THESOFTPRETZELSAREAWESOME! They are made fresh here, you can watch the Amish ladies make them right in front of you. They are hot, buttery and sooo yummy. They also have homemade ice cream and shakes. The strawberry shake tastes like berries right off the vine, probably because they are. They also have a neat selection of cute homemade crafty items. Definitely something for everyone here. Mostly for tourists, but the locals know to come here for the pretzels if nothing else.

Pretzel was warm, soft, salty and buttery — what’s not to like!!! And the homemade root beer washed it down perfectly! Cute store and many bakery items to select from too! Very nice stop among the Amish farms — beautiful countryside!

Best soft pretzel of my life, and I grew up in Pennsylvania eating soft pretzels. The homemade root beer was good, too. This was a pit stop on the Amish Experience bus tour. Lots of great pickles vegetables, jellies, and baked goods. Worth a stop!

5 stars for the hot pretzels! ! We visit it every time we are in Lancaster. I am not a pretzel person, I never buy them anywhere else but these are soooo good and buttery. The baked goods are so so and they have crafts for sale.

I have been going there for a number of years now. I get out that way once or twice a year and on each visit I will stop in at least 2 – 3 times. It has lost it’s quaintness over the years. It is very commercialized and more of a tourist trap now. I used to buy different baked goods, handmade products, such as quilts, pillows, pot holders, etc. The prices have gotten higher than a lot of other similar places in the area. You can see they cater to the tour buses and figure these people will pay any price for things. I will go other places these days for these type of items. I love Amish made things, but not at their prices. Only reason I still go is because they have probably the best soft pretzels around. I also like their homemade root beer and their ice cream. If it was not for that I would by pass this place all together these days.

I love this place for it’s healthy care products and it seems to carry more handmade crafts and I don’t care for the genetic gifts. But it needs more variety.

Came here on a Saturday morning and really enjoyed ourselves. The root beer and pretzels were delicious. The staff is all very friendly and welcoming. I liked looking at all of the homemade crafts they have for sale but could do without some of the touristy souvenirs that look like something we could buy at Six Flags. We will definitely be back in the future!

Very cute shop located on a beautiful farm. Shop sold wares made locally… lots of crafts, knickknacks, jams & baked goods. Saw the Amish Tour van so this must be one of the local stops for them away from the more touristy areas. The side of the shop has a walk-up window where you can get soft pretzels, lemonade & milkshakes. Pretzels were delicious… not too doughy and not dry! Lemonade was ok; milkshake was yummy! Would definitely recommend as it is a beautiful drive just getting there!

THEBESTSOFTPRETZELEVER. It’s simply perfect, fresh out of the oven with a sweet, salty and buttery taste. I always get several every time I come to Lancaster, it’s $ 1.75 for one and $ 5 for three. I’m a huge pretzel fan and I haven’t found better ones, so I visit Lancaster twice a year(from NYC) for no reason other than the pretzel. There are also root beer, lemonade and ice cream you can try from the store, but my main goal is the pretzel so I only had the lemonade once. The store also sells Amish crafts and quilts, and I always find interesting things to buy. Make here a «must-see» on your visit!

This is probably the strangest review I will ever write. We didn’t eat here but we’d like to in the future. We were pretzel end out and had no room for ice cream. The views through Amish country and the animals are very relaxing. Shopping and public bathrooms are a plus.

While walking through Penn Station, I finally succumbed to the smell of Auntie Anne’s Pretzels. I ordered a pretzel hotdog, not because of flavor and taste, mostly because I figured it could hold me off until the next time I was able to have pretzels from this Countryside Road Stand. I also figured the inclusion of a hotdog would help out with flavor. Biting into Auntie Anne’s pretzels was kind of like biting into a miserable Monday, everything just felt bland, dull, and I’m almost positive the hotdog was made of raccoon and dead mobster boss(which in any other circumstance is awesome). It was sad, just sad. At any other time of my life this snack would have been acceptable, but Countryside Road Stand pretzels have ruined any other pretzel or pretzel related product for me. My head wandered back to that bright beautiful cloudless day. I remember a little Amish boy handing out a sample and I thought«Awww poor little guy. This will probably be bad, but I will help them out and buy a pretzel.» How ignorant and foolish of me. When I tried that sample and felt that wonderful texture and flavor of the salt and the contrasting sweetness of the dough, with its perfectly baked warmth, I had to remind myself it was just a sample. Walking up to the window in childish anticipation, I watched as the ladies inside cranked out pretzel after pretzel with out a moment of hesitation. A pretzel fresh out of the oven here is simply perfect. It was like the sample pretzel, only exponentially better. I don’t know what they’re putting in these things, but maybe its more about what they’re not putting in it: the preservatives they’re not putting in it, the real ingredients that are going into it. The flavor is wholesome, yes it is a flavor, and when you have one, unless you’re a cynical prick that can’t appreciate simple things, you will smile like a small child and want nothing more than another.

This place is in the middle of no where… however the tourist buses seem to know where it is… But like everyone else said the quality of the products speaks for themselves

Absolutely delicious! The best soft pretzels and lemonade me(and my daughter) ever tasted. The pretzels were perfect: soft, hot, fresh, buttery, with just the right amount of salt. Not burnt at all. And the lemonade was amazing: the perfect sweetness, and left such a great taste in my mouth, lol. What a beautiful area, too. It’s a peaceful farm area, away from all the busy touristy places. The next time I go to Amish Country, I will stop here for a snack every day!

This was thee bestest, softest, tastiest, butteriest, and most succulent pretzel I have ever had the pleasure of sinking my teeth into!!! For a moment, I felt as if I was in the Amazon… I looked away for a second and the piranhas that replaced my family left a mere grain of salt on the wrapper — waah! I’ve been ruined for life by this quaint little Amish roadside stand, for these delectable intertwined baked rolls of dough will forever serve as the bar that I use to measure a great pretzel. Oh yeah, make sure you sample the non-carbonated rootbeer(.25 cents per dixie cup — honor system) and the baked goods in the store. I wanted the shoofly pie, but it was a tad oversize to stuff into a backpack, so I opted for the mini whoopie pies — pumpkin & chocolate! Mmm. Pretzels were $ 1.79 for one or three for $ 5, a no brainer — buy NINE, you won’t regret it. Next to the delish XO frog @ David’s Mai Lai Wah in Philly’s Chinatown, this was hands down the best thing I ate in Pennsylvania. I say, «meh» to Cheesesteaks — you can keep the Whiz!

I know you have read the other reviews, and probably get the point about the Pretzels… but in all honesty it can’t be said enough. These Pretzels are amazing! I find myself craving these pretzels at the strangest moments: Middle of the night Mowing the lawn Climbing Trees Dancing with Wolves While bathing … And of course every time I see a soft pretzel anywhere! I will continue to Believe that these are the best pretzels in the world until proven otherwise… It’s also just a really cool little Amish store that’s off the beaten path, and I must give props to the delicious lemonade as well. If your in PA Dutch country you have to find this place… so you can write your own review about how much you love these pretzels… and how you can’t stop thinking about them.

This is the most delicious, softest pretzel you will ever have in your life. This place is tiny and in the middle of nowhere and unless you read this review you will never find it. But I’m from California, all my reviews are from California, so please just do yourself a favor and trust me. You will be sending me long letters of thanks.

This place won’t be a special find for long. Great roadside stand for primitives, birdhouses, canned goods, quilts and crafty baskets and odds n ends. Best part in my opinion, is the fresh pretzel stand the owners kids run. Located on a pristine farm the treats are the view and the pretzels. They are hand made by the farmers kids and while they are a tad shy, they serve with a smile and make very tasty pretzels and rootbeer. This place will not stay secret for too long it’s that good. Tour buses are starting to find the way as it’s a bit off the beaten path, but so worth it. We went three times in one week. They are closed Sundays but otherwise from 8 – 8. The kids pretzel shop closes a bit earlier I believe. Take the ride and find it. You won’t be dissapointed.
