Truly phenomenally bad service. Like, so bad that it should really just become their thing, like going to Dick’s Last Resort. Modest examples: –Witnessing a waiter pouring water absentmindedly into a patron’s coffee, then laughing about it because I guess what else do you do –A takeout order of biscuits & gravy, and a chicken fried steak, which came with one small gravy and, mystifyingly, a small white queso apparently mistaken for gravy. So, two meals, and we get to pick which one is inedible, hooray. –Receiving chilaquiles made with no sauce whatsoever, which is just, at that point, a pile of dry tortilla strips rattling around I could go on. From what I can tell, this place is staffed almost exclusively by high school kids who are either stoned or really dumb or both.(I recall overhearing a waiter once say that«a la mode» means«on the side» in French.) It takes a lot for a restaurant to own my «f**k this place» scorn, especially if I sometimes like the food, but congrats Kerbey Lane!

Breakfast Lunch or Dinner this is a good place to stop at. Everything breakfast is good you’re busy breakfast stop for the locals. The staff is super friendly and this is the place to eat at!

Kerbey is usually our go-to for a dinner/hangout with friends and family, but lately, the food at this location has been only mediocre. The only item I’ve had that is consistently above average is their Kerbey Queso(you don’t go to Kerbey Lane and NOT order the queso). The French Toast is another item that is actually pretty good, but the eggs and other breakfast sides that come with items like these aren’t spectacular. The service here has always been above-average in my experiences, I just wish the food was as good as it used to be.

I have enjoyed my time and meals at other Kerbey locations, but this one is not yet up to their standard. Our server was nice and accommodating, striking up conversation and comfortable with discussion dietary restrictions, which I was impressed with. The biggest reason as to why I like Kerbey is because they offer vegan pancakes without dairy in them, and that’s SO hard to find. I have had countless delicious pancakes at other locations, so I thought I would order their special of the day, Beignet vegan pancakes. This entails a special glaze that’s actually to die for and powdered sugar all over the pancakes. My friend and I ordered the same set of beignet pancakes, although mine was vegan. I had come to this location in December and ordered the same, but my pancakes came out plain and not vegan, so I was hoping history wouldn’t repeat itself and stressed the vegan pancakes. Hers were brought out at least five minutes before mine were, and they looked delicious! Mine was brought out and they were plain, ordinary pancakes. I mentioned this to the server who brought my food and she simply offered to bring me the toppings on the side, no apology and no attempt to take them back and present them as they should be. When our waiter came to check on us, I let him know about the mishap and he at least apologized. However, I was certainly disappointed. Essentially, the service is decent although details are easily overlooked. If you can, choose one of the other locations!

We had a party of 5 on a Sunday morning. Service was slow at best. After completing the meal we waited 15 minutes for our check. Disappointing. The pancakes were only fine. Nothing special. Avoid the biscuits and gravy. Gravy was bland. The bright spot in the meal… home fries. Will find other breakfast options in the future.

I LOVETHISPLACE! Great service, delicious food, and just a comfortable setting. Everyone is just so nice. They act as if they’re happy to be at work. People were coming in hugging each other and asking how they were doing(workers). My server was just so nice and carried on a conversation with me. I believe her name was Samantha. Thank you for the great service!!! Second time going to a Kerbey Lane. Food is just great. Another place I’ll go to.

So I was contacted by the business and was informed that training opportunities are in place to improve customer experience. I have to say I am very happy that someone reached out to me so quickly and took action to fix the problems I had. This is the Kerbey Lane business model that I love about Austin.

Trendy lil place open 24 hrs… we went there after midnight on Saturday to get some early Sunday morning breakfast. the food was pretty yummy and it was just what we wanted. I got eggs Benedict and the wife got an omelet and pancakes. M. y eggs were over cooked but the rest was very yummy. Wife loved her pancakes. Not my kind of place as it was full of teenagers and the drunk crowd which neither appeals to me. but the food was yummy.

I was so excited to try Kerbey Lane and we tried to beat the sunday rush by arriving at 11:30. An Hour and 15 minute wait they told us, so we just snagged bar seats and sat almost instantly instead. I told the front desk and they said ok, but still texted me for my table ready at 12:15. For an hour and 15 minute wait you’d think this place was packed, it wasn’t, except at the waiting area. We counted 3 – 4 tables open the whole time we were there. I went with the migas, and my fiancé the chicken benny. We watched from the bar counter the food just sitting and waiting to be taken out the whole time. We started to time and wait to see if an item would ever get pulled to go to their tables! Every order was flashing red on the screen, but this must be the norm as no one seemed to have a face of panic. What i observed was there was no communication between the kitchen — someone just kept sending out egg plates while the plates that obviously take longer weren’t yet ready. Besides our game, we also had to take in the guests who were complaining about how long their food was taking. I hate to pull a «Hells Kitchen» but seriously, why isn’t there communication on each order to have better efficiency? Finally our order arrives, and mine was stale, old and dry. Without the queso it would’ve been even more disappointing. My point in being from above, my fiancé loved his dish. But that’s because his was more complex and not just thrown on a plate sitting under the heater.

It’s new so, growing pains maybe? No excuse for the hostess– I called ahead from around the corner(I was heading SB on 35, so at the intersection to turn around) to ask about the wait, she said 5 minutes. I ask to be put on the list, she said they don’t do that and to download this app. Took me a min to find it, then I had to sign up(I was a passenger, promise!), got through it– the app said«come on in, no wait!»… Went in, there was a bit of a crowd and a MIA hostess. After a couple minutes she showed up and was adding to their list(tf? Empty tables all over…) and said it was a 20 – 30 min wait. Why. Just wtf. No pancakes for meeee.

Bad server experience. Been here several times and this is the first time we’ve experienced bad service. You’re getting two stars because of bad service. The server didn’t greet or introduced himself; our appetizer came with our food; we didn’t get refills until we were done while we watched the other tables he was serving got their refills; not once did he check our table; no smile; unfriendly. Not sure if he was having a bad day; nevertheless, his service made our stay unpleasant.

One of the few places in the Round Rock, Georgetown Area that you can get a breakfast that isn’t Tacos. I still like the egg, potato, toast and bacon way to start my day. Not a big fan of IHOP or Denny’s so not a lot of choices out this way. Pancakes and French Toast or as I like to call it Freedom Toast, heck with those smelly French, are good also.

Pulled pork nachos were good. Great size for a female who isn’t starving. A guy would need something bigger but I liked the size, flavor and the price

Don’t sit at the counter as no one will acknowledge you but multiple people will walk past you, not a smile, not a nod, not a «just a sec» or anything. Finally asked if someone was working that area after about 7 minutes. The server(she has green hair) that I stopped was very nice and took my order. The veggie burger was decent, the avocado the kitchen put on was shameful(80% black avocado means no good) and a small portion for $ 1.25(probably about a tablespoon worth). Scraped it off and ate my sweet potato fries and the burger. The sauce for the burger was pretty good! Kyle refilled my water twice during my meal. Then I waited for someone to ask if I was finished(I’d pushed the dishes to their side of counter which generally signifies«I’m done») and finally the green haired lady came back. She brought me the bill after getting the avocado removed and I only waited another 5 – 10 minutes for my card to be swiped. I spent over half my time just waiting for someone. Good thing I was in no hurry. Don’t sit at the counter as no one has ownership after the lunch crowd, I guess(I can’t see it being unmanned all day). The veggie burger is pretty good, as are the sweet potato fries. Do ask for Niki(Nikki) the lady with green hair or Kyle to be your server as they were both really nice and helpful. And don’t get the avocado unless you wanna be disappointed.

This visit bumped my review up a star, all of which was due to the stellar/superb service… can’t remember the last time I didn’t have to hunt someone down for a coffee refill. My omelet of the southwest variety was very good, just a tad too much bell pepper, my wife loved her pancakes, and our friend and the bestest realtor on the planet loved her blueberry pancake with an over easy egg and bacon… I would love the pancakes too… but they don’t like me… too many carbs.

1st trip: Mediterranean salad — with chicken –YUM! 5 stars 2nd trip: chicken tortilla soup– it was ok 3rd trip: Cobb Salad — perfect I have liked everything I have eated at Kerbey Lane– my husband ordered the greek chicken plate and loved it. The only thing he was not too crazy about was the chicken fried chicken and mac n cheese.(too greasy) But they are super in love with their own queso. He said he ordered something that normally comes with gravy — and they kept asking are you sure you don’t want that with queso instead, he said yes a few times. I thought it was hilarious that they tried to get us to order queso a total of 3x in some form or fashion. I think management pushes them to push their queso — maybe good profit margins? idk. never tried it but maybe someday :)

There is a Kerby crowd. An IHOP crowd and a Denny’s crowd. All 3 of these 24 hour establishments are within 1 mile of each other– and its strangely wonderful to have them to chose from. But, for FOOD, Kerby definitely has them beat! There isn’t much from Kerby that I’ve/we’ve tried that we didn’t like! I could eat Cowboy Queso until I couldn’t move. And their chips, they’re PERFECT for queso and salsa(which definitely has heat). Their desserts didn’t impress me, BUT, I enjoyed it being complimentary for my birthday. Very much our breakfast go to, and 12pm-2am food spot. They aren’t «cheap», but it’s worth it here.

Most of my Kerbey experience has been at the original location. I used to work close to that store and it became one of my hangouts when running back and forth on call at the hospital. Those days are gone. It’s nice to have this Kerbey up in the Rizzle area. There aren’t many places in the area where you can find a good old fashioned American breakfast, so this is a welcome addition to the ever growing food scene on the 35 corridor. First off let me touch on the«what I love about Kerbey» spiel. 1. They are local home grown mo-fo’s. 2. They support local. 3. They are 24 hours. 4. Fresh food made from scratch. 5. Everyone is friendly. 6. They don’t discriminate to those who like to ink up and pierce themselves. 7. Good portions. 8. Bacon gravy. Yes I said BACONGRAVY! 9. Huge ass delicious pancakes. How can anyone eat more than one? 10. Bacon and sausage kick ass! 11. Huge freaking biscuits! 12. Eggs from Vital. That’s what I use at home. 13. Real Maple Syrup is like two bucks cheaper than at Magnolia. 14. They have a breakfast bar(first come first served). 15. The retro looking silver dome light thingy’s. What I don’t like. 1. They are already too popular. 2. Host/Hostess seem to be unsure of seating(as far as what is available/up for cleaning/ready to seat). 3. My biscuits and gravy weren’t served open faced! The biscuits are thick(like at Dan’s) and the gravy was ladled over top of them. Served this way ended up with not enough gravy(I had to ask for extra) and the biscuits got to dry. Serve them open face guys! 4. Coffee refills were slow. 5. So far that’s it. Pros vs Cons.

In between 3&4 stars. Not that anything was bad, but nothing was really exceptional either. When I first moved to Austin a few years ago and went to the original location, I thought the vegan pancakes were excellent. Now Kerby Lane seems more like a chain. The new Round Rock location is nice — a big modern looking restaurant. A huge plus is the playground outside — my niece, along with other kids who were antsy took advantage of it ;) I had the vegan orange spice pancake which was good but a little on the dry side and drizzled with some glaze which made it a little too sugary for me. I also had a cheese, potato and egg breakfast taco. And a mimosa. eh. My sister and brother-in-law had some egg scramble thing. It’s a nice place to take family to on a weekend.

I don’t get the negative reviews. It makes me furious how people are so quick to judge the staff based on looks! Get the hell over your self really. You are giving round rock a bad name. I’m a huge fan of any kerby location. If you want a conservative wait staff and horrible food go across the street to ihop. This is my third visit here today and I brought along my parents. They loved it.
