great food and great service. Dog friendly patio and staff are always super welcoming and friendly. Great spot for casual dinner or just hanging out

I’ve been looking for a place like this to be a great neighborhood hangout. My husband and I ordered the caprese salad and the classic pizza. The food was delicious! They have a great big patio and you can even bring your pup. This place is everything you want in a chill local spot; good food, selection of draft beers, and great service.

Diesel’s family atmosphere is welcoming and refreshing. The service, especially Mike, Courtney and Pop are great. I loved every moment watching the big games there and drinking my IPAs. Can’t wait to go back

I really wanted to like this place! I’ve driven past it for years, plus its in downtown Roswell, which I generally associate with high quality food and restaurants. We wandered in early on a Friday evening. We have a 4 year old, so having great options for her is a must. There was live music, which was excellent except that the patio seating area is compact so it was VERY loud. Like no talking to each other cuz I can’t hear anyway loud. The sign on the way in said«see Pop to be seated». I’m assuming Pop is an owner? He’s a sweet old man and directed us to a table. The table itself felt like it was on springs, so my large drink kept spilling over. The patio felt kind of dirty as well. I ordered the diesel classic panini, my husband the pesto panini and we ordered our kiddo fried Mac n cheese. The food took a long time to arrive. It was OK. Nothing particularly special. My sandwhich came with a salad, which I didn’t even touch because it was all brown and wilted(yuck). The fried Mac n cheese was so weird. Salty, overly processed .kind of like fair food. The worst part was the price. My sandwich was $ 10 and my daughters meal was 7.99. Pricey for a kids meal. Overall, I wouldn’t go again. Its bar food at higher end prices. A disappointment.

Everybody loves a good pizza right? Of course. A place that specializes in pizza pies you can’t go wrong right? Wrong! I ask the bartender for a suggestion and the ‘Diesel Classic’ is their absolute best. What a terrible pie! Absolutely no flavor, I’m adding salt to the pizza pie just to get something other than a cheesy texture bite. On a higher note though, the bartending staff will keep you coming again and again. All females and they are a pleasure to deal with! Good beer selection as well.

Not impressed. Again. Ate here last night. Server was bad. Couldn’t seem to keep our order straight. Food was alright. It wasn’t busy, but if he would have moderated how much time he was spending with his friends, he would have been appreciated more. I had to go ask him for an additional food order since he did not check on the table after the three trips to get our food choices pretty close to what we wanted. To find gratuity was automatically added made little sense, or a lot of sense depending on being a patron or a lousy server. Previous experience was very poor too. Months ago had gone with friends. Food took forever to come out. A woman I was with waited an hour for a slice of cheese pizza. I plan to avoid this place going forward.

I love this place, mostly because I love places LIKE this. Maybe I’m a lowlife at heart, or maybe I’m just completely sick of all the mediocre restaurants in downtown Roswell trying to palm themselves off as «fine dining estabilshments.» The barmaid was attractive, friendly, and great at her job. The specialty slice was giant with a perfect crust and — after some parmesan from the shaker and dash or three of hot sauce and black pepper — really hit the spot. I had a side spinach salad which was also huge and loaded high quality, fresh ingredients. If you are tired of second-class pseudo chic and just want to kick back at Roswell’s least pretentious spot, try this place out. I can’t wait to come back with my best friend, Punkin the Wonder Dog!

Very mediocre food, bad service, nice patio. Our food came out at all different times, and cold… Pops the owner/manager thought this was totally acceptable. Not the place for me.

Worst service ever!!! There was 1 waitress working the entire restaurant for lunch. 3 other male employees that were the cooks kept going out back smoking cigarettes. The food was marginal at best. Would never go back & would not recommend for anyone to waste their money at Diesel!

Terrible service. This was our second time here. We waited 10 minutes for a waiter. After flagging down a server we ordered and proceeded to wait for over an hour for 2 pizzas. We had 2 kids with us, so I went to ask the manager where our food was. He was no help. We paid our beverage bill and left without eating dinner. An hour and 20 minutes there with no food. We will not be going back.

Very weird place… Dirty, the food is very average(being nice), seems like nobody cares… It doesn’t look like they care about the clients or anything. I wouldn’t go back or recommend it to anyone…

Extremely sloooooooooow service. Staff just does not care. Took them forever to bring us a menu and even worse for food to arrive. We had pretty much to catch the waiters as they were walking by to get them to bring us a menu, take our order and then to inquiry multiple times about our food. Food itself very average, not worth the wait.

I usually like to go out and try lots of new places, but I am happy to be a «regular» here. my boyfriend is a pizza fanatic and he has deemed this his favorite pizza in the Atlanta area. The staff has always been friendly and the cooks do whip up a tasty, fresh pizza. We aren’t usually there to enjoy the live music, but the times that we have were great. I love that the place is dog friendly and it’s a great place to chill and enjoy a slice or two!

We’ve eaten here a few times, and, it seems, it just gets worse each visit. It’s a cool space, I’ll give you that, but that’s about it. It’s turned into a snooty Roswell ‘hipster’ joint, where the management believes you owe them for even walking through their door. It’s a small space to begin with, so when you walk in and there isn’t any room to move, and you cannot find a server to seat you, that’s a bad start. Add to that the obnoxious families with their children blocking you from even moving through the space, again, not a good vibe. This time, we had to ask the sous chef«Um, do we just grab a table?» That’s what he told us to do. We sat, read the menu, and sat, and sat, and sat, and sat. I kept getting up, looking around for a server. Finally, I went back to sous chef, «Do you have any servers or wait staff? We’ve been sitting for more than ten minutes?» He looked at me, incredulously, and said, «We have two servers.» I said, «Might be nice if you let one of them know we exist.» The next thing I know, this obnoxious server comes over, no apologies, and with an attitude of «whatever.» Asks us if we know what we want to order, and takes our order and asks us for drink orders. It was pretty easy: Water with lemon. After ten more minutes, we still have no water. Why? Because the server was too busy schmoozing with a big table of people, talking about what a wonderful soccer player he is, and regaling them with oh-so-interesting stories that we could all hear, because he had such a big mouth. That was it. We got up, and, again, told the sous chef, «You just lost business because of your idiot server. He’s too interested in himself and entertaining to even bring our water to the table. We will not return.» Sous chef was like«Oh, okay, sorry.» Oh, okay, sorry, pretty much sums up Diesel as far as the food and the service. We walked over to Salt, which was just a little more expensive for lunch but the service is excellent.

Love the service: beautiful, charming servers, good at their jobs. Great food; I recommend the Hemi burger, but of course the ‘za is tasty too. Good beer selection, and served in appropriate glassware for all us beer geeks. Patio is chill. Really great to hang on a fall evening.

It’s a cool little spot — used to be a gas station — with so much potential but the experience was flat for us. I’ve lived in the area for years and often frequent many of the restaurants in this area but I’d never stopped in here before. The place we originally wanted to go to was packed with a line out the door on a Tuesday night, so we nixed that idea due to our hungry stomachs screaming in protest and stopped at Diesel because they didn’t seem busy. Service was good for us(judging from other reviews, this might be a rarity?) — she was prompt and attentive and we didn’t have to wait very long. We started with the Garlic Bread — fresh toasted bread, topped with garlic & oregano seasoning & melted mozzarella cheese with a side of our savory marinara sauce — and it was eh. Greasy, rubbery and mediocre for $ 6.50!!! Overpriced, like most everything else on the menu. The three of us decided to split a large pizza with half and half toppings, and with that, the garlic bread and two cokes, it was $ 35. Which, look, I don’t mind paying a little more when the food is worth it, but it wasn’t. The pizza itself was very average. The ingredients seemed cheap, lacking in quality. Generic and lacking in flavor. I would’ve done better to stop at Publix on the way home and grab a $ 10 frozen pizza. I really wanted to like this place. I would’ve given one star but we did have attentive service. So there’s that. I mean, I can see myself having fun with some friends and a few beers on the outside patio while some live music fills up our ears on a nice evening, but with so many other great pizza choices with outdoor patios in Atlanta, there’s no real need for me to go back for the food.

The servers are the most miserable group I’ve ever experienced! We sat at the bar for dinner, and for no less than two hours did we hear constant complaining, swearing, trash talking about guests, and one girl near tears. It made things very awkward for the patrons at the bar! Food is fine, atmosphere is great! Please figure out and fix whatever is making your female servers so miserable! The male host and older gentleman were both incredibly pleasant and hard working!

Based on the reviews we were a little worried but needed a dog friendly place to spend a Saturday afternoon on a holiday weekend. We called ahead of time to make sure they were open and still allowed dogs on the patio. I spoke with Victoria who assured me that they were indeed open and welcomed dogs. Parking was an issue in this part of town but we parked at my daughters gym down the street and walked up. We were greeted promptly and in a friendly manner and told we could grab a seat wherever we were comfortable. Our server turned out to be the same Victoria I talked with on the phone and she was stellar. Knowledgable about the beer menu and willing to provide tastes of those I hadn’t tried. We started with the antipasto platter and it was fresh and delicious. Hubby and I had planned on ordering lunch but just hung out, drank beer and noshed on appetizers instead. The pretzels with stone ground mustard were amazing. So, contrary to other reviews — STELLAR service, decent draft beer selection and really good food. We will absolutely be back.

I love this place, personally I think the staff is great, fun crowd and always friendly. I’m a little more of a local here though so a little bias. Pizza and wings are typically great, just like any place something these is an off day but 90% of the time I can count on them for a good pizza, wings and beer fix. Great atmosphere for HH or day drinking on a nice weekend, definitely give them a shot!

I met a friend here this past week and I’m disappointed, but not surprised. The reviews are correct about service being beyond slow. That night it seemed like only one server was working the entire floor. It took about 10 minutes for our server to stop by and ask for drinks. It took another 5+ minutes to deliver a water and a root beer. It took a total of 25 minutes for food to be served. All the food was served at once. Garlic Bread — Fresh toasted bread, topped with garlic & oregano seasoning & melted mozzarella cheese with a side of our savory marinara sauce. ^^^ — Since it was served cold, I can’t truly report to the authenticity of it. Even the marinara sauce was cold. To add insult to injury, there isn’t much bread served in this dish. It’s like a single slice of bread was cut in to smaller chunks and then spread around a plate, Definitely not worth $ 6.50. The Cubano w/side salad — Honey ham, seasoned pork & melted Swiss cheese brushed with mustard & topped with pickles. ^^^ — It was lukewarm at most, but the flavor was there. The bread and pickles both had a nice crunch. I can only imagine how good it would have been if it was served hot. The side salad was a decent size, but nothing special. The lettuce was wilted a little bit and there wasn’t enough dressing. To make matters worse about a dozen small boys were running around. Not kidding, literally running around. They were running outside on the patio, jumping in picnic tables, climbing on the fence and climbing the outer brick wall. It was madness. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience.
