Decent food joint in Mission Hill. Good pizza, steak and cheese. Prices are better than average. Too busy to eat in — which is actually a good thing. Spanish food like empanadas and papa relleno. Ghetto fab but I’ve seen worse.

Very glad that I moved into an apartment so close to Chachos! It’s a small place and has pizza, subs, wings and Mexican food. I ordered an empenada and fried dough. The empenada was delicious! The fried dough was not bad — a little undercooked but I was happy to have fried dough in Mission Hill! The staff is very friendly and patient. This will be my new go-to place!

Really great Argentinian food. The empanadas are to die for. How good can it get with a mixture of minced meat, spices, peppers, egg in a soft but firm pastry coating? Pretty damn good! I have picked up empanadas for parties and they have disappeared within 10 mins of arriving. The place is kind if a hole in the wall– but of the best kind it can get. The people including the owner is super friendly and are always happy to chat about food or the World Cup or anything else while you wait. The prices are great and real good value for money any day. The only thing that baffles me about this place is that it looks like a generic pizza and subs place from outside. While they have great pizzas and subs, it is the Argentinian style dinners and sides that really stand out. These dishes are the superstars — why not advertise them boldly out front? That’s what sets apart this place from any pizza sub place… it is muy epico!

Ordered an Extra Large Cheese Pizza Pie w/extra sauce. The pie was HUGE for $ 16.00! Unfortunately the taste wasn’t stellar. It wasn’t horrible but it didn’t blow my mind like I was hoping. AK’s traditional cheese pizza is tastier. As for the service, it was prompt and friendly. I ordered take out and it was quick and painless. I’ll try this place again but probably not for their pizza.

Wanted to try Wan’s sub’s next door but it was closed and I was hungry so found this place. The beef Empanadas were really good especially cause they were nice & hot in contrast to Boston’s cold weather. I wanna try the ham & cheese though next time. The chicken pizza had chicken strip pieces on top and that filled me up! Cheap, good food.

The staff is nice and the food is really cheap. Empanadas are delicious and so was their rice and beans. Pizza is dirt cheap but huge size. Not much in the flavor department but by the time I load it up with all the seasonings it’s great. Fries are standard, no complaints, and huge portion for the price. Regret not trying more of their other menu items since now I no longer live close by. I know they deliver so maybe i’ll order from them sometime soon. Only gripe I had with them was their 9pm closing time.

I’m not sure what to say about this place, but the last three times I’ve tried to order a delivery they were«not delivering today». Frustrating since I’ve heard so many good things about the pizza and I’ve been wanting to try it, but it’s a little out of the way to make it a destination. So unfortunately the poor rating is due to the lack of service(i.e. delivery) and not because of the quality of their food, of which I’ve never had the pleasure of tasting.

The best slice for the price! ANDNOWTHEYDELIVER!!! When I had my amazing 3 Ripped Muscular Guy friends(all single by the way) helped me move out of my apartment this past August I bought one of their super large pizza’s. For $ 25 I got a GIANT pepperoni pizza. the slices were 4 inches longer than the plate! One pizza did all of us in, that and a 30 rack of PBR. Chachos is greasy and too cheesy but if you want healthy pizza go somewhere off Mission(College) Hill.

Smell — hearing — sight — touch — taste. This in the order in which Chacos will find and leave your senses… Their cartoon aroma wafts through Roxbury into Brookline, causing your feet to levitate inches from the ground as you float nose-first towards redolence… Your ears pick up the dull roar of humanity enjoying itself… Your eyes catch sight of the unassuming brickwork of Chaco’s which houses children with blasting iPods, hipsters, college kids clad Western garb, old men in scrubs, 20 somethings blocking traffic on Tremont as they stop to chat with patrons who saunter over to their cars, biz cas city boys, urban selectees and all other manner of personage Boston has to offer… Your hand grasps the plate they hand you, rarely used muscles flexing to balance the surprising weight… And after several minutes of quiet munching beneath wide eyes you will speak aloud the word«wow» with raised eyebrows to your dining companion… Chaco’s offers criminally underpriced street slices of pizza, solid sandwiches and all manner of tacoy goodness… providing dinner and a show every time you stop by…

Love me some chachos aka chach-ma-gatch. big greasy slices, a bit of spice, salty cheese, a nice supple crust. it’s not gourmet– it’s just a great, well balanced street slice. sandwiches are standard fare. I like to go to town on some empenadas as well. delicious little savory pockets of meat, spices, onions and peppers in a tender flaky crust. the prices are incredibly reasonable, the ready-to-go offers are irresistible. man, i love me some chach– so does choochie. YES!

My local joint. Its good! If you want a good cheap slice of pizza, this is THE place to go in Mission Hill! This coming from a bonafide local born and raised in Mission Hill. The slices might be doughy but they warm the slice up in their oven and makes it nice, warm, crunchy on the bottom and nice and chewy on top. I personally like how they do their pizza. Another thing I usually order is the steak and cheese because its only 5 dollars for a HUGE sub! If you get this with mayo, tell the ladies behind the counter to go light on it because sometimes they slap on too much. The papa relinas and empanadas are also very delicious.

Amazing place. Chachos is surprisingly affordable, has a good selection of food, ranging from pizza, subs, calzones, sandwiches, burritos, fried stuff, and more. The pizza isn’t too bad, a bit doughy, but for the price and portion, its something I can overlook! The medium sized pizza barely fits in the box and it looks like a large(comparable to larges at other pizza places). The cheese is delicious and tomato sauce is quite good, its not the best, but again its affordable and fills you up. This place is amazing for the college student who needs to feed his/her hunger without breaking the bank.. .just don’t eat too much or you’ll be breaking your scale too, this food is terrible for you healthwise! Oh and try the empanadas, they are incredibly delicious: D They are closed on Sundays and close at 9pm everyday.. .make sure to tip the ladies who work there, they deserve it for the work they do. Located on Tremont St. Near the Roxbury Crossing Orange Line and behind the Mission Main baseball park.

Hopefully this review will boost Chacho’s up to 4 stars, where it truly belongs. This is the only place in Boston where you can get a slice and a taco(my two fave foods) and feel great about both. When I lived on Mission Hill as a Boston newcomer in ’04, it took me way too long to discover this gem. It’s def the place that all the local kids go after school and that can get annoying. But in the middle of the day this place is chill as can be. The empenadas are also delicious. And you’d be surprised at how filling the tacos are. They’re crunchy shells and heated in the oven with cheese(I thought i was the only one who made them this way!) and then topped with the good stuff, to order. Chacho’s is the best pizza on the Hill, where options can be pretty scant. I’ve never ordered delivery and I’d be surprised if they even had it. This stuff is made for the neighborhood, and it’s made with love. Chacho Taco, gimme a Nacho!

Everytime I think Chacho’s is just a pizza place, someone that I work with comes up with something that’s NOT pizza. A slice of pizza will run you about $ 1.50, and it’s a bit greasy, not big on flavor, but you can add whatever you want to it. It’s Puerto Rican takeout place(but they do have a few tables), so there are lots of Puerto Rican dishes: favorably reviewed by my coworkers: beans and rice, burritos(just okay), burgers and fries. The service is fast and friendly; the owners and workers speak fluent Spanish and English. There is a line if you go around school lunch time(anywhere between 11 – 1), but if you try to avoid that time, or if you have a high tolerance for high schoolers, you can be in and out. I like this little place when I’m short on time.
