Chilaquiles worst I have in my whole life, waitress asked if I liked them told her i did not cause they tasted like mole not like real chilaquiles salsa so she bitched at me and said «its not mole sauce and I know it cause i have taste it and work here everyday» so i Just laughed, after all she took my plate and gave other option, sadly I had the favor from my first plate… I will never go back to that place…

Great little diner. Love this place. The staff is very friendly always a pleasant experience at this location. I’ve ate at the other locations but this one by far is the best. Anytime my family comes in from out-​of-​state we always go there. Always satisfied.

I’ve been here twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times I loved it! The guacamole is phenomenal and a must order each time. You get as much chips as you want… Which is good and bad.
I’ve gotten the beef tongue tacos and they are to die for. Tender and tasty. The flan for dessert was also pretty great. My friends have also gotten various tacos and everyone has loved their food. Prices are perfect and the service is always fast regardless of how many in the place

Would eat here once a week– great service and excellent food. After picking up our dinner I found sour cream on our nacho platters, which I despise. I always ask for no sour cream and was never an issue. Went back in and told the owner, who apologized and had new nacho platters made. While waiting I watched the cook scrape off the sour cream and throw some cheese on top. I asked for a refund and the owner was upset with the staff, made fresh nachos and refunded my money. Thought we would be ok moving forward. Tried them again tonight, got home and opened the nachos’s and guess what? Lots-​o-​sour cream. Seems like the service has fallen off a cliff. Very sad– was our favorite restaurant.

I only gave one star because the option of negative stars is not available… No i did not eat the food because the fact that i must sit down at a dirty table and get Salsa and chip from a women who is bitting her nails in plain site and a menu that was so dirty I couldnt touch it was enough grossness for one day … Thanks but no thanks … Really NO THANKS

I work in the city and eat a lot of Mexican food, never found a joint even close to what elnorte is. Best Mexican food hands down, service is also great.

Ordered the tamales which was shredded pork with a spicy red sauce, not too spicy, just the right amount of heat. so I recommend getting those. also ordered the 3 steak taco dinner which was pretty good compared to other Mexican restaurants who boil their meat. I enjoy this place grills it.

THE best Mexican food in Lake County. I’ve tried so many places in Lake County and no one beats Tacos El Norte. Food is always fantastic. My only problem is occasionally when I order a Chile Rellenos burrito, there are seeds left inside the peppers. Or the chile Rellenos aren’t cooked long enough and are still raw
Their mole sauce is tops… everything else is excellent including the customer service!

Hidden gem! I was craving tacos and found this place nearby. Great food, speedy and courteous service — we were very satisfied. We’ll definitely be back. :)

Killer tacos. 3 asada dinner with avocado, rice and beans. House margarita was very smooth.

I have been going to this place for years and it has been great every time. I recommend the beef tacos, steak fajitas, and some of the best sopes. They also have some of the best guacamole, its worth the $ 6 though. My favorite Mexican joint for miles.

I ordered the steak and chicken tacos and they were both just loaded!!! The cilantro was so fresh it gave everything just a perfect flavor! Thank you so much for the extremely fast wonderful food!

So good! Combination plate for the win! I get taco, enchilada and quesadilla with rice and beans.

I love this place. It’s really cheap and the food is great! The restaurant is clean and they serve chips and salsa with your meal. That isn’t included at every restaurant but I consider it pretty much a necessity for a good Mexican food meal!

I think we go to this location weekly, that’s how much we love this place!

Great food everytime. They always have great flavors and do everything from scratch which makes it very authentic. They are usually pretty steady so you know they do things right each and every time. I have a medium heat threshold but the Shrimp Verecuzana gets me everytime as a very diverse dish with all the heat of Mexico. Yum

I come in here often for lunch. I was told that this is El Savadorian based Mexican food by friends but I really like this in the area. They always have soccer on TV whenever I am in there. Plenty of chips and salsa when you sit down. Service can be better but the food is served quick. I really enjoy their tacos… especially the steak and or pork tacos.

The food is very delicious, I personally go with the steak tacos & rice.
Put it down with a Mexican soda (Jarrito) and you’ve just had a great Mexican meal!

I like coming here because you can always get a seat and the service is quick. Even better, they serve up good Mexican food and a relatively good price.
I wouldn’t say it’s the best, as for me the best Mexican food is reserved for a food cart I often visited which was always located just outside the Long Bar, in Tijuana, Mexico.
Anyways, here at Tacos El Norte, you find what I would say is slightly Americanized Mexican food… my favorite here are their tacos… all sorts and made up just right. Give me 2 chicken and 2 sausage tacos, with extra chilies and a double order of refried beans and I’m all set here. love the tacos and great refried beans. The burritos are good here as well… although I find the enchiladas a bit disappointing.
So, if your in the area and wanting some good, simple, Mexican food, in a clean environment, with plenty of room and friendly staff… then this is the place to come.
