Each time that my family and I ate there, we got great food. Why did it close? Anyone?

I was looking for some delivery food out side of Chinese and pizza. Texas steak out was a great alternative. I got the philly cheese steak with sweet potato fries and it was terrific. When I first found this place on Unilocal, the reviews were pretty underwhelming. But I decided to give it a try any ways, I was satisfied so I ordered from there a second time. Both times my food was delivered quickly, the food was hot and delicious. This is a good example of how misleading Unilocal can be. Had I taken the reviews seriously I would have missed out on a satisfying experience . The only way to know how good or bad a place is, is to just try it. I recommend you try this place.

We had lunch catered from this place at work today. There were some breed of tiny sandwich and chicken legs/wings. The sandwiches were gross– there were more peppers than meat on them, the meat was dry, and the sandwiches were soggy. The chicken wings and legs must have come off of a mummy chicken-I don’t think I’ve ever had that much trouble trying to eat chicken off of the bone. When I finally was able to get some meat, it was RED and tasted awful. I hope they didn’t pay too much for this food. Based on what I had today, I would NEVER go to this place. It was horrible.

This place is overpriced. The quality of the food is just ok. I am guessing they are focusing on delivering a high quality product in a timely manner for the customer to enjoy at home. They get 1 start because they fail at their own niche business model. It is not a quality product, it is not a timely, and it is not enjoyed by the customer. For the price that you pay you can enjoy much higher quality options in the Round Rock area. This price range will put you at all of the top restaurants that have good customer service and a good product. Even the nearby chain restaurants are better options. Take $ 50 and put in a frying pan with butter and salt, then take that $ 50 and eat it. After doing that you will have experienced everything Texas Steak Out has to offer.

We have ordered from this location a few times in the past and food was okay but a little pricy. The plus side was the delivery service when getting caught in the office and not being about to leave for lunch. After not ordering from them in a while, last week the office girls and I ordered lunch(2 hamburgers, salad and fries). TWOHOURSLATER and several phone calls in between, we were delivered our food! COLD and the worst hamburgers I have ever had! I have had better hamburgers at a school cafeteria at the end of a lunch day! Never again! And a side note: the lovely manager offered me a coupon for a free steak burger on our next order. I THINKNOT!

Went here hoping for a Philly cheesesteak and walked out with soggy bread and barely cooked steak. Steak out is overpriced and when I walked in and start ordering my meal, I felt like I was bothering the cook. As if he had so many things to do and my order was a burden. Never again will I visit!

We’ve ordered here before and the food has been good; a bit overpriced, but good. Tonight, however, I went on Grub Hub and put in an order for fries and 20 wings to be delivered. Two hours and fifteen minutes later, and they still haven’t arrived. You read that right, over two hours and I still haven’t received my food – and it’s a super simple order! I’m about to call and have my order cancelled. If you can’t have food delivered in under an hour(MAYBE an hour and a half tops on a busy night), you have no business offering delivery. UPDATE: About 2 minutes after I posted my initial review, the doorbell rang. Our wings were hot, but the sweet potato fries were soggy and lukewarm. About an hour after I finished the wings, my stomach felt sick. After reading other reviews that say this place is designed for delivery(I’ve never been there in person), there is seriously no excuse for this type of service. We won’t be ordering from here again.

Ordered a steak burger and a steak hoagie. Used a groupon because I thought it would make the whole thing less expensive. I guess it was. Still spent 30 bucks. Delivery was quick and the food was okay. Not sure why it is so expensive though? Could have gotten an equally good burger elsewhere for less. Also ordered a loaded baked potato and much like the burger assembly is required. It wasn’t bad, but it’s too expensive for me to have again. Quality did not match the price tag.

Horrid food and worse service. Bad enough for me to create a Unilocal account. The guy on the phone uttered a derogatory slur under his breath before he hung up on me, for asking for a replacement meal. NOT a ridiculous request seeing how my baked potato was 70% uncooked, cold, crisp, and inedible. My «medium» steak was barely seared. It was bright red throughout and gushing blood. Also the salad greens were rotting and sour, AND to top it off, they forgot my roll. When I called back he lied and said he thought the call was dropped and that’s why he hung up. So I told him to go ahead with the replacement(in a tone fitting a very hungry man who’s been hung up on), and this kid shakily whimpers«I’m not gonna deal with attitude!» I said he was indeed dealing with attitude at this very second and, unless he has a time machine, there isn’t anything he can do about it now. He didn’t like that very much, so he hung up on me again. Obviously, at Texas Stank Gout, the customer is always an asshole. So if you want your food prepared by preschoolers who can’t even muster the intelligence to handle a simple refund without resorting to neanderthalic name calling, go to Texas Steak Out Round Rock.

I thought I would try it since it is one of the few places in Round Rock to deliver. It took 45 minutes for me to get my food which is not bad for delivery. I got the lunch steak tips, baked potato and salad. It was tasty and filling. I definitely would recommend them. My only issue was that the driver didn’t have ones and it was a little pricy.

WOAH! I live near this area and can walk here. I noticed this is really designed to be a delivery place which explains why it is so small and why other reviewers have maybe had issues. Anyone can see that this is not a defined restaurant, especially if they walk in. They have specials posted on the window. I will say that this place is where it’s at. I got the Catfish Friday deal with my SO and it was worth every dollar! This is seriously the best catfish I have ever had. Catch a fish! The fries were done to perfection! I love the herbs that were used on them. Everything we ordered was so good last Friday! The people working there were awesome, too. You have to try the Catfish and fries special. It easily fed 2 people. We will be trying the delivery soon. I don’t understand the low starred reviews because this food was really that good!

Honestly how hard is it to get a to-go order right?! I had the simplest order with a substitution of sweet potato fries. They’ve also gotten past orders wrong as well. Save yourself the disappointment and anger and order take out ANYWHERE else.

First, I want to make it absolutely clear that this review is all about the service and not the quality of the food. Went up to TSO on Sunday evening to get take-out. Another couple was there ordering in front of me. They ordered, I ordered. I went outside to wait on patio. When they came out with their food, I went back in figuring mine was almost ready. They had not even put my food on the grill yet!!! The guy(who was not the one who took my order) explained that the day shift person took my order and then went home without cooking it. So now I was going to have to wait another 20 – 30 minutes for my food. The guy was apologetic but he didn’t even offer me a free iced tea to have while I waited. Then when my steaks were ready, they told me that they didn’t have any sweet potatoes or sweet potato fries, like I had ordered. This is a tiny shop in a strip mall and I can understand that on any given day they will have staff problems, but whoever owns this place needs to teach the employees about customer service. PS: The food was good enough that I might give TSO another chance someday.

Food was not very good. Took a long time to get our food. We ordered delivery for our office work lunch, ordered online, which was great, took over an hour to get to us and we were told when we called to check on our order it would be here in 10 minutes, 30 minutes later, we got it, it did not taste fresh! We all had different things but each had the same opinion. Did not enjoy it. $ 50 for 3 people to eat lunch, WOW I give it two stars because you can order online and that is convenient but that was probably the only good thing.

We ordered a 10oz ribeye medium well and a 6oz ribeye medium rare, sweet potato and loaded mashed potatoes. We got a 6oz ribeye medium well and a 6oz sirloin medium rare. We also got half a sweet potato and regular mashed potatoes, not loaded. When we called to get the order corrected, they argued with us and tried to convince us that a medium well steak loses half its weight in cooking. This is the second time eating here, and first time ordering delivery. The first time was ordering a cheese steak, the meat was good, but everything else was bland. I ended up picking out all the steak. Like others have mentioned, Hoody’s is much better. We will not be going again. Update: We got the ribeye replaced with a sirloin, not a ribeye. Their answer? «We replaced it, we aren’t doing anything else.»

We got this flyer on our door and we agreed to put it on our«lets try» list. This evening we decided to give it a try. As we pulled up, I looked at the place and my gut said naw but hubby said lets give it a try. Walked in, the place is new so it’s really clean. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the cashier was friendly. I ordered the small Rib Eye(Medium Rare) with a Sweet Potato. Hubby ordered a small sirloin(Medium Well) with a Baked Potato. As we sat there waiting, I was looking around, the place is small and they only have a few tables. They have a tv there that only displays advertisement. Our order took over 10 minutes and we were the only ones in there. I already had a feeling my steak was going to be overcooked. We got home within 5 minutes. As soon as we sat down and we unwrapped all the aluminum foil around the potato and steak. My steak had no juice running, I’m already disappointed without tasting it. I pushed it with my finger, no bounce ugh! My steak was overcooked. The positive thing about our food, the side dishes were excellent. They use good Romaine lettuce in the side salad and not iceberg lettuce. My sweet potato was cooked perfectly and the roll was soft and buttery. Hopefully they improve on cooking their steak, it’s just a hop skip and jump to Longhorn.

It was really expensive for what it was. Overpriced. The Philly Cheese Steak was small, yes it was good though: a bit greasy if you like that. The sweet potato fries are good. The option of having it delivered is amazing. I may try again and try something else on the menu.

Food is awesome, fresh, tasty. A few things to note, portions are small, garlic mash has a little too much garlic. Veggies could use more butter :) Chops are great. Love the rolls! All in all a great choice if your trapped at home and tired of Pizza. These guys have it all Steak, burgers, chicken, baked potatoes, veggies, deserts.etc.

This place is new, so I will be gentle with my review. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak(organic beef) with cheese fries. The cheesesteak was made using sliced roast beef instead the usual thin sliced ribeye steak. They are a but skimpy on the meat, and the onions could use a little more caramelization. All in all everything tasted okay. I just thought the place was really over priced. $ 15 for sandwich, fries, and drink is quite high I’m my opinion. The staff was nice, but this place has a lot of work to do if they want to survive.

The good: the chicken was pleasantly smoky and freshly grilled. The staff was as friendly as could be. Service was quick. The bad: chicken was rubbery, bun wasn’t soft, and fries likely came straight from the Sysco truck. This us a good idea poorly executed. I may give them another try because some of this could be corrected through trial and error. Unfortunately this feels like fast food calibre food at fast casual prices.
