Magical Carpet Cleaning

Absolutely awful!!! Run run RUN AWAY the cleaning guy was very unpleasant and rude and did a horrible job. Just so so bad. You get what you pay for with these guys!

I also purchased a deal from Urban Dealight for $ 50 for 4 rooms plus a hallway, up to 1000 sq. ft. When I talked to the receptionist, she seemed very accommodating, especially since I was calling for a last minute carpet cleaning for a vacant apartment I’d moved out of. Long story short, the techs didn’t show up until 36 hours after the initial appointment. When they showed up, they brought up their equipment: a Hoover steamvac and an old, dirty semi-​commercial steam cleaner. That should have been my clue to send them away, but I was so happy they showed up, I ignored my misgivings. Then, one of the techs said that they were booked to only do 4 rooms & counted them as the spare bedroom, dining room, 5 ft. hallway & living room. The master bedroom and closets in both bedrooms would be an extra $ 75 charge, despite the Deal covering up to 1000 sq. ft & our apartment being less than that. Since they had already started, my husband & I agreed, out of desperation & exhaustion from dealing with them. When I returned to do the walk-​through with the apartment manager, there was a musty odor that they left behind and the carpet was soaked, resulting in a $ 150 charge from the management. I’ve attempted multiple times to contact the person in charge of Magical Carpet Cleaning to at very least get a refund of the extra $ 75 we were charged. These attempts have either been met with hostility & excuses («Well, we contract with independent contractors, so we can’t refund you.») or have just been plain ignored. My suggestion to you: Do not use their services. These folks are incompetent, horrible at customer service & are just plain shady.

I bought a deal from Urban Dealight for Magical Carpet Cleaning for $ 50.00 for 4 rooms of carpet cleaning. This company does not list an address anywhere, and when you call the number on the voucher, they answer with Universal Services. After 2 last minute cancellations on their part, the tech finally arrived for the appt. 3 hrs late. He appeared with a small home type rug cleaner, something like a Hoover. He also advised me there was a 15.00 service charge for coming out. This was not ever mentioned on the voucher or by the receptionist that scheduled the appts. This was a hidden charge, and I was not going to be pressured into paying it. I asked him if he had charged all of his customers that service charge, and he said yes, he had. I then told him I was cancelling my appointment because of this. I wonder if they bond these people they send out, or if they even know what that is. This was for a vacant rental home, and I would be hesitant to allow anyone into my home from a sketchy company like this. I called Urban Dealight and they would only credit my account for 50.00 towards my next purchase, not refund my money. I’m sure many people bought the deal, thinking they were getting a reputable, professional company to take care of their carpet cleaning issues. Please be careful whom you allow into your home with your family and children, check them out with the BBB first. By the way, they are not mentioned in the BBB, and I ASSUMED Urban Dealight had checked them out. NOT!
