A little hole in the wall with a $ 3.99 special broccoli chicken or hot chicken over rice. Combo plates around $ 5 – 7. Definitely worth a try. Fresher than your supermarket deli and better than Panda Express because everything is made fresh. Great spot. I worked at a Chinese restaurant for years and although it’s not authentic like you would find on Stockton Blvd it is definitely tasty.

Service was a bit slow but the food was pretty good! Love the prices– cheaper than other places without losing the flavor!

This place is now my «go to» spot for some tasty Chinese food! Had me the veggie chow Main and it was delicious. My kids loved it too, not a single veggie left over! Thumbs up

This is a very small little restaurant next to the convenient store, not a place most would think about stopping but since we lived close we decided to try it. We ordered the dinner for four, House chow mein, Pork fried rice, beef broccoli, orange chicken and spring rolls with fried wonton The staff was very friendly, We picked up the food and brought it home… Everything was piping hot and smell delicious. There was more than enough food for four people and everything was delicious. There were enough delicious leftovers for my wife and I to have lunch the day. I would recommend this place over many higher priced restaurants in the area.

Consistently better than average. Small dive spot so don’t be pretentious. Budget friendly. Won Ton soup broth delicious. Big fan of the Kung Pao Vegetables with Fried Tofu and the Vegetable Egg Foo Yung. Love to support small business.

We went back one more time. It was so different, it was as if we were trying a completely different place! Whereas before, we’d been cheerfully and enthusiastically greeted, «service» was either curt or inattentive. And get this crazy policy: we had called in our order & waited the required 30 minutes to show up, and when we got there, the meal wasn’t ready. ‘You’re next,’ they told me. ‘It’s been half an hour,’ sez I(wink). ‘But WEDON’T STARTCOOKINGITUNTILYOUGETHERE’(my emphasis added). ‘Why not?’ I wonder aloud. Get this, you’re gonna love it: ‘We’re never sure whether people will actually show up.’ After nearly choking on swallowing my shriek of frustration, I asked when the meal WOULD be ready. ’30 minutes’ was the answer. I should have told them to forget it and walked out — but we were craving Chinese and it had been good enough before, so I waited. Finally I said to the guy(the one with all those previous answers), ‘You know, this policy of yours wastes your customers’ time and could make some people really angry. I’d think you’d lose a lot of customers that way.’ He shrugged and said, ‘There will be more where those came from.‘ I see you rolling your eyes… I know, right? So I pay, take it home, we dig in in anticipation… now, when my husband is hungry and craving a food, nobody’d better get between him and the food, know what I mean? After wolfing down a few forksful of everything, he throws down his fork and says, «This %@(&!^$ food tastes like $#!+ !» After trying to eat a meal’s worth(and portions got skimpier, too) and some expletive-laden conversation, then conceding maybe it was a different chef, we decided it was just too gaggy and we wouldn’t go there again. Shame, too… it’s just an easy walk away… :(

Value! You will get better than average Cantonese style food. They have a small low-budget selection for $ 3.99, which is more than enough food for a lunch or dinner. If you like combo plates, they are large for low price. We always get plenty of food for 4 for under $ 30. They will deliver also. It is tiny place with bland décor so we always order to-go.

The House Chow Mein had a pretty bad burnt taste, and the two chicken dishes we ordered were mediocre at best. Maybe it was because we ordered late, and they were about to close… Nevertheless, I won’t be ordering from here again.

We just tried Golden City for the first time tonight. Immediately we noticed the excellent customer service. There was no long hold time. He took my phone number and called me back when he didn’t have customers. He then called me back when the food was finished(he said it would be an hour, but it was about 20 minutes). The food was dine in hot when it got here and it was delicious. There were huge portions for 2 people. It was a little on the greasy side and had a little too much ginger for my liking, but I’m extremely picky. My boyfriend raved about all of the food. We gave it a 5 because the combination of great food and awesome service made this place top notch and we will definitely be ordering again.

I ordered delivery and was not expecting much, I was immobilized and my favorite place doesn’t deliver. Well I was blown away. The only item that didn’t drive me wild was the potstickers, but I’m real picky. Everything was AWESOME. The house rice was not just ordinary, it had an incredible flavor profile and was bursting with bits and pieces of everything. Shrimp — great. Beef — great. Veggies — great. Delivery is expensive but it was worth it. I will be picking it up in the future!

Just an update to say Golden City is as good as ever! Quick, friendly, and very tasty, everything I need on a busy weeknight when we’re craving Chinese food. Tonight, we ordered the MooShu Chicken(it’s a standard that everyone loves), Szechuan Beef, Beef Chow Mein, and Pineapple Pork Shrimp Fried Rice. Everything was delicious as usual and with generous portions. The fried rice was wonderful. I love that Golden City doesn’t skimp on ingredients, there were plenty of shrimp, pineapple and pork in the rice, and we all loved it. I only tried a bite of my husband’s szechuan beef(I was too full from the rice and the mooshu), but it was very tasty, although it could have been spicier. They did give us extra chili sauce, though, so it was an easy remedy to spice it up. The MooShu Chicken was delicious as always. I always order this in addition to whatever else we get, because it’s consistently good, and all of us enjoy it. It was full of tender chicken, and lots of vegetables The Beef Chow Mein had great flavor, and plenty of beef(as I said, they are definitely not skimpy), but I wish it would have had more vegetables in it, but that’s because I love vegetables and always would like more of them, lol. Golden City is still rocking it out, and we’ll be back for more!

Not happy with this place anymore. Every time I try to get food delivered now they say they are short drivers. Really? For 6 months? Not cool!

Ordered my food on line, which was great. Was told it would be about 15 minutes and it was. Walked in the door as they were boxing it up. The portions were huge and the food was very tasty. I was able to have lunch the next day with what was left over. The General Chicken is pretty tasty as is the Sweet & sour Shrimp. Definitely will be going back!

Ive had this place delivered twice now, and the first time was great! The food portions are awesome IF you get them singly or in the family meal. If you get the combo plates beware of the gobs of veggies disguised as your entrée’ lol. Not happy about the amount of entrée we did get but thats the only bad thing i can say. Food is yummy and the price is extremely competitive! Low low low.

I’ve been now to every Chinese place in Roseville. And I’ve come to Golden City more then most. But, I must say that Golden City has the best service and best fresh veggies in Roseville and the greater Sacramento area. Hands down, five star, no remorse for all the others that have dry rice and long stringy strangely cut meat. Not to mention the delivery service was sooo fast. About 30 – 45 min from the time I thought about Chinese to the time I was full and crying because there wasn’t more. :D

I came across this true hole in the wall place on Unilocal, and like alot of chinese places it had mixed reviews. So i decided to try it. So the first time I came in I ordered 3 combo lunch specials 1 with kung pao chicken, 1 with sesame chicken, and 1 with honey shrimp that came with cashews instead of candied walnuts(kind of weird) but really good. And they come with either chow mein or fried rice which neither have meat in them, but the chow mein is good, the kung poa and seasame chicken was good and the rice is ok. So the second time about a week later I ordered 3 more specials 1 sesame chicken, 1 general chicken, and 1 peking pork, the sesame chicken was good again the general chicken was’nt that good and the peking pork was nasty and it got thrown out. So all in all I probably would’nt recommend this place or come back when there’s so many other options around citrus heghts and roseville, with two right down the street from this place that I can think of.

We had food delivered tonight by Golden City. When I called to order, the guy taking our order was nice enough. However, when I asked for beef and asparagus, he laughed at me and said, «No, asparagus is out of season.» Reallllly? I could’ve sworn I saw some at Safeway the other day! Haha Anyway, whatever. I’m sure it’s just too expensive for them this time of the year. Here is what we ended up ordering, and how I’d rate it on a scale from 1 – 10: Hot and sour soup — 8⁄10. It was good, but if you don’t like red pepper & extremely spicy stuff, stay away! It was way too«hot» for our son to eat. Although, I’d probably order it again, especially if I had a cold & needed to clear up my sinuses. ;) Pork fried rice – 8⁄10. It was really good, except maybe a bit greasy. Beef and broccoli – 7⁄10. Too bland for our tastes, and the broccoli could have been cooked a touch longer. Not horrible, though. Chicken and mushrooms – 9⁄10. This was really tasty, and the button mushrooms were yummage! Mu shu pork – 10⁄10. SO good! The plum sauce, pork mu shu itself, and pancakes were delicious! I’d definitely order this again. Overall, on the whole I’d rate this place 8⁄10. The portions were huge, the price was right($ 35 before tip for all of that food), and the delivery was as promised(an hour). Some of the food is tastier than others, but none of it was«bad». Also, we have a bunch of leftovers. Love that! I would recommend Golden City Chinese.
