It’s always hard to find a trustworthy mechanic when moving to a new city. I hopped around when I first moved to the Austin area trying to find a mechanic who listened to me and who did what they said they would and who didn’t try to take advantage of someone who doesn’t know a lot about cars. Finally, I found Jerry at Dependable Automotive in Round Rock. It’s been about 5 years now and I am still very happy with the service and my car is always running smoothly! I can’t thank Jere and team enough. I’ve been visiting for more than 4 years and I recommend them to all my friends. Honest, fair, hard working and they truly care for their customers.

We took a 2000 Mustang in for a clutch replacement. They kept it for one week and as soon as we got it back we knew it was not right. They told us to drive it around a while and let it settle in. We took it to another shop and found out the flywheel was out of balance when they re-​machined it. After spending another $ 800 in another shop my car is finally right. I’ve got two issues with this shop. 1. They gave it back to us broken and they knew it. 2. And they’re still thinking about whether they’re going to give us our money back on the unbalanced flywheel.

I tried these guys out with a Living Social special for an oil change and tire rotation. I will be returning for my next oil change! These guys were super friendly, and being a person who can read people quite well– they seem to live up to their name «Dependable» and honest! It’s great finding trustworthy people, especially in this industry. If you find yourself in Round Rock needing an oil change or any other car repair for that matter, you should definitely try this place out!

I was referred to these guy from a hair client of mine. She raved about how honest and wonderful they were. I have had some terrible experiences in the past, but I figured it was worth a shot. We orginally had an appointment with a mechanic in Taylor who told us it was a valve replacement and said my car was in rough shape. We had our doubts about him, so we called the trusted Dependable Automotive.
I called and spoke the Jerry. He was kind, and offered to have me drop of my car to look it over. He said he would be unable to look at it today, but would look at it first thing tomorrow. A few hours later I get a call. He said he fit me and good news… no oil leak! He said it was likely from the place I had my oil changed most recently. They cleaned up all the oil and did it FREE of charge! These guys could have given me a run for my money. Instead they were up front and honest about everything. And looked over my car for free? In a world today, this is a rare occassion that I can find good customer service, much less honest guys. It’s a miracle, I still can’t believe mechanice like these guys exsist.
These guys are the absolute best. Very friendly and they will explain everything to you so you don’t leave lost and confused. They even told me about possible work that I would need in the future too. I am so pleased with my service that I intend on telling all of my salon clients and everyone I know about them. Great local guys with tons of experience and knowledge. This is the one and only shop we will be returning too. Thanks guys for making our day and experience such a positive one!!!
