Unfortunately, the pasties are mediocre at best. I can’t say anything about the Polish offerings Calumet has, however. Yes, they look like legit pasties from old times, but they also require gravy or ketchup to finish them off. They are simply too dry starting with the crust to the inside. Maybe some people like loading the condiments on, but The Pasty Guy has rules and won’t affect the overall taste of the pasty with the use of an additive like ketchup.

Awesome Polish food, family owned. Very reasonable prices and they are very kind. The pasties are huge and the dill pickle soup was great. Doesn’t get better than that! Don’t miss this hidden gem.

Meh. really wanted this place to be good as it’s right at the end of my street. but potato pancakes were wayy too soggy and bland(had to use ALL the sour cream & applesauce to get them down. probably main reason I gave the 2 stars. the applesauce was great! Lol) and the perogies were«cooked» same way… actually, barely cooked in my opinion. super soggy.& same opinion as other reviewer on the dill pickle soup, took one sip and was like ohh no! Tasted burnt like and just not good, way too intense. bummer again because I was hoping this would be worth the $ 18 I spent, but definitely not. won’t be back.

Just ordered two dinners. One was completely wrong. As far as the dill pickle soup goes, it was bit overly Smoky. The food was ok. I feel a $ 8.00 dinner should look like one. For $ 8.00 got 2 of the smallest cabbage rolls ever. Seemed very over cooked. So all I can say is over cooked and over priced. I was very excited about this place

IWhat can I say ?, If you are of Cornish ancestry like I am, this was a really special family treat. They were my favorite, must have birthday meal! Calumet“s pasties look just like my grandma made, they are delicious, not my grandma’d, but a close second. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a great taste treat in a hearty dinner fare. My congratulations on 30 years of good work David I hope you figure out how I can get them when I move to California. Take care buddy, I’ll miss you and your good work thanks John Berryman

My first time here and what a delight! Excellent home made food. We had the kielbasa platter so we could sample everything. The cherry fudge pasties for dessert was fun. Chef/service staff was helpful and attentive. We took a dozen jalapeño pierogis home with us.

A college friend and I were looking for something different for a Saturday night dinner, and came across Calumet Pasty Co. through Unilocal. The name seemed to jump off the page at us, and we hopped in the car and headed over. We both tried the meat pastys and they did not disappoint. In fact, I don’t think I’ve had a better one, despite going to college in the Upper Peninsula. Terrific crust, and the inside was pure Yooper bliss. The owner was quite nice, stayed open late for us, and had great stories about his family ties to Calumet. He also spoke of his families’ catering business. It’s clear he has a true passion for food. More of a takeout place, although we ate there and there were a few tables. Give him a try — check hours of operation(he was due to close at 7pm when we were walking in a few minutes before 7).

This place is amazing! If you want fresh authentic Polish food you have to try Calumet. I had an order of 6 Pierogi, which you can mix and match, and a potato pancake. I had the Garlic Potato Bacon and the Potato Cheddar Pierogis which were DELICIOUS! I also snuck a bite of a Jalapeño Cheddar Pierogi and it was just as tasty. The Potato Pancake was perfect, thick and full of flavor. All of the food was cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and not greasy which is super hard to find when ordering Pierogi out. We finished with the Carmel Apple Pasty for dessert and it was to DIE for. Not too sweet, perfect! The owner is super friendly and you can tell he really pours his heart into his cooking. All of this for under $ 9, you cant beat it!

We’ve passed by this place too many times to count going to Mario’s Meats and have always wanted to stop in. Today, we saw some pasties at the Kroger meat counter and decided tonight was the night we go in. I’m disappointed we haven’t gone to Calumet Pasty Company sooner. In addition to having some great authentic pasties, we also had THEBEST potato pancakes we’ve ever had(better than Polish VIllage in Hamtramck). The menu is loaded with other polish favorites include pierogi, city chicken, and dill pickle soup. The owner was extremely friendly and chatted with us while we ate. If you want some great, fresh, homemade food, you’re got to stop into this diamond in the rough.

Great home style Pasty! Love this place, will go back often. Not in the mood for a Pasty?, all good the Dill Pickle Soup is out of this world. But wait! They have great Polish favorites. Perigees, and Stuffed Cabbage. All the food is fresh homemade and out of this world. Great Northern Michigan food right here in Roseville MI.

If you’re going to tease me by stuffing pierogi with bacon and garlic then at least care enough to boil them prior to selling them. The following day I planed on making them and they all molded together into a giant ball of dough or ripped when I tried to separate them. I was disappointed, however the one’s a salvaged were incredible!

Best Polish around this side of Hamtown! Help is always friendly, and food is fresh, hot, and made to order. Pasty’s are great, Polish kielbasa w/sauerkraut and horseradish is awesome, and be sure to try the cherry dessert pierogi!

This past summer, I took a little adventure up to the UP to try some pastys(pasties?). A few weeks ago, I was told of this little place right down the road from me where I could get an authentic UP Pasty. So of course I had to try it out. They did not disappoint. The pasty I had there was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was full of flavor, and while it filled me up halfway through I forced myself to eat the rest of it. This place is going to become a place I go to at least once a week. They also have a small menu featuring Polish dishes. And if none of that fits your mood, they also have a menu for their catering company, and you can order anything off of that with enough notice and they’ll make it for you! I look forward to going back and trying more dishes.

Ya eh dats a good pasty dere eh? MMMmm you betcha. Man I haven’t had a pasty this fresh and tasty since I lived amongst da’ yoopers. Filled with meat, potato, carrots and rutabaga(cuz it ain’t a pasty if it don’t have dat dere rutabaga). Only $ 6.95 and it covered a dinner plate, get a side of gravy and man your in yooper heaven. Also on their short menu are Polish dishes such as stuffed cabbage, chops, city chicken and Polish stir fry which is smoked kielbasa onions and potatos. They also have their own fresh kielbasa. YUMMMMY And for dessert apple or cherry filled pierogis. They have a couple of small tables but is more of a takeout place.
