Houck’s Grille

Food and Service is as good as anywhere. An unexpected band playing was the answer for a perfect evening with friends. This is a place I will frequent.

We had dinner at Houck’s Grille after our Urban Escape Games (in Roswell and lots of fun!) experience, and we are glad that we did! The fried shrimp was crunchy and fresh, the black and bleu chips had the right amount of tartness and was a tasty appetizer (and a bit addictive), and the salmon with corn and apple risotto was delicious. All the food we had tasted great and our wait staff was super friendly. We would order each item again and WILL be back.

Houck’s has a wonderfully warm, upbeat, inviting feel. Someone called it a sports bar but I don’t get that vibe at all; I would call it a very nicely decorated modern American grille. The staff seems to genuinely enjoy working here and they couldn’t have been more friendly or professional during my visit. I can almost always find something to complain about but I’ll be damned if this wasn’t the perfect lunch experience. I had the Houck’s salad with grilled salmon and everything about it was just perfect. A nice mix of wonderfully fresh greens and veggies, bacon and mushrooms (shitaki or maybe oyster?) with fresh, perfectly grilled salmon and just the right amount of dressing. I sampled the chicken chibata it was just wonderful, moist and flavorful and perfectly grilled as well. Even the bathrooms are five star (see photo). I plan on becoming a regular, so I’m sure I’ll eventually find something to nitpick, but in the mean time if you’re looking for an extremely well run spot with great food and atmosphere, Houck’s is it.

Atmosphere was awesome! Houck’s is a fun place to eat and hang out. There was a band playing when we were there, but we ate on the restaurant side. I could tell they were a good band though because it was packed in that room. Food was delicious. Had the ahi tuna appetizer and steak «nachos» to start. Both were well prepared. The chips on the steak nachos were homemade! I had the fish tacos for dinner and my friend had the salmon. Both were great and fish was cooked to perfection. Next time I go, I want to try the fried chicken or shrimp. Service was also goid. All the staff seemed friendly and attentive.

We scheduled an event with Houcks for a birthday. The event coordinator went over and above to make sure everything went smoothly and staff was awesome! We can’t wait to come back. Definitely recommend. Not only for the staff but for Matt Meacham’s awesome food.

Great atmosphere with friendly service. The live music is definitely something to check along with the great food. Will be back for more.

This place is the bees knees. Service was top notch, the food was amazing, and most importantly the place has great energy. Love the live music in the private dining room as well.

I was eager to try this place as they poached Executive Chef Matt Meacham and others from Peach & The Pork Chop. Matt was a journeyman chef whose career zoomed at P&PC.
We tried a few things at Houck’s. I’m going to say Meacham’s once-​promising career has taken a major step backwards. I mean the food is satisfactory, but nothing more than that.
As others have pointed out, it is noisy. You can poach the employees from P&PC, but you… well whatever. They have an appeal to the masses menu and I guess it’s good enough to make it. This is not a foodie destination. Godspeed Matt on your curious decision.

It’s back! My husband and I were huge fans of the original Houck’s in East Cobb. This new place does not disappoint. The staff is so friendly and efficient. They seem genuinely happy to be there and to serve you. The food is great. Our favorite is the fried shrimp. Butterflied, large and succulent! Ribs are yummy too. I also love the blackened shrimp flatbread. If you want corporate, go to a chain, but if you want to support a locally owned business where they actually remember you and know your favorite drink, go to Houck’s Grille.

So glad they are back. One of my favorite restaurants of all. Love the new location and love all the food and how spacious it is. Their event space hosted an awesome football party for us. Thank you.

Visited on the second day of operation. Staff was very nice. Our food was served within a reasonable time after ordering. Our food was warm but dry. For a second day of operation, it as pretty good. My only complaint, and it may be a deal breaker for a return was the noise level… unbearably noisy. Even my teenage daughter found the noise level excruciating. Perhaps we will retry in the spring when we can eat outdoors.
