My family’s Puerto Rican, which drives my father down to this place every once in a while to get some Puerto Rican food. Location is not ideal, as it is situated in the«no no» area of greater Boston. Parking is a headache, please, luxury car drivers, do not park your car here, you’re screaming for a jump. This is not a tourist-y area. Now, the food. I can only review fritters(or appetizers) sold here. And here is where I go in specifics. Rellenos de carne(Potato meat fillings) is a little soggy for my taste. It is pretty big in size, but not enough meat. Pastelillos or empanadas de carne(beef patties) taste home-made with nothing too special. What I do come here for is the alcapurrias, my mouth is watering already… These delicious things made of cholesterol, saturated and trans fat, sodium and everything that’s bad for you(maybe I’m exaggerating) are what’s really worth coming here for. Alcapurrias, for my non Latino friends, are made of plantains, pumpkin, potato, and meat fried to perfection. These in particular are made with corned beef and they are greasy and delicioso! However, everything they sell here cannot be compared to what they sell in Puerto Rico, so don’t get your hopes jumping in joy. The price is very comfortable. Don’t expect to go into a nice restaurant, because this place is not it! Buy and go!
