AK’s Takeout & Delivery

Pretty great pizza and wings here. It’s one of my jobs favorite pizza delivery in the area! We used one of the deals they have called «the one» which is a large cheese pizza with 14 wings and a soda for $ 21. We added some toppings to the pizza for an additional charge. This is so my go to for pizza at work.

The pizza is very good here. They’re delivery is good. If you order online don’t bother with giving them a message, it’ll likely get ignored. If you decide to pick up it might be a bit challenging with limited parking.

The best pizza I’ve had in Boston after living here 5 years.
Service was quick even at 8pm and its fairly priced at $ 12 for a large cheese.
Minutes away from the Mission Hill neighborhood and also draws the Roxbury crowd to make you feel like a badass. I’ll be returning soon.

I usually don’t write reviews on Unilocal but i just had to… I have ordered from this place multiple times and i could say this their food is amazing and I LOVE their calzones, I could be honest here and say that’s the only reason why I order from here in the 1^st place. Saying that lets get to the reason why i game this place only two stars… I Hate their seafood it is not fresh at all! and when i order my calzone i love to order marinara sauce with it but the negative side of that is that it cost 2 dollars for a small container of it… I really love this places calzone and I’m truly nervous to try ordering one from another store but I think i might have to give up on them…
Tonight at 10:50pm about an hour and ten minutes before they closed, I have ordered a calzone though
and they didn’t even try or even think about delivering my order… so they toke my money and left me dry… If you want to feel like your money doesn’t mean anything order from this place.

Virtually all the eateries in Southie are take-​out oriented, with minimal seating and massive menus that offer all the simple classics like pepperoni pizza, ham and cheese subs and chicken wings. This place is no different.
Since there is no innovation in the menu selection, nothing differentiates this restaurant from others in the area. Although everything that my friends and I ordered was delicious, we could have gotten the exact same thing at another place that’s closer to our apartment.
However, I have absolutely no complaints about the food — it was delicious, and worth the price. I ordered the Italian sub, my boyfriend ordered a slice of the pepperoni pizza and some wings, and my other friend got the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese sandwich with a side of creamy coleslaw.
The only reason I am giving this restaurant 3 stars instead of 5 is because I cannot give it the same rating that I give to restaurants with a unique identity and theme. But if you’re looking for some simple take-​out, definitely check out AK’s.

This would be a 5 if I could get over my frustration with their customer service, primarily over the phone.
I’m a student, so I don’t have high standards for how you talk on the phone but seriously?! Each of the last 3 times I’ve called in an order they are laughing into the phone, yelling or talking to someone else in the middle of my order, or something similar. Once, when they screwed up my order I was asked to hold while they discussed it openly without actually putting me on hold at all. They also ask me the same question 10 different ways as if it was a murder investigation.
Seriously, I love your chicken fingers but you need to teach your staff how to speak to customers and how to take responsibility for your screw ups.

I ordered a cheese pizza and a steak and cheese sub. The sub was good it was a little dry I’d get it again only late at night when I’m really hungry, but I didn’t really like the pizza it tasted weird to me, and needed more cheese.

I am gravely disappointed in their honey bbq wings. They are soggy, fatty, and literally inedible. I never throw food away but these are going straight into the trash. What a waste of money. I used to be a loyal customer and fan of Ak’s but their food has changed; so unfortunate. However, I do want to give them deserved credit for their customer service. When I called to inform them of my concerns, they were incredibly polite, professional and insisted on making another order, not just to appease me but to «figure out how they made it wrong». Usually I am very generous to give 5 stars for most of the restaurants I went to. But this one really sucks. Let me share my experience to you all to help you get an idea about how terrible this one is. I online ordered a white sauced pizza from this one this Friday night, and put some leftovers in the refrigerator. I took a piece this Sunday morning and microwaved for more than 1min. After I finished half of it, I noticed a very long, thin, black wire underneath the shrimp. I tried to drag it out, but I was very deep. I was so surprised how this stuff can buried inside my pizza, and I also felt dangerous if I ate it without noticing. I then contacted their customer service people, and told them the whole story. To my surprise, he told me that they don’t take care of leftovers. I then told the guy that I will share my experience with other customers. He felt irrigated and told me that I am threatening him. I asked him why he think I am threatening him. Do I have the right to share and inform other people about the potential harmful they may get from their pizza. Then he told me, if I want to do that, go ahead. Very rude and irresponsible. DO NOT order pizza from this place, they don’t care what is inside your pizza. Very SAD!

As far as pizza spots this is the end all!!! They have the most amazing pizza, chicken fingers, alfredo sauce, etc. I’ve been ordering from them for years and I have never disliked anything. Plus the service is great. The one time they made a slight mistake on an order they reimbursed 100% of my money. They’re pretty great :)

I honestly really love this place I remember I used to order from here like once or twice a week. Their food is always good and on time. The prices are great too. Totally a good place to eat

I visited this joint a couple weeks ago since 1) I live so close by and 2) it was right off my T stop.
I got the buffalo chicken tenders to go. I don’t recall there being any seating areas so all orders are to go I guess. It took 10 minutes to walk to my place and when I finally sat down to eat, the chicken tenders were so soggy and not very tasty. The chicken pieces were too big for how much breading there was. Although they do give huge portions which is what they are known for, I would rather eat a smaller meal that I actually enjoy rather than a huge amount I can just tolerate. On the bright side, the onion rings were pretty good and so were the fries.
My friend who I came with ordered their tri tip steak and chicken dinner combo. And man… the steak was incredibly dry and chewy. It was smothered in way too much BBQ sauce. The chicken was also dry but still much better than the steak. If I had a choice, I would choose the chicken over the steak any day.
Since I live close by, I will probably give this place another chance over the next several months but will definitely stay away from both the buffalo chicken tenders and the tri tip steak.

Reliably consistent pizza delivery is something to be appreciated in Boston, the city where businesses can’t get licenses to deliver after 11:00. And AK’s is reliable, consistent, and unspectacular, which is just fine. The pizza is Greek style, but not as thick as most Greek pizza places. The cheese and sauce is about what you’d expect: low quality, but tasty in its own imperfect way. You can’t go wrong with meat lover’s pizza.
AK’s also does nice pasta, salads, and sandwiches. In fact, those items are probably better than many other delivery places that offer better pizza. And that’s kinda what makes AK’s a good place: there’s something for everyone, and prices are reasonable. With delivery orders accepted until 11:30 at night, AK’s is a worthwhile addition to your phone contacts.

They delivered a burger with buns, a patty, and bacon. They blamed it on the new guy being new, but then when I called the boss was horrible at explaining himself, blamed me for not being the one to bring up what I wanted on it instead of apologizing for the new guy’s service, and offered to send me the condiments as sides for 30 minutes later. First time experience, but horrible customer service.

AK’s is that old reliable friend of a take out place. It’s always hot, always delivered ahead of schedule, and never disappoints. Sure, there are fancier places, but when you need a solid pepperoni pizza, AK’s is there. The chicken tenders are top-​notch, all white meat, really big portions. Greek salad is good as well, they give you a nice piece of flat bread with it. Also, I just recently discovered their cheesy garlic bread… it’s a grinder roll, made into garlic bread, and then they load it with mozzarella, so it’s like a giant garlic bread grilled cheese for only 2 bucks. Can’t beat it.

I order for this place quite often but only the pizza and calzones, they pretty good. The subs are terrible though. They deliver pretty quickly.

This place has the typical pizza/​sub place kinda food and it’s all good. I’ve ordered various pizzas, subs, salads, and wings over the past three years living in RoxCity. Special shout out to their Greek salad, buffalo tenders, and chicken/​broccoli alfredo pizza.
Grubhubbers — they always beat he estimated time.

I like their pizza, is a great greek crust pizza nice toppings and low oil content.

Solid, solid food for what amounts to a 100 feet long takeout counter. Could you offer up maybe some bar stools or a small counter? That’s all I ask, I don’t want to have to always hang out with my co-​workers in the break room.
So I’ve got a short term work assignment in the vicinity and have few options I can take less than a 5 minute walk to. Unilocal once again does not let me down. I hate that I’m leery of most places in this area, some of it can be seedy and even though to me MOST of Boston is clean in comparison to other cities… when you walk up the street toward the Roxbury T station on the same side as AK’s, it’s covered in disgusting trash. Why? That’s a rant for some other time and shouldn’t impact AK’s all that much.
I’ve picked up a calzone and both hot/​cold subs… and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by almost all of them. I love mushrooms so I appreciate them asking over the phone if I want them raw or grilled, I can’t think of another sub shop that has ever done that! The buffalo sub is top notch and a bonus that I can throw on extra veggies for free, you know to make it uuuhhh «healthy». The calzone was perfectly crispy cheesed on top and loaded with adequate toppings in the middle. It could be a little pricey or I could just be an old man who remembers when everything was half the price it is now.
If you’re stuck in the area like I am and don’t want Domino’s, walk the extra 500 feet down to AK’s and don’t be scared off by the name, Lil Wayne is not gonna pop out of the bushes with a gun. :)

So this might be a stretch and might erase any credibility you might have had about me forever but…
The cheese pizza here is the best I’ve had in Boston.
Fast delivery. Finally some pizza that reminds me of New York. And its on the cheap.
