Lunch special(Monday thru Friday 11:30 — 2:30 only) is $ 9.99 for either wagyu or lean cut beef entrée. Comes with a free drink(Coca cola, Sprite, diet options, hot tea, iced tea– which comes unsweetened but they give you the sweetener on the side) They give you plenty of vegetables and unlimited white rice. Flavored broth is $ 3 extra but you can stick to original Shabu kombu broth for no cost which I actually recommend for health purposes, haha. They have green onions, garlic, and radish — all fresh and well stocked. Service: hit or miss, like many other places. But once you get your food, you’re on your own anyway until you want your bill, so it’s no big deal. When a bunch of people come in, they’re slow to get you started. They have to get your sauces, broth, and bring the veggies. Overall, it’s an excellent deal and I’ll definitely be back! The beef is(surprisingly for a lunch deal) flavorful and beats 9 out of 10 other Shabu Shabu joints for sure. Stamp card: buy 10 entrees and get 1 medium entrée on your next visit! The lunch special does earn you stamps! Tip: try to go early, preferably when they first open, for better service and the fact that they don’t have that many seats. They have booths as well but I don’t think they have those open for lunch time on weekdays.

First time I’ve ever had Shabu Shabu, I highly recommend this place. The Service was great and the food was phenomenal. I wish I would’ve taken better pictures of what I ordered, but I was too distracted and busy eating. Friendly people and the prices were reasonable. Parking is a not the best, but it’s worth it! You have to try the Spicy Pork Miso with Wagyu Chuck Roll; excellent.

Shabu-shabu is a family/friend oriented experience. So gather ’round the heat, the hot pot, and stimualte social intimacy between you, and your company with a mouthfull of meat. Their menu has increased in size since the early 2000s. They have a few types of beef, seafood, pork, and vegetables to choose from for the main course. There may be more, but my eyes shot straight for the pork and that was it for me. There are three meal sizes to choose from:(S)(M) and(L). I ordered a medium thinly sliced pork plate and paid about $ 15.99 during the dinner hour. Each course comes with a full plate of vegetables, like mushrooms, cabbage, bean sprouts, spinach and carrots. Steamed rice, ponzu and a peanut sauce also come with the meal. You can have regular shabu broth, or choose from a list of flavors. Curry and Tonkatsu were ordered for my table. Both were a blast, but the Curry broth offered the most unique flavor. Get risky and order one of the flavored broths; you can have two broths for one table. Customer service is ace. Waitresses and Waiters always check to see if you need more broth, vegetables, rice, etc. Service is usually quick and the food is always fresh. Tokyo S. S is a great place for small parties, large parties, and even single parties. I’d say on average, for dinner time expect to pay about $ 25+ depending on what kind of stomach you have. My stomach usually demands I spend more than I should while eating out. But yes, T.S.S is a moderately priced venue. Very good, too.

Love this place can’t say enough of great things. The food comes out pretty fast. They are a 2 for 1 special which is a great deal. It’s not a very large space so it does tend to get full a lot faster.

The flavor the service and the seating arrangement was all on point. A little different from my other favorite spot(jazz cat) but this is definitely exceptionally good on a cold day! Can’t beat authentic Japanese hot pot! Parking kinda annoying but food is really worth it!

So this is actually a late post before my Asia trips.(Yes, this place was so special that I still remember exactly what happened and must write a review about!) This location isn’t exactly group-seating friendly when it comes to having more than 8 people unless you want to sit at a bar style yelling across the room to communicate. But that wasn’t the main focus of the review. Two of my friends ordered their happy hour combo special which includes green tea ice cream at the end. As she dig into one of her ice cream scope she noticed a piece of LONGSTRANDOFBLACKHAIRTANGLEDINSIDETHEICECREAM. It’s not just sitting lightly on the ice cream, but INSIDE the ice cream from the center of the scope that if we were to pull it, it will break. So as cheap college students, we told the server and expecting apologies and discounts offered. His reaction were«Oh Wow, did you guys want another one? I can exchange it for you.» … NOTHANKS! Anyway that was the climax of that story. But we really enjoyed the food even tho the seating was bad. Because we had party of about 10 people, and didn’t want to sit at the bar style tables(which were the main seating of this restaurant), they placed us at the«so-called private» room that’s near the entrance, which has 4 pot stoves. Since each pot can be divided into two, it’s great for 8 people hotpot. Hence my other parties had to order plate food =( I also remember we had to flag down waiters to take our orders and refill our drinks. The meat qualities were just okay for it’s price. I probably won’t give this place another try. Last thing I want is being terrified of Ice creams because of hotpot.

Just left this place So mad that we had to write a review We liked the food but We would NEVEREVER come back. simply don’t want to support these types of owners that overwork their employees like this. We got one of the worse service here and we’re not blaming the employees. Albert was super nice but the other 2 chicks looked like they had some thing up their behinds but still we don’t blame them. 3 people working with the FULLHOUSE of customers(~25−30 people) So it takes forever to be able to flag someone down and just a horrible experience

Months ago my cousin tells me let’s go get shabu Shani for lunch… He brings me to this place… OMG! I absolutely love love love this place and we have been back here many times since then… Every time we have come here, the food has been awesome and the service has always been friendly and great. So many different types of dashi and meats… each one tastier or just as tasty as the next… I think I bug him. haha everytime he asks me to lunch I say only if we go to Tokyo Shabu Shabu! Try this place, it worth the time and money… I’ll definitely be coming back to this place time and time again!

Great shabu shabu place outside of Little Tokyo in J-town. Much better than Mitsu e shabu shabu in Fullerton. The portions used to be a bit bigger, but they have decent 2 for 1 specials that include drinks(beer too!!), an appetizer and dessert. Parking can be a hassle and on weekend nights it’s busy with a wait. But the wait staff is always attentive and the food fresh. I recommend getting a seasoned broth(I like the pork miso) but my wife prefers simple hot water. The dipping sauce you create can be as spicy or mild as you like and it definitely adds the right amount of kick to the meats and veggies. Get the Tokyo cut rather than the lean cut, as the marbling really adds flavor to the meat. It’s cut so thin, I doubt you’ll really notice the calories.

This place has been opened for quite some time, and I’ve dine here a handful of times over the years. Each time I’ve felt exactly the same way… meh The food here is ok. The prices are reasonable, especially during happy hour. The happy hour portions are very generous, but the quality of the meat is just OK. I’ve definitely had better. The sauces are good and the veggies are fresh. They are incredibly short staffed. There were only 2 servers last time I was there, and they were also very backed up in the kitchen. It took quite some time for the food to be prepared, and the servers looked frantic. The servers were doing their absolute best, but they were just so overwhelmed. The vouchers are wonderful, and they even work at during happy hour.

Been coming here a couple of times, so I should put a review. My overall experience I would say was good but became average. My most recent visit, I went with a friend for their $ 9.99 lunch special, but sadly the broth was limited to one specific broth which was just the water base with some vegetables. I paid an extra $ 3 for the Spicy Kimchi broth… The spiciness was great, but there was just so much cabbage that I had to remove it to make room for my other vegetables and meat. Also, with their sauces provided… I don’t find them special, the peanut sauce was just bland that I can barely taste. On a positive note, I do like the amount of vegetables given for the soup. The atmosphere is nice though, good and upbeat music playing. For dinner time, the bar tends to get pretty full fast so you would have to wait a while to be seated if you want your own broth and whatnot. You have to get used to sitting kind of close to other people if you’re planning on sitting at the bar as well. The service is good. You would really have to call out to the waiters to hear you or if you want the check.

There were so many things wrong with this place so I thought I’d make it easier by just listing them. 1) First off, our primary server had a bad attitude. I’m not sure what was the reason but it set the tone badly from the beginning. However, I have to admit the other servers who checked back with us were friendlier, but it didn’t help our initial bad experience. 2) Although the food was good, we did find some leaves with bug holes in them. We didn’t see any bugs on the leaves but knowing the leaves they gave us were eaten by bugs, didn’t give me a lot of confidence. 3) I used a coupon that I got and they didn’t give me the discount on our final bill. When I inquired about this, they made the correction but took the discount off the full price that included the tax. I personally think that doesn’t make much sense since it’s not really a $ 10 discount then since if my tax was high, that would off set the credit altogether. They should have taken the discount off the food and then applied the tax. I asked for this and they refused. It’s a minor difference but still doesn’t make me happy considering the overall bad service. I won’t come back to this place especially since there are so many other shabu shabu places nearby.

Our experience here was excellent. The food hits the spot and Our waiter was attentive and knew exactly what we needed before we even asked. Customer service here is probably the best out of their other locations. Make sure to check in to get the free sake! This place is never a let down. Swish swish

This place has pretty good ventilation for a shabu joint because my clothes didn’t really smell much after this trip! The food is pretty good and they have a good variety of broths. I like the sukiyaki broth. Portion sizes are also pretty good. For some reason, the meal didn’t come with any sauce? This hotpot is definitely on the pricier side. They had an interesting soundtrack in the background. It switched from kpop to pop to Christian contemporary all within the span of one meal.

So glad I was able to try this place! Our server was nice and helpful! He actually recommended the broth and meat – I’m glad he did because they were amazing choices. I got the spicy miso broth and ribeye as the meat dish. The spicy miso broth had the spicy kick and was delicious. The ribeye is a must try– it was like butter melting in your mouth! The meal comes with some veggies, and noodles which were all fresh. Come prepared for yummy food and also leaving smelling like all the goodness in the restaurant.

Saw the Kobe beef lunch special for $ 9.99 while walking by and decided to give it a try today. Almost full at weekday lunch time; I think their promotion really attract people coming to eat. We ordered regular shabu and tomato vegetables broth. Fair taste. For the Kobe beef and certified Angus beef, they are just tasted normal as well. Be awared, they charged more money while you picking up special soup, like $ 3 for my tomato vegetable soup. Total bills come to $ 45 for two people with additional plate of beef. Kind of pricy for the quality I have. I don’t think we will be back in the near future.

**veggie plate** Located at Diamond Plaza. This place is okay. It’s worth it during happy hour if you come early or order after 9pm, theres a special discount menu, but it doesn’t include the expensive meat. And $ 2 extra for flavored broth. The menu is confusing. The combos are definitely a better deal then ordering it separately. I like Ichiban Shabu Shabu at YES Plaza, they have a $ 10 special if you come early, don’t charge extra for flavored soup, and you get to pick your own sauces at the sauce bar. No dinner special here, only lunch special, but they do have the happy hour menu. I skipped the happy hour menu. I had the veggie plate for $ 15. I wish they had a small size because the medium size is just too much. They do have ice cream for buck if you order during happy hours. I only look forward to dessert. Why even bother with dinner? So I ordered two scoops since it was only $ 1. Kenzie happy. Thanks for reading! :) ~*kenzie*~
