The staff was very nice, but there were only two employees working, so service was slow and they had run out of chicken. Food was decent, the chips are awful.

I love this location! They have been here for what seems like forever. The food is always great! The only issue is the staff’s attitude is always iffy and they seem like they would rather be somewhere else and are slightly rude with how curt they can be. I interact with you for maybe a total of 5 minutes… can you at least FAKE a smile? :L

Generally love this place but this particular location sucks, the staff obviously hates their jobs. Today I stopped in at 11:30am, door clearly says they open at 11am but the door was locked. Took my business to Moe’s up the street and don’t think I will be back.

It’s been a while since I have eaten at a Barberitos. This location is near a long list of food options, but is not as bustling as the others. I decided to give Barberitos a chance and it was average at best. There was only one other patron dining-in at 1:30pm on a Wednesday. I was greeted as I entered the spacious restaurant, which was nice. The menu is posted on the wall, and is very similar to the Chipotles/Moe’s around town. I opted for a spicy chicken burrito bowl which cost roughly $ 6.50 without tax. Guac and sour cream were extra as is common. They had the other regular options: lettuce, cucumber, rice, beans, cheese, jalapeños(fresh and pickled), etc. The bowl itself is underwhelming, with a clear box that makes it seem like it is only half-filled. I also chose one of approximately six dressings, opting for a chipotle vinegarette. The best part was the chips; I have to say this place has the perfect tortilla chips! Overall, this place is ok for food, but nothing to write home about.

Paper thin chips, paper thin napkins, big fat price. Dirty, too. First visit. Probably won’t return.

Sticky floors and sticky doors do not appeal to me. The tables and beverage counters were dirty also. I saw a guy walking around and spraying blue stuff on the counters. He paid very little attention to what he was doing. It was lunch time. They were kind of busy. Chipolte is a block away and had a line out the door. I wanted to avoid the line. Food was below average. Rather bland even for Tex Mex. I doubt if i will be back. I was there a year ago and it was decent. Not any more.

I normally love Barberitos, but this specific location needs some work. The salsa tasted off and the food was just blah. Not way fresher or way better, for sure. I’ll stick to my Athens locations. Oh, tell your employees to wear jeans or khakis. Brightly colored yoga pants look ridiculous.

One of my favorites for lunch, one of the worst for dinner. The lunch staff is fast, friendly, and the food is great. I could eat lunch here every day. Conversely, the place is empty for dinner, and the staff has bad attitudes. They run out of the basics — meat, cheese, salsa, rice — pretty early. They’ll give you a burrito with the hard, bottom of the pot rice that makes it inedible, and not even warn you. And they’ll close at 8:30 or 8:45 on a whim.

I’ve been to Barberitos a couple times, but this most recent visit made me sure I won’t go back. I just wanted chicken nachos, but it wasn’t easy. The woman taking my order was on her phone, and I had to prompt her to get anything like tomatoes on it– she just shoved it across with chicken and cheese. When I asked her if she could put the pico de gallo on, she asked me if she needed to put on gloves. Ew.

This has been one of the worst experiences at a Barberitos I have had ever. Normally, I would be excited to go Barberitos but this location is terrible. The associates have no sense of customer service. Their food was lack luster and did not seem up to par with Barberitos around the Athens locations. I would like to see new associates that do not complain about their job and are hygienic. Also, those who stand their post instead of hanging around the dining area. I would also like to see some new food upkeep to the proper standards. Don’t get me wrong. I love Barbs but this place has nothing on the Athens area ones.

Normally I love this place but I am sorry I have to write a poor review. When we walked in, the girl in sweatpants was sitting on the food counter with her feet up! Wow, owner/manager you have a camera pointing right at it. 12⁄23 at 7:15. The restaurant was pretty gross. No tables were clean and the rice was so crunchy it about broke my teeth. These two girls have just been on their phones the whole time and have not cleaned a thing.

Usually good experience but went today and it was $ 20 for two people which is fine but my entire order tasted like soap as if they didn’t wash utensils very well. Needless to say I couldn’t eat it and after standing in line for 30 minutes it was not worth it to wait again. Very disappointed and will just stick with moes or willys. Glad they are clean but I don’t want to feel like I’m getting my mouth rinsed out!

I don’t normally eat Mexican — not that I don’t like Mexican, I just usually prefer other types of cuisines. I’ve eaten at least once at most of the well-known places around town, but since the old Tortilla’s on Ponce closed, not so much. I did not know Barberitos even existed before I purchased a Half Off Depot coupon — I have never seen an ad for this place. So I went in yesterday with no expectations. The food was good. Because of the coupon, I was able to order 3 different items(chicken burrito, steak quesadilla and spicy chicken taco) so I could get a broader sampling of their offerings. Each item is quite a mouthful. And I was equally impressed that for each item, I could add toppings(including meats) from a multitude of possibilities — veggies, salsas, etc. — and all fresh. I like that. I may be wrong, but it seems that they have more toppings available than a couple of similar places I’ve tried over the years(it’s been a while). The only negative thing I can say is that pork was not one of the meat choices. It was an enormous amount of food(including tortilla chips that were a cut above what you normally get at Mexican places around town), but it came in at only $ 19.22(including my drink), and would have easily fed 3 people. In my book, that qualifies as a bargain. But, the food, although it was good, wasn’t the best part of my experience. Before I arrived at the restaurant, I had been doing some shopping at several stores in the area. It was late afternoon on a VERY hot day. Making it even worse was having to get into my BOILINGHOT car, and the AC not having sufficient time to cool off the interior before arriving at my next stop. So when I walked into Barberitos I was feeling a bit overheated — needed to cool off before I could feel human again. There were 2 employees present(I found out later their names were Nick and Alisha). Nick immediately asked me if I was OK. The fact that he noticed I wasn’t exactly feeling 100%, and then asked me how I was feeling, impresses me. And Alisha was the epitome of good customer service. Once I cooled off(their AC worked just fine), I started to order. Realizing that I was a first-timer, she patiently walked me through the process, even making suggestions, the whole time with a positive, cheery attitude despite the fact that it took a while due to my dumb questions and my head still not fully recovered from the heat. Over the years I have conducted hundreds of trainings, including on customer service, so I really appreciate it when I have such a positive experience. Alisha and Nick are to be commended for the high level of customer service I experienced — the polar opposite of experiences that I have had elsewhere.(See one of my recent negative reviews and I think you’ll understand what I mean.) I hope the owner reads this. If he does — Where’s the advertising? You have a good product — let folks know about it. If I’m in the area and have a taste for Mexican, I will definitely return.

I decided to give this location another chance but I was as disappointed as my previous experience. We walked into the restaurant and there was a haze of smoke in the restaurant. It appeared the vent above the grill wasn’t working properly. We ordered and the employee burned my grilled onions and peppers on my fajita salad. My daughter wanted a side of rice and beans but he forgot to give it to us. When I tried to get my missing order the employee was no where to be found. Another customer walked in and we waited for an additional 10 minutes yelling«hello?» He finally came up front saying he was the only employee. Horrible service, food and overall experience. I like the brand but will just patron the Buckhead store.

Every Monday burritos are ½ off. Love this spot every Monday! I like these burritos better than Moes, Willies, and Chipolte.

This place is Moe’s with more letters, and that’s okay. My burrito was tasty, it came with chips and salsa, the sweet tea was good and it came in pretty cheap. In fact, I think that was the day of the week they do burritos for $ 4 or something, so it was really a great deal. Nothing wrong with Barberitos.

No wonder I couldn’t find this on Unilocal,I was misspelling the name wrong. DUH! If you read my reviews, you know that I always grab a bite to eat before grocery shopping, and last Friday was no different. This time, we wanted Mexican-type food, but we didn’t want the standard ingredients — meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, peppers, onions, etc, covered in different sauces — enchilada sauce, adobo sauce, verde sauce, cheese, etc… We found ourselves at Barberitos. There’s a Chipotle across the street and a Moe’s less than a mile away, but we’ve never tried this place, AND it was on the right side of road and we were too lazy to turn. It’s a win-win. The set-up is strikingly similar to Moe’s. Like, almost identical. I’m not sure which company came first, but if there was no signage, these places would be the exact same. In this case, it’s good, because I know the drill — they make my food, pay at the counter and sit. I order the Skinny Chicken Burrito. It had a much fancier name than that, but I forgot. It starts with a spinach tortilla(probably just a normal tortilla dyed green to fool people like me), black beans, grilled chicken, lettuce, pico, cilantro, olives and tomatoes. It didn’t seem like a lot of food until the guy rolled it up. It looked huge! It looked like a… Joey Bag of Donuts? For two burritos, one chicken, one steak and chicken, and two drinks — ~$ 15. Come again? Yes, ~$ 15. Definitely cheaper than Moe’s and Chipotle. Our burritos came in the standard plastic serving basket with branded wax paper and tortillas. There’s a little condiment area where you can get different salsas for your tortilla chips and they 5 different options to choose from. They weren’t labeled, so I just randomly picked one and went with it. They, too, have the ever popular Coke Freestyle Machine. The food was good. Not exceptional and not horrible. Pretty standard. I couldn’t eat all of my burrito and I gave up trying to finish my tortilla chips. Overall, we really enjoyed it — it’s good food and cheaper than other places. We’ll probably opt to stop by here more often to save some money.

We liked it. It’s very similar to Moe’s but with more menu options. Had the spicy chicken burrito in the chipotle tortilla. Good cheese dip & I liked their regular salsa(didn’t try the hot one). Good chips, too. Light, crispy & salted just right. And we had a voucher which made it even sweeter. Staff was nice & efficient. We’ll return.

It is clean and the servers are nice, but the food is tasteless. I’m not sure what kind of cheese they use, but it sucks. This is a great place for people who hate spice and tasty food.

Another burrito place. There really isn’t too much different(to me) between this place and Chipotle menu-wise. But, I don’t have very high demands of a burrito… chicken, beans, rice, etc… nothing fancy. That said, when I went by last week, it looked like they had just gotten over their lunch rush, as they were scrapping the pans to be able to get enough for my burrito and they told the people behind me it would be another 10 minutes on rice, that they had run out. Looks like they were out of just about everything. At least one guy(perhaps the manager?) admonished another guy in front of all the customers for not having the where-with-all to keep the ingredients ready. That said, the food did did taste pretty good. Oh well, Chipotle is basically just across the intersection and I’ve never seen them run out of rice.

if you’ve been to moe’s, chipotles, willy’s, etc, then you know the game here. walk in, pick your item, pick your tortilla, pick what goes in it, etc. i think this place originated out of athens — which, if you haven’t gone to, you should cuz they have killer deals on margaritas there to wash down your burrito. the distinction i like about barb’s are the nachos. most places you go, you get a some chips smothered in queso. at barb’s, they make your nachos, cover it in cheese, and bake it! it’s awesome. that’s my tip for dining here. eat the nachos.

Stopped in today to see what this place is all about and I probably wont go back. The place was fairly empty and it still took me 10 minutes to check out. The guy behind the counter told me they had corn tacos but after he served me four tacos we both learned they only have flour tacos. Then I was fascinated by the food under the lids on the line, and I told the server I wanted to try the tofu. He then picked up a piece of tofu out of the pan and handed it to me over the counter. Is that really how the customers are given samples? Ok, so after that I got to chat with the cashier who was busy propping up the register by leaning on it with her head in her hands. My grand total for 3 tacos a drink 2 cookies and chips and queso was $ 14. The tacos weren’t bad, but they weren’t good either. The queso was a bit bland and didn’t have any seasoning or spice to it. The tofu was the best thing I ate in the meal, but the cookies were the best part of the overall experience. The service was lacking, the food was bland and the price was a bit high. I’d give it a 2.5 if possible, but it wasn’t «A-OK» enough for 3 stars.
