I’m not from around here. I used Unilocal to find a dry cleaner because I needed some shirts pressed NOW for an occasion I had not prepared for. I tried 4 other local places. This was the last shot. I walked in, the owner said No problem and had me on my way in 15 minutes. He was eager to make a new customer. Very pleased. Also the new phone number is 631−467−2138

Dry Cleaners /Laundering /Tailoring. I have been bummed since the place I used to take my shirts to 10 years ago moved away — they had .99 cents per shirt prices at the time everyone had $ 1.35. Nowadays, the going rate is $ 1.75 and that shit adds up when you burn through as many shirts as I do in any given month. Always on the lookout for a better deal, while simultaneously getting some quality service, is something of a sisyphean task in that you can generally find $ 1.50 prices and get your shirts mauled or worse, shrunk, or you pay higher costs and at least your shirt sleeves do not end at your elbows… What to my wondering eyes should appear as I am motoring past Island Tailoring /Cleaners is a huge sign in the window advertising .99 cent laundered shirts. Holy crap, I made a mental note and showed up the very next morning with an armful of shirts figuring they would toss out the«with $ 15 additional dry cleaning» which is a ploy used at many other places. The guy working there(owner) assured me that the .99 cent cost was legit and with no strings attached. Perfecto– now the litmus test: how would the shirts survive the experience? I’m happy to report that everything looked just swell with no damage. I also noticed that their dry cleaning costs, in general, are stupid cheap. I returned with a men’s winter coat which cost me a big $ 7.50 to dry clean. Pants are on deck for their turn! Summing up: cheapie costs, good service, and items returned in the same condition they were received = a happy Franco. Small parking in front.
