Still sad that this place is now closed. I loved coming here for their $ 5 pad see ew on Mondays and Tuesdays. Although I’m sad to see the place close, it’s not that surprising, since there were never too many customers when we would eat here. This was a great alternative from Coconut or Banana Bay. Service was always friendly.

I like coming here more than Banana Bay and Coconut Bay. Even though they are some how all related, I’d prefer eating here so much more. The ambiance of the place is so much nicer. It’s more relaxing and quiet. Banana Bay is too damn loud for me. The food prices are very cheap and very good. I think the quality tastes the same if not better than those other two bays and fruits. My two favorite dishes is the pad see ew with no vegetables. I hate vegetables… and also the Moo Yang with Fried rice. I think that dish is to die for! And I gotten a chance to know some of their wait staff and theyre pretty cool. Sometimes when they ring me up, they hook it up with a 15% off card. #awesome

A spacious place. Lots of seating. Came here on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. Maybe it’s because we ate a little earlier that night. As we were eating we saw more people coming in. Service and food was okay. I ordered pad thai. The noodles was tender and the flavor was on point. It was not overly sour or anything. On Mondays and Tuesdays they have the pad see ew lunch special for $ 4.99. This is a pretty good deal. Going to go try it for lunch one of these days. So this is pretty much an okay place to come if you want Thai food. However, there’s not as many selections on the menu as Banana Bay and Coconut Bay.

October 20, 2013 After batting practice at RBI, the bf and I were food hunting. We ended up here at Coconut Station. I can recall that I had a good experience here, so I believe that I would again. We both ordered our entrees– Crying Tiger: The bf saw that this was the most talked about, so he ordered this. I, once again, am not a fan of red meat, but meh… I guess this dish is ok. He enjoyed it though. The pickled lettuce-vegetable was allright. The sauce for the meat, according to him was sweet and sour and a bit spicy. I believe that the sauce or the flavoring of the sauce is from the pickled juice. Pad See Ew-Chicken: This is MY order. I love the glass noodles! And I know you can never go wrong with the Pad Thai or the Pad See Ew. The gan lan vegetable is my overall favorite veggie along with spinach. The eggs were there, but hidden. The chicken, meh… but the sauce and seasoning of the glass noodles is where it’s most important. That’s where the flavors AT! The bf loved the dish so much that we decided to go to the market so he can replicate the dish. hahaha In the end, the bill came out to be $ 20 for tip and the food.

tip: free refills on thai ice tea and coffee and more(refer to menu, willing waitresses too, not the ignorant ones) papaya salad was written on there instead of printed but that’s okay. It’s sour salty and refreshing. though, the dried baby shrimp can do without. crab fried rice actually uses real crab meat(whether its fresh or frozen, who knows) and it’s the highlight of the night; house tom yam soup is actually tom yam with hor fun inside which is great because it actually fills u up. though the broth is salty and sour, i was expecting to be lemongrass sour only and not salty. many items to choose from warrant another visit.

I ordered the mint leaves w/chicken rice plate, one of my favorite dishes… what I got instead was, find the chicken among the bamboo shoots. When I took my first bite, I originally thought that the chicken had gone bad, it was an awkward taste. As I looked at my plate I realized that it was because of the overwhelming amount of bamboo shoots in the dish! This dish traditionally is made with minced chicken breast, chopped onion, chopped garlic, brown sugar, fish sauce, dark soy, salt, chopped jalapenos and of course mint leaves. what I got instead was, «what do we have in the pantry» stir fry. I would say that the only thing that was cooked properly here was the fried egg. I definitely won’t be coming back.

It seems like I’m exploring more of my city this week. went here with the family, and there’s some good stuff here. we went for a weekday lunch. not too busy and our waiter was attentive. That’s a star right there. Hits: –Crab fried rice with lime –coconut milk curry with mushrooms Misses: — peanut curry over rice tasted like a watered down, plain old Thai peanut dipping sauce for satay. — serving size for beef pad see ew was looking pretty pathetic compared to the other places. Overall pretty good. Better than I thought, considering I’ve gone to its bigger older cousins(the Bay’s) too many times to count. Essentially this is another clone, albeit less busy, smaller. Worth a try.

Coconut Station is my clear and somewhat surprising winner in the Coconut Bay/Banana Bay/Coconut Station sweepstakes. Surprising as it’s the least flashy and least talked about of the three, and although the menus have similarities, I’m willing to bet that Coconut Station is simply blessed with a bad ass chef in the kitchen. While everything shined with the grease of the food gods, I left feeling rather buoyant. Shrimp Cakes — check Emerald Noodle Crying TIger — excellent, great spinach noodles and sauce Pad Kee Mao w/tofu — tasty Pad See Ew w/beef — great ’Exotic’ Fried Rice w/Chicken — solid, spicy Some other tofu dish — also good Thai Iced Tea w/free refills — hello? is it me you’re looking for?

Great Thai food in fusion style, very cute and comfy little restaurant, a few tables are perfect for watching sports. Same owner as Coconut Bay, but the food is little different. I liked the menu, many seafood and vegetarian choices. We tried crab nugget, beef noodle soup with veggies, clam chilli paste with rice, everything was very flavorful, I enjoyed the clams a lot, they were great with rice, spicy enough for me. The service was decent, they only serve beer and wine, as long as they have Singha beer, I am good. A pretty nice little Thai restaurant for weekday dinners or watching sports, not too crowed, very relaxing and easy going!

I’m a huge thai food fan! This is one of my favorite spots. I always order their crab cakes here. I love the sauce and their pad see ew is bomb in addition to the tom yum soup which is just that YUM. They are friendly and fast and I most def recommend. Parking is a little annoying though if spots are filled.

Sloppy, mediocre Thai food reminiscent of nearby Coconut Bay. The only thing they have going for them are the $ 5 pad see eew on Mondays and Tuesdays and their $ 2 Singha bottle specials Monday-Thursday. The standard for Thai food in Rowland Heights is pretty sad nowadays… In fact, I would just avoid Thai food altogether in this city…

The food here is pretty standard. Some dishes were good, some were decent, and some were nasty. The pad see ew was one of the worst pad-see-ews I’ve had. I don’t understand how you can just stir eggs into the thing, made it taste like sand in noodles. The House Tom Yum noodle soup was okay, and the mint leaf chicken was pretty tasty. I also had their fried rice and that was mediocre. Would I come back? Probably not. The service is a little bit on the slower side as the waitresses are not really aware of their surroundings(doing other stuff like setting tables, etc). You have to throw yo’ hands in the air like Montell Jordan to get their attention. 2.5 stars rounded to 3.

In contrast to the two Thai Bay restaurants in the area, Coconut Station seems to have more of a café style ambiance to it . At first impression, it also seems to draw an older, perhaps more casual family oriented crowd than either Banana Bay or Coconut Bay. Some reviewers have said that it’s run by the same owners but that’s not that important to me. They have a good Pad See Ew deal on Mondays and Tuesdays for $ 4.99 that I took advantage of in the same week… Originally, we were going to President Thai but saw this on Unilocal instead and decided to come by. Glad we did. I was in the mood for some Green Curry and theirs is not bad. You can specify either a chicken, beef, pork, or mixed veggies version; the sliced beef that I selected was only slightly chewy but mostly due to the presentation and cut, it was otherwise flavorful and satisfying. The sauce was thin and coconut milky and had wispy Thai basil leaves in it . I ordered mild level spiciness and it was just enough for a fly-weight like me. The order came with a small tureen of steamed rice… The Coconut Station Spring Rolls were only a mild surprise because they came out fried, the waitress had warned us in advance. I happen to like crispy crunchiness of the soft chicken, glass noodles, and vegetables wrapped and deep fried in a traditional egg roll skin. Comes with a dipping sauce and a side salad of sliced fruits like apples, strawberry, and orange segment… Mangos were still in season at the time so we indulged in a Mango Sticky Rice for dessert, a generous portion indeed . I had a Thai Iced Coffee and the Mrs. had a Green Iced Tea, but this is the first time I can remember a green tea having a «head» on it… I mentioned that they have a great Pad See Ew deal during the beginning of the week so I came back to take advantage of that . The noodles were not great, but quite a bargain for $ 5 and it comes with the same side salad that we had a couple of nights earlier . What kind of blew it out of the water lunch budget wise was the accompanying $ 3 Iced Coffee , so now the price of the deal is not so amazing, but still not bad… Quick, clean, reasonably priced; I also noticed a larger room in the back. We didn’t have any problems with the service the times we were there. I’m fairly confident that I’d return…

On a Tuesday evening, we ordered the chicken and shrimp pad thai, chicken green curry, spicy hot wings and a beer for 30 — They played CNN on election day, not FOX :) — Close to the 60. Right off the freeway — Fast service. Lots of Tvs. Nice bathroom. — Pad Thai is off color? More traditional appearance? — 2 shrimp with pad thai. lame — Thick fail. curry was watery. but still tasted good. nice level of spice — They didn’t ask how spicy we wanted it. — Better the Best of the Best chicken? Love their chicken! Packed with flavor. Crispy! — 2 for 20 deal on the weekend?! what about the weekday??? SHEESH — $ 2 sigha beer. EHhh, cool. — I like President thai better, BUT! I think this place is better than coconut and banana bay fo sho!

Came with friends. They really liked it so I was like I will try it, since I am a fan of Thai food. The ambiance was pretty quiet but nice… Until we walked in with a 1&3 year old. Lol We were welcomed walking in the door and seated right away. Off top we ordered Thai ice teas and waters. Yumm yumm can’t really mess that up & a plus was that both had free refills. Yay! For appetizers, the crab nuggets and spring rolls were good & for the meal I had the Pad Thai, that was good as well. The waitress checked on us periodically, at the end of the meal I was satisfied. Felt kinda bad because the kids noodles were everywhere on the floor. Hahahah sawwwwry!!!

My BF and I were headed to Cozy Thai and saw that they had $ 5 Pad See Ew on Mondays and Tuesdays. The BF always orders that so we decided to go here instead. Parking can be kind of troublesome, but eh… we took the last spot so yup! Walking in, the place had a nice crowd where it wasn’t too crowded or too empty. What we got: Pad Thai($ 8.25): it comes with this salad which was pretty good. It had apples, strawberries, and stuff like that. The pad thai comes with chicken and I had 2 pieces of shrimp. I ate about half of it and I was full already. I’d have to admit that the pad thai was pretty good here. Squeeze a little lime in it and delicious! Chicken wasn’t super dry and same with the shrimp. And it still tasted good the next day! The noodles didn’t seem like pad thai noodles though… it was thinner? But it was still pretty good. Pad See Ew($ 5): it also comes with the salad. I’m use to seeing pad see ew with just chinese broccoli, but this place had bok choy in it as well. My BF said this was probably one of the best pad see ew’s he has ever had. It had just enough sauce, beef and veggies and he had nothing to complain about. He told me to take a bite and I was surprised too. I didn’t think that it would be that good considering it was only $ 5, but I was wrong! If he is ever craving it again and we happen to be in Rowland on a Monday or Tuesday, I’m sure we’d come back. Service: Ladies were nice. Service was pretty fast. If our water was empty or even half empty, they would come back and refill it.

Thinking about avoiding lines at Banana Bay or even Coconut Bay? Yes, this is the place to go… but sorry alcoholics this place doesn’t have great deals. However, the food here is pretty good compared to the two restaurants I just mentioned. Parking was not a hassle here… it was actually quite empty to be honest. The design on the outside is pretty cute. There is a beautiful patio seating area with lots of flowers. Weird thing is that the blinds are located on the outside instead of inside the restaurant. The interior design had a lot of wood and cushion seats, but still pretty descent size. We were greeted very promptly. The service here was good at first, but they did slack off afterwards… four tables… two waitresses. Just pointing it out.(Reason why they didn’t get four stars… had to balance service with food). What we ordered was a spicy beef salad, prawn rad na, Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee. The spicy beef salad was terrific!(I left the spice out due to recent health problems). So really it was more like a beef salad; however, it was actually better than I thought. The beef was cooked medium rare and the juices just overflowed with flavor. There was romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and guess what?! Green apples! Yum! The prawn rad na was drenched in this sweet sauce and the flat noodles were made freshly. The shrimp looked good but I’m allergic to crustaceans… The drinks here are made freshly compared to the«sitting in a pitcher mixture» at the mentioned two restaurants. Overall, I would recommend coming here, it’s better than Banana Bay and Coconut Bay. Just for the alcoholics of course vice versa. Note: Dishes here are about a $ 1 more though… Also, free WiFi! It’s like a Starbucks, but with TV’s. Super plus!

Rowland Heights must really love coconuts and bananas, because in addition to Coconut Bay and Banana Bay, we now have Coconut Station! Owned by the same owners of the bays, this place differs from it’s predecessors in pretty much everything. Of course, since the bay restaurants have a reputation for serving delicious Thai cuisine, this place is no stranger to great Thai cooking. However, the menu items may not seem as authentic and there is definitely a little bit of fusion going on here. Swing by on Mondays and Tuesdays for their $ 4.99 Pad see ew special! Since that’s one of my favorite dishes anyways, I was ecstatic to find this. The pad see ew was tasty, fragrant and flavorful, with the right amount of saltiness and sweetness. However, the beef that came along with the dish was pretty chewy and hard to eat, so I avoided this part. I’ve also tried the Pad Thai, and to be honest, I’m kinda on the fence about this one. It wasn’t the best pad thai that I’ve ever had, and in my large dish, there were quite a few clumps of noodles, making it rather hard to take apart and eat, since a lot of stuff was stuck together. The flavor was not bad and had a good amount of sweetness and sourness. But I would’ve just expected better since this was a pretty basic dish. Meh. Since summer is here, this place serves the perfect salad. Apple slivers, sliced strawberries and pieces of mandarin orange sprinkled on top of romaine lettuce and dressed with a sweet, milky dressing, this is definitely one of the best salads I’ve had in any restaurant. If I had to choose out of the three bay restaurants, I would definitely come here if I was looking for a quieter and more intimate dining experience, since Banana Bay and Coconut Bay is more for a rowdy night of fun.

I don’t know what it is, I went in thinking it would be a 2 – 3 star restaurant, but after eating there, I really have to say this place is a 4. First of all, catering and service were excellent. We had them cater a party previously. Food was just as it was in the restaurant. Thai Iced Tea and Coffees free refills! A little more creamer than tea but. Every place does it a little different. Emerald Crying Tiger noodles were pretty good. For the area? Probably a 3.5 on this dish. But unique. I enjoyed it. So, the true winner?(I know it’s not even Thai but) the honey bbq wings. O.M.G. The perfect crispy-ness with sticky honey bbq sauce all over the outside yet still maintaining it’s perfect crunch and original flavors without overpowering the chicken. Each part of the wing were so wonderfully balanced it just blew me away. At the end of our meal, it was still crunchy like it just got there. Next time I go? I’m just eating wings. Forget the traditional Thai dishes. Beats Wing Stop and Buffalo Wild Wings? Oh yes. I’m drooling thinking about it. Ask for extra napkins. But maybe you won’t need them if your date lets you lick off the sauce.(o; nomnomnom.
