Run! Fast food is actually better because you know what you’re getting and it won’t be as expensive. I got the tequila-lime chicken tacos. I swear that this horrible chicken made Taco Bell ‘s shredded chicken seem like a Bobby Flay specialty. Holy fake Mexicans! The marinade tasted like ketchup!!! I can’t get the taste out of my mouth. What made the whole thing worse is that despite the description of «warm soft white corn tortillas» they were indeed cold. Inside and out… The nasty chicken and the tortillas. I didn’t bother sending them back because I’m pretty sure the guy in the back knows he did not use any kind of heat source on the dish, so why point out that he is lazy because Montezuma only knows what I would get the second time around. Good thing it came with a giant side of shredded iceberg lettuce for no reason! Oh and the service is not only slow, it will give you anxiety to watch their 2 waitresses run around furiously. And don’t bother saying hello, they have no time to respond to kindness! Ok, I hope this helped… I’m going to go have a stomach ache now.

I don’t expect much from airport food but this was bad enough to write about. The queso fundido is a microwaved bowl of shredded cheese that hardens as soon as it cools. Not recommended. You are better off at Taco Bell. Service was mediocre.

Horrid food, out of so much product. Waitress acted like we were an inconvenience. One plate(pork) was fridge-cold. The other plate was fine. How can one screw up tacos? Especially $ 11.00 tacos. Never again.

Let me start by saying that I love this restaurant but not this particular location! Pros: Food is excellent(pretty much the same at any of their locations) The house margarita is always a tasty treat as well. Cons: Service sucks! Not a clean restaurant Staff openly complained and fought over who was to clean what

The worst nachos ever. Actually. .probably one of the worst places in general. The service is super slow and the food kind of disguting. I know it’s at an airport… but I’ve had really good stuff at airports. The nachos hardly had cheese on them… If any… when they came out the first time. I had to send them back to get some cheese actually added to them. The server tried explaining to me that they melt the cheese on… which I understand, but you can still see and taste melted cheese. The salsa tasted like it was out of a can. Disgusting. Do not come here.

Travel a lot, been in a lot of airports. I don’t buy into the school of thought that says you can’t get good food at an airport. But I’ll say that you DEFINITELYCANNOT get good food at this eatery. First off, I travel alone and sit at the bar. The bartenders were dicks. Totally rude to me and their servers. The food is basically a microwave dinner heated up for you, and then thrown in a basket. Not even on a plate!!! A basket!!! This place is pretty awful, unless you’re into diarrhea and being treated terribly. The bartender could tell I was so disgusted with my food he took it off the table without even asking me. Unless your company reimburses your expenses, do yourself a favor, go to the bathroom and eat the urinal cake before you consider this place. The only reason I gave one star is because I couldn’t figure out how to give no stars.

I ordered the shrimp… They were out. I ordered their special Bloody Mary… they were out of the ‘special’ vodka that makes their Bloody Mary’s special. Hummmmph. I got the crab cakes and water. It was fine. The place held great promise. It looked like a real restaurant in the middle of an airport. That was a plus. Everything else was pretty much a bomb… exploding… with no shelter.

Let me begin with — it’s an airport people and I was starving. Love reading reviews on airport restaurants from people expecting more. Of the restaurants I’ve been to in an airport I will have to say this one ranks closer to the top. The margaritas and food are expensive but again I am in an airport… they have me. But the ULTIMATEMARGARITA($ 11+ 1800 Reposado tequila, grand marnier…) is a must. One is ALL you need to make a bad flight/day go away. Can’t remember now but I believe the bartender said three shots of tequila and a shot or two of grand marnier. I had the carnitas tacos($ 10.79 for two) — again I’m in an airport and they have me when I’m starving for more than junk food. I have to say they keep the flavor simple(aka bland) because they are attempting to appeal to the masses but when you add the salsa and cilantro, located on the side of the plate, it wasn’t bad. Again I was hungry… The question, if I came back through and had time to grab a bite would I stop here? Yes, and I would pay the crazy price at a minimum for the margarita.

Like most people noted, come here for the drinks, namely the Ultimate Margarita, but not necessarily the food. I ordered something light to eat, the pulled chicken quesadilla. The chicken has zero seasoning and the quesadilla is oven toasted which is fine for health reasons but pan frying/toasting it would’ve given it the extra flavor it desperately needed. Overall, I’d look elsewhere for food if I’m back in the airport again. Unilocalers don’t lie y’all.

I had the chicken enchiladas and they were average at best. However I wasn’t excepted much since I was in the airport in Detroit. If you want mexican and you are in the A terminal this place is not to bad. I will say they were quick which is really important when you have a flight to catch!

Not good airport food. It is in an isolated part if the airport which is probably why it’s still open. Very pricy. Service is just ok. And quality is average at best. Not fast so I wouldn’t choose if I was in a rush.

I wanted to eat some Mexican food between lay overs and unfortunately stepped into this place. The waitresses were the rudest I have seen so far. One of my buddies was carrying his luggage and one of the waitresses who was waiting behind said to him«move faster». When I asked for vegetarian options, the waitresses said she couldn’t help me. There was not an iota of customer service. The food when it came was really bad and everything I asked was charged extra(extra for salsa). I will never go back to this place and would not recommend it to anyone who would like enjoy their travel.

On the return flight, this place was close to the gates and I was just too tired to find something else. I figured that tequila is pretty hard to screw up since it’s already bottled. I was right about the tequila, wrong about what was done with it. The trick is to sell two drinks to deliver the alcohol that should be in one. I’ve had better Mexican food out of a can or from the freezer case at Safeway. Jose, either close this place or take your brand off it so it does you no further discredit.

I wish I would have read the reviews before making my dining choice. Everything at the restaurant is an added-on cost, including the $ 3.50 chips and salsa that came from the grocery store. The guacamole and sour cream are also extra with your tacos. I got the guacamole and was sadly disappointed. It was brown when it got to the table and tasted like bland green paste. The tacos were overstuffed into tortillas that were to thin to handle it and the meat inside was bland and dry — no matter what meat you got. SKIPTHISPLACEANDGOTOTACOBELL!

This place has food so bad I simply cannot imagine that the owner knows. If so, how could they keep the doors open in good conscience? Being an airport eatery is no excuse for how cruddy, absolutely miserable this food is. DTW is full of great choices, do yourself a favor and skip this one. Or come here for a shot and a beer. One of my 2 stars is because they serve alcohol and have a TV. The other is because they exist. Leave food preparation to the professionals.

Supermarket guacamole, stale tortillas that fall apart when you try to eat your«tacos,» food that comes out so fast you know it came out of a microwave, no prices on the drink menu(ouch!), and authentic Midwestern servers forced to use words like, «hola,» and«cerveza.» All of this adds up to me being embarrassed I actually stopped and«ate» here. Bleh. Oh yeah, and when they say, «rice and beans,» they mean just that. Rice and beans. Mixed together and served in a plastic bowl. Avoid.

Oy. This place was not good. The Taco Bell a few gates down would have had better tasting food. The Good: –Friendly wait staff. Contrary to other reviews, the wait staff for my visit was friendly and efficient. The Bad:(Everything else) –FOOD: I ordered the enchiladas. On the menu it was the«house specialty» so I figured they should be decent. NO. The enchiladas themselves had absolutely no flavor, to attempt to mask this they put a ton of fairly spicy salsa over them to make you think you are tasting something. The key to a good enchilada is melted cheese and enchilada sause, these surprisingly had neither. Just shredded chicken, stuffed into a flour tortilla, topped with salsa. –PRICES: My entrée was 10.99. At that price was expecting a good deal of food. What I got was a styrofoam plate(that you would use at a backyard BBQ) with 2 moderate sized enchiladas and ½ cup each of rice and beans. No chips. Nothing to warrant 10.99(even in an airport). –SMALLMENU: Menu selection here was quite small. I’d say 10 entrees tops. If you are wanting some Mexican style food in DTW, SKIP Jose Cuervo. Go to the Chili’s instead and get some Tex Mex that has some flavor for the same price.

15 minutes. No one on staff spoke, said hello, or brought me any closer to eating food. People have planes to catch. No stars

Overall decent — it’s airport food so it’s not reasonably priced. I ordered the enchiladas and they were 8⁄10. The rice and beans were not bland and I was pleasantly surprised. They serve you black beans with the white crumbly cheese on top, much better than your standard, boring refried beans. I would recommend this place if you aren’t concerned about eating healthy. I don’t want to know how many calories this place set me back!

the only reason this gets two stars and not one is because it’s in an airport and like everyone else, I have very low expectations for airport food. The pluses: veggie friendly, fast services The downside: surely waitstaff who screw up orders, high prices, dirty floors.

For airport food, it taste ok and is reasonably priced and is fast if you want to sit down and not eat McDonalds or Taco Bell that day. I fly through Detroit airport a few times a year. Pretty much everything that you want in airport food. I ate here today and had the chicken enchilada. It came with 2 sides. Don’t go in expecting fabulous Mexican food, but it does the job. You also seat yourself unlike some other airport restaurants where you need to wait potentially eating into your limited time and risk being seated some place that you don’t want to sit. So it gets 3 stars from me in the context of airport food, but definitely not on the scale of a typical restaurant.

I was shocked, shocked I tell you, at how acceptable the food at this airport restaurant was. I went in with the lowest of low expectations, and we ordered the veggie quesadilla appetizer and nachos to split. An extra bonus to this restaurant for having vegetarian friendly nachos and quesadillas, which certainly aren’t universal. The quesadillas were toasty and not soggy, and the nachos had a good topping to chip ratio. The guacamole was good. The food was actually quite tasty, and the portions were good sized. I’d absolutely eat here again. It’s near gate A66.
