Started my visit by walking up to the register line and only one person was taking orders with 4 people in line waiting. It was 3:30 and only a few patrons in the restaurant already eating. Finally another employee walked up to the other register and stood there not making any eye contact with the people waiting in line. I had to walk over and ask her if she was taking orders to get her to acknowlege anyone in the line waiting. Needless to say no tip was left for my togo order. I ordered the Chinese shortrib taco to go. Immediately got in my car, pulled out of the parking lot and took a bite out of my taco. COLD!!! Furthermore, said shortrib taco but was nothing more than a cheap piece of meat cut into fajita style strips. Seems like they are trying to capitalize on the trend of using shortrib but using another cut. Not a great experience. Might try another location if I decide to go back but it is obvious that this location doesn’t even have the basics down. If you can’t give courteous service and serve hot food I can’t give you my hard earned money. Giving 2 stars because the restaurant was clean. The presentation of the taco was pleasing other than the faux shortrib and the cold temp.

I actually like Tin Drum, despite the average rating on Unilocal. My experience was a take-out during a busy lunch hour. Ordering over the phone was relatively simple and finding the place wasn’t too hard either. As I entered I noticed that the seating was limited in comparison to the other Tin Drum location. It was full, nonetheless during lunch hour, so if you’re planning to dine-in I highly recommend that you arrive before the lunch crowd. My food choice was the basil fried rice, and I would say it was very tasty and definitely something I would order again. The woman who handed me my order was as nice as she could be during the rush hour. The price is right for the quality and amount of food as well, which makes this particular Tin Drum worthy of a 5 star review.

I generally only use Unilocal to review local restaurants and leave the chains out of it but I am pretty shocked by the inefficiency of this store. 5⁄5 of my last orders have been wrong. Today, I ordered one online and it was wrong and I watched them deliver food to someone who had ordered in the store before mine was complete. Why would I even order online if it’s not going to be ready for pick-up? The previous time I ordered in store and the order was entirely wrong. It was the same order as the diner before me. The pad thai that I have gotten from their has been too mushy to eat. Improve yourself!

I always order mango chicken extra extra spicy… never happens. Just a few jalapeños are added no real difference. There is one girl that works the counter usually, she needs a quick course in customer service. Very preoccupied and not customer focused. Lastly serve the mango chicken with a fork and knife not a spoon. The chicken chunks are so big you need a knife to cut them up.

I used to love Tin Drum when they first opened. Now, the food is just not good any more and most of the menu items I loved(drumroll wrap and samosas) are no longer on the menu. This wouldn’t make this particular location to blame, but it’s a symptom of an overall decline. The last time I ordered, I got Lo Mein. It tasted like plain noodles that had been coated in raw soy sauce. There was hardly any chicken and what was there was mostly fat or overcooked.

Service was great, the hostess is kind and upbeat. Good came out very quickly and was good. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and the chicken was a little tough to chew which ruined the taste so I didn’t finish it, but the rice and veggies were super yummy!

I get it that this is an Asian fusion place and not traditional asian but can’t get over the fact that the Basil Fried Rice didn’t contain even a hint of basil. Granted I was able to eat most of the dish, but very disappointed.

I previously came here twice. Once on weekday and once on weekend. On the weekday the dish is good. But on the weekend, it’s just ok. And the steak doesn’t taste fresh on the weekend. This is my second weekend and still the same.

Terrible! I walked over because the line at Chipotle was too long and then seriously regretted it… Should have just waited! The portion was tiny for $ 10 and my Lomein was so salty it wasn’t even edible. Don’t recommend!

The food was good but DONOT order online and pay for the food online and expect not to have to wait in the same line as everyone else ordering their food for the first time. I had to wait almost 15 mins. for the gal at the register to hand me the bag of food which I had to warm up in the microwave when I got back to the office. What is the point of ordering online and paying online when you have to still wait to pick up the food? Tin Drum should take a lesson from how Panera operates their TOGO business. Needless to say I will not be ordering online again.

Would have gotten a five but my last trip really was bad. So, my first time here the lovely and knowledgeable Kiara suggested the Pad Thai. Great decision! Service was quick and the Pad Thai was sweet, spicy, savory deliciousness. Went back the following week for the Pad Thai, didn’t get to see Kiara lovely smile and when I got back to the office there was some strange rice dish in my bag! They lose a star for the order snafu!

Grabbed a couple of orders here with my daughter on a snow day. Pad Woon Sen and Basil Fried Rice hit the spot. The only thing I wish is that they wouldn’t cook their chicken so long — it’s flavorless and dry. I never remember this until I take the first bite of my dish.

We were hoping this would be our go-to Asian bistro in this area, but this place seems wildly inconsistent. On my wife’s first trip she had the pad Thai, but she did not enjoy it. She was assured by her friend who took her there that other dishes were better, so we went together yesterday and tried the Singapore noodles and the mango chicken. The Singapore noodles were served in a deep bowl, which allowed a lot more of the oil to pool at the bottom. The chicken was a bit tough, and the curry on the noodles was still a little gritty. It also had mushrooms, which I haven’t seen in other iterations of that dish previously, but if you like mushrooms I’m sure it’s fine. The mango chicken was the best dish so far, except that it seemed to be served on top of a quarter of a portion of brown rice. It would be better served with a bowl of rice to the side so that the rice doesn’t all get super saturated with the sauce. I was surprised to see Thai tea available for the normal drink cup, and it was pretty good, but I tired of it way more quickly than single serving versions of the drink. The blackberry jasmine tea was probably the best non-carbonated beverage available. Overall, we probably will go back from time to time, but we are still searching for something to replace our Asian bistro from our old home.

I remember the first time I tried Tin Drum and it was actually pretty good. It was at the location near Perimeter about 4 or 5 years ago. It seems with the expansion of more franchise locations they have lost their spunk along the way. I remember I used to get the phở, the spicy ramen(not on menu anymore), and many of their thai dishes and it tasted really fresh for a fast-casual joint. But when I went to eat at this new location a few months ago. I ordered their phở and it was the biggest disgrace to the cuisine I had ever tasted. The broth was sweet when it is usually supposed to be salty. It came out luckwarm, and anyone that knows Phở, knows that the broth needs to be coming out piping hot to be authentic. The worst part was the«beef»… Instead of the traditional slices of rare steak you find in any phở joint near Buford hwy, they used some sort of ground hamburger beef. It was terrible. The service was good and they were friendly so I can’t give them a one star but honestly the name Tin Drum used to have some dignity.

After driving past so many times and always wondering how good the food was since a good friend of mine would frequent the Georgia Tech location any times as a student there years ago, I decided to stop in Tin Drum for a late lunch today. There was maybe only one other patron inside besides myself so there was no long wait, and I was greeted by the cashier. Upon entering, I noticed the restaurant was very clean with ample seating, and instead of taking my lunch to go, I decided to dine in. I believe Tin Drum is a Thai fast food chain(correct me if I’m wrong), and it’s been years since I’ve had Thai. Was I expecting anything authentic? Nope, but I did want to give it a try. I chose the Sesame Stir Fry with grilled instead of crispy chicken. The food was made to order and within minutes it was brought out to me. All in all, it was decent. I felt like there was more rice than grilled chicken and broccoli, but it wasn’t that bad. I would come back to try a different dish to see if my opinion changes.

I hadn’t been to a Tin Drum in ages, but my coworker said that their chicken tikka masala was nice and spicy, so we stopped in for lunch. She got that and I got the kung pao stir fry and a basil roll. I like that they’ve added pictures of most of the items so that it is easy to see what you’re getting. Some of the tables are screwed into the floor, which made for some tight quarters, but the food came quickly so it’s not like I had that long to dwell on the seating. The CTM was definitely spicy. The basil roll was ok — the veggies were a little pickled/limp/damp as if they were past their prime… but the Kung Pao stir fry was good, with flavorful with plenty of kick. I would’ve preferred more veggies — not just onions and peppers, but I did enjoy the fine chop on the peanuts. Both bowls come with at least 2 cups of white rice underneath the chosen item.

I can say there are many tasty dishes on the menu. I can’t speak for the chicken, but their tofu is pretty good. My favorites are Panang curry, Basil fried rice, and Sing Chow Men. The Panang is a rich coconut milk based curry with some veggies. I always get extra broccoli with this one. The basil fried rice has some onion and garlic notes, a good savoriness I can’t place, and pops of basil(!). The Singapore noodles have some good spice stuff going on like a mix of South and Southeast asian flavors. Very tasty. Best appetizers go to the crispy shrimp tacos, the Thai basil rolls, and veggie/crab spring rolls. I do have some not-so-favorites, like their Pad Thai. It’s in a overly sweet and sour kind of sauce, so I’d recommend staying away from this one. The prices are pretty reasonable, about 8 – 9 bucks for a filling entrée and all the water you care to drink. I highly recommend this place!

I have to say that I love Tin Drum and have been to the locations in Cumming, Perimeter, and Atlantic Station to get my fix. When the husband and I suddenly spotted this location near our house the other night, we were(1) shocked that it had opened without us even knowing that one was coming our way and(2) both excited about the proximity to our house and frightened by the proximity to our house. Takeout in our future? Yes. So less than 48 hours after spotting this location, we were back to give it a try. It’s certainly smaller than their other stores and has a heck of a lot less space for ordering, but that’s ok if you walk in knowing what you want. This probably isn’t the best location if you need to stand around making a decision about what to order. Unlike other reviewers, we had no problem with service. The girl behind the counter was friendly, and the service was speedy. There were no issues with our orders, and we devoured our food with great vigor. My husband went with his old standby of the chicken pad thai, and I opted for the chicken teriyaki stir fry with sauteed chicken. We were completely satisfied at the end of the meal. As far as takeout Asian chains are concerned, I don’t think you can beat the quality of Tin Drum. Is it super authentic? Probably not. But it beats the stew out of the nastiness I’ve experienced at other, more common chains found in just about every strip mall.

I love their massaman curry! I’ve had it a few times. It’s the best I’ve found in Roswell thus far. They’re veggie spring rolls are fresh and crunchy and the sweet sauce that comes with it is delicious. The only thing I would change is the amount of onions in a veggie massaman curry. It had lots of onions, a few potatoes, a couple cashews, like 4 carrots and one thin slice of avocado. I would add more carrots, potatoes and avocado to a veggie massaman and it would be perfect cause the flavor is great! Staff is very friendly and food was served quickly.
