Went in for my son’s first haircut. There was no waiting, so I was assisted immediately. My son did so well for his first haircut because the hairdresser did a great job! She clearly asked and confirmed the hairstyle I wanted before and as she was giving the haircut to ensure that it is just the way I’d liked it to be. It was a quick and well experienced service. I also got a discount because it’s my son’s first haircut. Also got a lock of his first cut as a keepsake I’d definitely come back for his next cut. Thank you Kid’s Hair!

The only reason I’m giving it two stars is because they take appointments, which is really convenient. But, if you have even 15 extra minutes, drive to Maple Grove to SnipIts. I wish I would have. My two year old son liked the movie that was playing, but the stylist did a terrible job. And who has time for her to fix it?! It looks like I did the cut myself, and it’s basically a bowl shape on his head. For $ 16.50, I expected a decent haircut, but this was just a little scissors cut. I’d never, ever, ever, ever go back for a little boy’s haircut — where every snip makes a difference!

We just brought our daughter in for her first haircut. She’s a very restless 16 month old toddler, so we wondered if this would work. This Kids’ Hair location has a small area of books, toys, and a chalkboard as you walk in. After a brief wait, we were led to Brigid’s chair. Our daughter entered full meltdown mode, but Brigid wasn’t phased in the least. She found some toys and worked her magic. About 5 minutes later, our daughter’s hair looked great and we were done. We used the first-haircut coupon to knock off a couple bucks. It was a great experience for all of us — we’ll be back.

This was a better experience for us in comparison to their maple grove location. The staff seems busier which results in better cuts. We had an appointment but still managed to wait for about 15 minutes– not a big deal. I told my stylist what we wanted done for our 14 months old, and she almost did exactly that; with the exception of one thing– she had the back shorter than we wanted. It will grow fast I’m sure, I just wish we had kept it a bit more on the longer side. I’m happy with the cut and will return to this location in the future.

Having reread my initial review I realize that KidsHair has improved dramatically since taking my son for his first haircut. We have had countless fantastic haircuts since, for bot my son and my daughter at the hands of the KidsHair stylists. I have to say that I am for sure a fan; having tried countless other places since that apparently cannot understand that little boys like cute haircuts, too. Seriously, do I need to amend every haircut with«he doesn’t want a Spock haircut, please» only to receive the dreaded Spock haircut. Every stylist I’ve had at KidsHair understands exactly what I’m asking for, and has been able to deliver to my happiness and to the satisfaction of my ever-picky son. Recently, to my horror, my husband took my son’s hair under his own, er, razor. I’ll be making a trip to KidsHair to fix the scraggles before school starts, and know they’ll do a great job.

Place is awesome. There are televisions for each hair cutting station as well as one in the lobby for kids to watch. They have a small play area that kids can be entertained while waiting. They always seem pretty busy, but man do they crank out the haircuts. The haircuts are pretty good too. They are not half-fast and that means a lot to me. Never once had a bad haircut out of at least five visits.

Took the 3-year-old here for her first haircut ever. She was going to be a flower girl and I thought it was time to get her hair cleaned up. We did a very simple trim and fixed her bangs as well. The stylist(?) was very good and fast, daughter hardly even noticed her working. Of course, she was distracted by the tv. As a treat, when the cut was done, daughter got to choose the spray color they put in her hair(she chose purple) and they also did a glitter spray on top. She loved it! Coffee for us was nice and daughter got a sucker when it was all done.

Been there 2 times with our 2 year old. They were fast and friendly, did a good job. TV’s in front of every chair helped to keep my son hypnotized. Toys to play with while you wait. Airpots full of Caribou Coffee is a nice touch.(When’s the lever espresso machine going to show up?) Had to wait 10 minutes the first time even though we had an appointment. Had my(then) 4 month old with so I’d have just as soon gotten out as quick as possible-hence the 4 stars(I know, waaawaaawaa.) Points off for the name. Pretty bland. I’m guessing a «working title» that never got updated?

I reviewed this place two years ago because it was the one place I could find where I could take my haircut-phobic four-year-old to get a haircut. We’re way past the fear of haircuts now, but this is still the only place we go for haircuts for the little guy. Tons of toys for the kids to play with, movies at every station, and a very friendly and attentive staff. It’s pretty much always a good experience all around. The only minor downside is that it’s often pretty busy, but when you provide good service, that’s to be expected.

Love it! My daughter loves it, too. It’s best to make an appointment — you can do a walk-in appointment, but you’re probably going to wait a while. Sometimes this place is packed! The salon is brightly decorated and there are TVs all over(which can be overwhelming). The stylist always gives my daughter a toy to hang on to while she gets her hair cut. The stylists are fast and do a good job. We’ve had different stylists each time, and haven’t had any problems. The stylists even manage to add a little braid in her hair, which she never lets me do! If you have to wait before the appointment, there is a little play area for the kids and coffee for the parents. There are some neat services they do — funky hair, for example, and chlorine treatment for the swimmers. For the little ones who can’t sit still yet, this place is great.

This place is GENIUS. Long gone are the days when I went with my dad to the barber shop in Apache Plaza and had to sit quietly while I get my haircut in the barber chair next to my dad. He was already losing his hair, so he would always finish before me. Those were the days where kids’ attention spans could last two minutes rather than two seconds. Today’s second generation of MTV kids can’t sit still unless you put a screen in front of them. And that’s exactly what Kids’ Hair did. In front of every seat was a 9″ TV and a choice of a kids show to watch while they get their haircut. It doesn’t always work, though. While we were there, one kid was so scared, he was in his dad’s lap and was still trying to squirm away from the scissors. The stylist looked like she was dealing with it well. These guys have kids figured out with the bright colors, TVs, and lollipop trees everywhere. But they also have parents figured out. They offer free coffee to parents while they wait. Too bad I don’t drink coffee. The only reason they lost a star was for price. $ 15.50 is pretty steep for a kid’s haircut. I haven’t been in a Great Clips for a few years, but that’s more than I paid for cuts before I went super short. They also have line items on their price board for colored hair, special braiding, and a $ 5 bang trim. Now why don’t regular haircut places offer a trim price? Good idea. The most innovative line item, though, showed how well they new kids. Gum removal: $ 5. Genius.
