones for the puppy cup, and time # 3 they were out of all the freezes which also takes out many other popular drinks. Another time I was behind someone who was being told they were out of a main item as well (forgot what it was). Not sure if the owner is just stupid or if he is hiring his kids 11 year old friends to run the business. It’s like KFC running out of chicken for gosh sakes. Don’t waste time going here.

Hadn’t been to this DQ in a quite a while, now I remember why not. Ordered a peanut buster parfait, burnt fudge and peanuts that were hard as a rock… I’m sure one was rotten. Think they’ve been in the storage pantry since the paleozoic era. Threw out half way through, gross and disappointing. Won’t be returning. :P

If you like strawberry sundaes with 6 ounces of water, mashed up 3 day old «strawberry product», all wrapped up and delivered with a sneer then this is the spot for you. If it’s possible for a place that specializes in ice cream to mangle something as simple as a strawberry sundae than I don’t recommend ordering anything more complicated than a vanilla cone. I’m awarding them one star because it won’t let me leave less. Next time I’ll just throw $ 4.50 in the trash can and punch myself in the face. It would be about the same experience.

I mean is there any better soft serve than Dairy Queen? You got the twist, the sprinkles, cherry dipped, the blizzards, banana split, sundaes and slushes. I’ve tried them all and love them all. I was especially pleased with the new slushes they have. Walking into ⁷⁄₁₁ and having more than half of the flavors come out as pure water has just gotten old. I’m a lifer at DQ. Can’t wait for my free birthday blizzard later this month.
