This is a great Chinese restaurant. I highly recommend the orange chicken and the orange shrimp. The sushi is also one of the best I have ever had. The staff and the owner are very polite and hard working. 10\10 would eat again!

Clean restaurant, with great food! Large portions, simple menu, good prices, and quick service — what more could I want? Yes, it is a storefront location, but it is convenient with good value. We love the Chicken & Shrimp Fried Rice!

Terrible experience. We are big on Chinese food, and have been scouring Rowlett for an excellent local restaurant. Unfortunately we still have not found it. Firstly, we were charged higher prices than was advertised on the menu for every item. When we asked why, we were told that they haven’t had a chance to change the prices yet on the menu(this is illegal). But let’s forget about that for a moment and focus on the food. We ordered 3 entrees and 1 appetizer. First, the wings were over cooked, dry, and flavorless, with no hint of seasoning or spices, no sauce of any kind… Just dry, over cooked, bland wings. The kung pao chicken was the worst. This is typically one of my favorite dishes, and I try it at every Chinese restaurant I attend. Although the meal appeared appetizing visually, the taste test proved otherwise. The immediate flavor was bland, with an aftertaste I can’t put my finger on, but seems like what I would imagine used mop water tastes like. A huge disappointment I ended up feeding to my dogs(but to be honest, they didn’t complain). The second meal was the orange chicken. At least this meal was edible, but I surely wouldn’t return for it. The flavor wasn’t strong enough, slightly on the bland side. And the breading was soggy, as if it had been microwaved, or possibly sitting for a long time after being pre cooked. I hate to say it, but the orange chicken even at Panda Express is about 20 times better. Lastly was the pepper steak. The texture of the meat was reminiscent of the frozen beef you would find in a cheap frozen microwave dinner. There were plenty of peppers and onions, but they were really over cooked. So soft that there was no crunch to them at all… Not too far from the texture of al dente pasta. And the flavor was extremely bland, there probably was some pepper in the dish, but not enough. And I would be surprised if there were any other spices or seasonings at all. The steamed rice was okay, but the fried rice was very unappealing. I’m not sure how you can screw up fried rice, but they managed to do it. Hard to describe in words what was wrong with it, but again it is similar to what I would expect from a cheap frozen microwavable TV dinner. The amount of food was ample, and the restaurant seemed fairly clean. The total price of our meal was $ 30. If it was $ 15, I might have said I got what I paid for. But for the price, you would be better off grabbing a microwavable TV dinner.

I love this place. I live in mesquite and will drive all the way over here at least once a week for their California Rolls. They have the ONLY decent California Rolls from Mesquite to Wichita Falls. I love to dine in because the environment is calm. There is always 70s music playing, which is my favorite, and it’s always quiet. The owner and his staff is very friendly, especially Zach, who is very polite. I have had their other entrees before and I do have to say that they are some of the best around. The meat is always crisp and the sauce is always perfect. I definitely recommend HKE.

First of all I have to say that Chinese is not my first choice but my daughter likes it and Sunday I was in the mood for it. I have passed by Hong Kong Express many times so we gave it a try. Glad I did. The food was fresh. They made my daughters sushi after it was ordered. The portions were plenty and delicious. The place looked clean and the staff was very nice. The only thing I could find fault with was too many onions in my stir fry. Next time I’ll have them go easy on those. They deliver so I’ll be using that service!

I have never been so satisfied with a little Chinese neighborhood restaurant in my life. The egg rolls are so outstanding, perfect golden crisp grease-free heaven rolls. They’re wonderful, and you can tell that they weren’t just thrown in a freezer.(1 for .99, 5 for 4.59) The entrée that I wanted to give a shot, and am so glad I did, was the sweet & sour chicken with fried rice. Let me tell you; wow. Just, wow. I ordered a regular size($ 7.57), and it was enough to split with a friend and still fill us up. The chicken was golden, perfect crisp, and grease-free, accompanied with delicious sweet & sour sauce. It’s almost as if the sauce is homemade, it’s that unique. The fried rice was outstanding, and eating at this little neighborhood Chinese restaurant was a wonderful choice. Definitely coming back again & again. I recommend this place to everyone! It’s great, delicious, heart-warming staff, & perfect prices! 5 stars, anytime.

I was enjoying my food when a big fat roach scurried up the wall. On top of that Everytime I go in there it smells of bad meat. I was offered a weak apology no refund or comp for my meal.

Ordered over the phone for pickup one random night. I was in the mood for sushi, and a lot of it. I was immediately told all they had was shrimp and crab pieces, so I ordered a California Roll(can get that anywhere) and a Dallas Roll. I paid TEN dollars for that Dallas Roll and only received TWO pieces of sushi. On top of that, all it was was a glorified California Roll with a piece of tempura shrimp stuck in the middle. TOTALRIPOFF! I also ordered the Pupu Platter appetizer with Korean BBQ Ribs, Chicken Teriyaki, Crab Ragoon, Chicken Wing, and Eggroll. It really was good, but definitely not what I would consider warm, and the crab ragoon was TINY. But I guess that’s what you get for only $ 6. The regular dinner entrees look like they give you plenty of food for the money, although I have not eaten any of them myself. Overall, this place wasn’t too bad. I’d eat here again although I wouldn’t order sushi again(which is a shame since there is a good sized menu for it), and I DEFINITELY wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

I Ordered take-out last night with my brother. We got the Regular Family Meal Deal, which came with 2 entrees, 2 soups, 2 fried/steamed rice, and Chinese doughnuts. It only took them 15 minutes to have the order ready. Each meal was well portioned and the quality of the food was excellent. I will definitely order from here again. They do not have a military discount as expected, but that addition would be nice.

Great Chinese restaurant in Rowlette. I ordered the the large sesame chicken($ 9) and it was enough for me, my wife, and our 14 month-old. It was mouthwatering, too! Everyone was friendly and the place was nice and clean. We will definitely be returning soon.

First off, if I go by my visit alone this place struggles for a deuce. If not for the fact that two of my children had the Beef Rice Noodles and took a decent chunk out(good portion sizes on this dish) and the fact that one of the cooks(/owner?) came out and personally delivered and apologized for the 30 minute wait for our food, I would be lambasting this place. Which I hate because at one time they were very good. Well… for sure better than this time, anyway. Chinese food for me is about fresh ingredients and the sauce that most dishes are cooked in. My order of Hunan Chicken came with a sauce that can only be described as «gravy-esque». It was disgusting. I don’t feign a week stomach or any lack of adventure when it comes to ethnic foods. However, this dish had me pushed away from the table before you could say«chicken and vegetables with pudding». For nostalgia sake(and because evidently my kids really like theirs), I will probably try HKE again. But I have a very distinct 3 strike rule. You shouldn’t have to move to a second set of fingers to get a good experience encore.

The best chinese food in Rowlett. They really care about the food and the cleanliness which is something other places in Rowlett don’t care about. White meat chicken on all chicken dishes and good consistency on the sauces. I highly recommend.

What are the odds of two really great restaurants being 2 doors away from each other in a grocery store strip mall? Not good. But at some point the stars lined up just perfectly and out popped Cosa Nostra and Hong Kong Express. I ranked this 4 stars because it isn’t as good as some other options that are not that much more expensive, like Rice Boxx or of course PF Changs. But, in comparison to other hole in the wall Chinese take-out/delivery places this deserves 5 stars. I have actually never gotten delivery, only eaten in, and thus far I have not been disappointed. My sense of adventure in Chinese food is pretty much non-existent. I always get the same thing. However, that one thing was good enough my first time here that I have started to experiment. The dine-in area is clean, unlike all the other similar take-out places I have visited. They have a wide selection of food. I always get stuff without vegetables, but my other half noted at our last meal that his noodle plate was really just stuffed to the brim with meat and vegetables, as opposed to most other places that give you 95% noodles with a piece of meat and a pea here or there. Overall I have really enjoyed it. The people working there seem friendly to guests, as well.
