Super great selection of plants. Super helpful customer service, which is my number one indicator of whether or not I’ll return to a nursery. Our new go-to nursery. Prices are a bit steep, however.

Not the cheapest place to get landscaping stuff, but it’s my go-to place for vegetable plants and pretty much all shrubberies. Had them plant a couple of really big trees 10+ years ago. Unfortunately a very wet spring right after planting killed one. And it took a while to get them to honor the warranty(thus 4 instead of 5 starts). But the replacement tree has rocked on.

This was my first trip to this nursery because it’s quite a drive from me. The first thing I noticed was they were well staffed. There were young people who were mostly there to help you load things but there were also people knowledgeable about the plants. I was impressed with their variety and it is definitely a place for a gardener that is looking for something out of the ordinary. I found great perennials and annuals that I haven’t tried before so I am excited to see how well they do in my garden. However, a lot of their unique offerings aren’t suitable for North Texas. Twice I was interested in a plant and told I need to keep in a pot and bring inside during winter. Hard pass. Also, as far as regular staples, like vinca, marigolds or zinnia, you’re better off at Lowe’s. They are also more expensive – about $ 3 to $ 4 more for gallon sizes. Overall though, a good first experience.

Quality nursery for sure! I went here once I moved to Rowlett and though they may not be the cheapest, they provide quality pants that will thrive if you take the time to learn how to care for them. This place is also huge and I would suggest wearing comfortable shoes if you go in planning to «just browse». Nice selection with very knowledgable and helpful staff. I bought a Meyer lemon tree that is thriving and producing many fruits as well as a ton of seasonal color and plants that are still growing when plants i purchased months after at other places have already withered away with the same amount of care. Would recommend for any landscaping need. The only thing I wish is that they had more of a planter/pot selection.

It’s nice, but you get what you pay for, it’s not a cheap nursery you get quality stuff, but even the discounted items are too expensive in my opinion. It’s nice for when you need something in particular and you can’t find it anywhere else.

I have spent several thousand dollars here over the last few years, truly one of the last large nursery centers left… always a tremendous selection. However, a couple of words of warning. They usually have a lot of plants marked half price. Some of these we bought never grew very fast or did very well. Also, they often have plants not acclimated to the DFW area. We bought an Acacia tree that didn’t survive winter as did the bottle brushes. They aren’t unique in offering oleanders. We cut them back to the ground every year.

Prices can be a little high, but you pay for things being available and in front of you now. I also bought a plant that had bugs on it and not being a plant guru I took it back and they were accepting and accommodating. Being that this place is so close to me is dangerous to my bank account. They have a lot of really cool plants and flowers and can provide service all the way up to designing your whole back yard.

Everyone here is so helpful and nice! I have a bit of a brown thumb and the associates here gave me suitable recommendations. They have a large selection of houseplants which has been hard for me to find. I bought a gigantor of a elephant ear plant and a interesting little bridal veil guy. They’ve been living happily in my apartment. The drive may be far for some but it’s worth it.

WOW! This is a true nursery! This place makes Home Depot and Lowes look like Honey Boo Boo’s mom at a Miss USA Pageant. I am thinking about starting a succulent garden at my house and Covington’s seem to have everything I need. They have a huge selection of not just plants but everything garden related. What a gem of a place. All the workers were very friendly and helpful. Kudos to an awesome staff!

This is by far the best nursery in the area. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and if you ever have a question about a plant, they can answer it. We hired one of their landscape designers to draw up plans for behind our pool and it turned out awesome. One of their employees, Burton, is a plant genius. I have gone to him several times with questions about plants I have that are dying. Each time his recommendations worked and my garden is thriving.

This place is awesome! I have been a few times in the past few weeks to get help and buy plants and flowers to re-landscape my front and back yard. The first time I was in Joe Covington and Pat helped me out and basically designed my back yard. With the plants and flowers he picked out and told me where to place them, my back yard is looking amazing! After I finished the back yard I went back to get shrubs and flowers for the front yard and Brandi helped me this time. I gave her free reign to design my front and she did an incredible job! It looks amazing and she was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Covington’s as the selection is amazing and the customer service is second to none.

This nursery is much bigger than it appears from the main road! We came here looking for a couple shade trees and found a good selection. The staff was highly knowledgeable and helpful in our decision process. Front desk gave us several good planting tips and then made sure we fit everything in my 4runner. I would say the service was top notch and selection one of the best in N Dallas.

Covington’s is one of Rowlett’s best kept secrets. We moved into Rowlett in 1999, and have become frequent customers of Covington’s. Their staff is top notch: friendly, helpful, knowledgeable… the list goes on. As other have noted, Covington’s may seem on the expensive side, but the quality of the plants more than makes up for it. If you need some cheap, throwaway plants, Covington’s is not for you. If you need plants that are vigorous and vibrant, this is your place. In the«back forty», Covington’s grows much of their own plants. Those they don’t grow, they wholesale from the best growers. Convington’s has tons of trees in all sizes on their almost 20 acre plot. Their half-price houses are our regular haunts. My yard is rife with extremely healthy half-price landscaping. If you have ANY plant questions, just ask for Joe Covington. You will often see him walking around the place. If Joe’s not there, just ask for Burton. Great people. Have I spent a lot of money at Convington’s? Absolutely. But ask me how many of the plants I have purchased there(other than annuals) I have had to replace…

One of my favorite places here in Rowlett. Their staff are highly knowledgeable and would not sell a difficult plant to someone who is a novice like me. I like the plants you shove in the ground, give them water and Voila!!! They grow. I find some things that I like a little pricey however I don’t like to shop for the«best» price. That’s a waste of my time and gas. Plus I love the layout of Covington’s and could spend the day there. Even the 3 rose bushes I bought from them over the years are still alive. Hmm, I am getting pretty good at this!

Hands down, one of the best sources of trees this side of Dallas. This nursery is huge; I’d say most of the back lots are dedicated to landscape-size trees alone. Covington’s is also your source for all your landscaping needs: mulch, soil, decorative stone, and designers… not to mention a diverse selection of annual and perennial plants and shrubs worth driving across town for. They have a few greenhouses advertising plants-for-sale, and the prices are usually competitive if you consider the quality of their plants. For extra discounts, invest in a membership. Healthy plants, terrific selection, superb service from a very friendly and helpful staff. Covington’s is regularly endorsed on his radio show by local gardening celeb, Neil Sperry, whose products are available for sale at the nursery.
