Always a pleasant atmosphere. The food is consistently good. Staff is friendly. Service is great. They can accommodate a good amount of guest and are very tentative. I occasionally try new things from their menu and everything is always good. The prices are great everything is fairly priced you get good value for what you pay for. A pleasant and mild environment.

Food: 3.5÷5 stars Typical Korean food for drinking beer and soju. Food is not bad here but I can’t think enough in details to tell you since my meal was unpleasant due to the bad service. Atmosphere: 3⁄5 stars Average local restaurant that’s been here for decades. It was on the unkept side with old and worn out furnitures. It’s good for a quick meal. But I think it’s the local hangout for men drinking after works. Someone left cigarettes on my table and it didn’t get clean up. Service: 0⁄5 stars May be the old woman waitress had a bad day but it seemed more like she just hated being there. She was not talkative and a unhappy in general. She just tossed dishes on he table and walked away. I asked for some sesame seed oil as she turned away but she did not answer. She did come back with the bottle of oil for kitchen use and squirted some oil on my plate but walked away without looking at me or asked if it was enough. Not 5 minutes later she fought with another customer for tips. I felt bad for her but if service was not good then she has to face the consequences. I hope she gets better. Expense: 3.5÷5 stars Prices are compatible to or slightly lower than other restaurants in this area. $ 8 – 10 lunch special. $ 13 lunch combo. Not a bad deal overall. Return: 1⁄5 stars I have to think hard before I return here. Or at least until I forget about the bad attitude and service from the old lady that wait table here. 2.3 stars overall average. I want to support local restaurants but it’s harder to do when service comes with bad attitudes. My wife gave this place zero stars but my rating system balanced things out so It got 2 stars.

I went here solely for the special lunch combo advertised on the window. Sadly, the portions were kinda small, and I didn’t enjoy most of the side dishes. I would most likely try the other, more expansive dishes next time I come by. Service was ok; it seemed there was only one poor lady working both the kitchen and counter! While it was empty when we came around, I hear it’s more lively at night.

I love this place. The service is slow due to not enough people but the food is very good. The steamed 3 layered pork, the seafood pancake, the steamed black cod over spicy sweet red sauce, and the banchan. They are all good. This place serves a unique small sweet /salty bean banchan that goes very well with the rice wine or beer.

My boyfriend and I came here last night because we were craving kbbq, and because all the other AYCE places were about to close. There was only one party of three currently in the restaurant, and another party of two who came in right after we did. The party of three were just a couple of young adults and they were finishing up their meal and sobering up from their drinks, so they didn’t really require any more service. We were seated by the older woman(our server/the owner maybe) right when we walked in, but then she walked off and didn’t come back to us until five minutes later to ask us what we’d like to drink… We then put in our order for the beef soup with cold noodles + bbq beef($ 16) and the bbq beef ribs, or what’s better known as galbi($ 18). We waited for about 10 minutes for our banchan to come out, and the weird thing was is that the couple who came in after us got their banchan, as well as their order, right after we placed ours. Our food didn’t even come out until five minutes later, and we ordered the exact same things as the couple had. I then realized that they, as well as the other party of three, were all Korean. My boyfriend and I were not. So I’m thinking maybe this place treats Korean people better than others. Not cool. Anyway, I found everything to be really lacking. The banchan included kimchi, leeks, bean sprouts, potato salad and pinto beans(that’s a first). When our soup came out, the first thing that I noticed was the smell. It was a VERY unpleasant one — I couldn’t even bring myself to eat it and it did not look appetizing. The«bbq beef» in it wasn’t even barbequed; it was literally just cooked in the soup. My boyfriend ended up eating it himself and I’ll tell you now that it was not worth $ 16. The galbi was a disappointment as well. I was glad that it at least looked like it was supposed to, but it was terribly under-seasoned and chewy, and some pieces were even uncooked and red. I’m only giving this place two stars because one, although the service wasn’t good, it wasn’t super bad. And two, although my meal was quite disappointing, it was close to being decent. Overall, I’d give this place another chance because I’m hoping that it was just one of those«off-nights.» I really think that the staff can do better, and I’m going to give them that chance at redemption the next time I come back.

bossam is pretty legit here. their gamja tang is also pretty good. i wouldn’t come for anything else. order their combo — it’s definitely worth the price! service may be a bit slow, so come here when you’re not in a hurry. if you’re an impatient douche, don’t come here and stick to your franchise restaurants.

I love this place! The people who work here are super nice. The food is really good, the quality of the meat was on point! I came to get take out for lunch, and it was prepared really fast, exactly at the time they said it would be done. The lady who worked there remembered me! And she gave me extra Fishcake in my jap chae which made me really happy :) I really love this place ! Would definitely recommend

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the words — Don-Don? I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking — Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, Dark Side. Peter(Han) goes looking for Chris(Luke) on the ice planet of Hoth, riding his Don-Don, which spoofs the Tauntaun. A creature that looks and talks like Don Knotts. You know him. The actor famously know for his role as Barney Fife on the Andy Griffith Show or landlord Ralph Furley on the TV sitcom Three’s Company. Alright, you got me. Don-Don Korean Restaurant doesn’t serve pieces of Don Knotts. But, they do specialize in hot pot, with their specialty being pork. They offer the servings in a big stone bowl, steaming and sizzling hot when it arrives at your table. We had the Barbecued Pork Chops, covered underneath by a bed of grilled onions. The meat could have been more tender, but definitely had the right amount of flavor. I’ve had better marinade elsewhere, still I can’t complain. For an unknown and secluded restaurant in Rowland Heights, their dishes are decent. I’m sure this place sure attracts the crowd more for their food, rather than the Korean spirits. Although, having both is never an issue. The service was great, but with us being the only table on a Tuesday night, I would have expected nothing less. The Seafood Noodle Soup wasn’t bad. The Hot & Spicy Beef Broth with Shredded Beef and Vegetables seemed to lack the right amount of seasoning. All I could taste was the hot pepper paste and the beef wasn’t lean at all. The regular Korean entrees seem average at best. The ban chan(side dishes) were okay. I wonder how packed this place gets during the weekend? They open till 12pm everyday and that gives me another option for Korean dining in the area, since most places close from 10pm to 11pm on the weekdays. Ideal for a late meal after my gym workout.

Price was reasonable. Food was mostly good, except chicken with ginseng soup was too garlicky. Service was excellent. Side dishes were mostly good.

Ordered the hot potato soup to go. Lots of food for the price. The soup was ok. Not as good as the neighboring restaurants. I tasted a little freezer burn. Not too fresh. Pork was tender. Potatoes were good. Came with lots of banchan and purple rice. There was one banchan I’ve never seen before. It was tomatoes, lemon, cilantro and jalapenos. Kinda tasted like salsa but I liked it alot. I still like this restaurant but not impressed with their pork neck bone soup.

Korean restaurant in the Big Lots plaza with JJ bakery, Pizza Hut, and Bobee 5. They have pretty good and cheap lunch specials here. Various soups, noodles, BBQ. Parking is no problem. Only crowded at certain areas of the lot.
