Ken Rothacker Acoustic Guitarist

I would highly recommend Ken! He learned songs by The Avett Brothers and Portugal The Man for my wedding ceremony, and performed them with a violinist he frequently plays with. It was perfect. The Rabbi at my wedding went off script and changed the order of our ceremony a bit, which was unexpected to everyone, but Ken was a good sport and figured out how to naturally intertwine the planned songs at the right times. He is so pleasant to work with, went out of his way to virtually meet me over Facetime before the wedding, and arrived on time. If you’re looking to support a talented, independent musician and want unique music for your wedding (he will partner up with any accompanying instrumentalist), Ken is your go-​to guy.

Ken played my wedding ceremony and cocktail reception on Oct. 6. Despite the chilly conditions, Ken’s fingers were limber and his music magical. He was the perfect addition to our ceremony. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for an acoustic guitarist for their event. He’s responsive, helpful and talented.

We hired Ken Rothacker to play guitar at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. We were happy with him from the start. He was really responsive via email and phone calls. He had no problem with several special requests that we asked him to play for the ceremony. He was the easiest person to work with regarding planning my wedding day.

I was disappointed to see that Ken only has one other review on Unilocal!as this website was basically my go-​to to find my wedding vendors and I do not want him to be overlooked by others. I found Ken on
and after listening to his clips on youtube and reading the fantastic reviews on gigmasters we asked him to play the ceremony music and cocktail hour for our wedding. A true professional from the start, Ken’s song list is extensive and he was even able to play requests (1,2,3,4 by the plain white t’s in our case for our recessional song). He even had a microphone available when our officiant did not. Everything went beautifully and his fee was very reasonable — we could not have had live music otherwise and I believe it really helped to create the kind of intimate, laid-​back ceremony that we were aiming for. I would encourage anyone planning an event that would be enhanced by a live musician to book Ken!

Ken played the ceremony music for our wedding. He learned some rather unorthodox music, including, «Perfect Day» by Lou Reed, «Heroes» by David Bowie, «California Stars» by Wilco, «Piazza NY Catcher» by Belle and Sebastian and «Do you realize» by the Flaming Lips.
It was breathtakingly beautiful and everyone loved it. He played this all on an acoustic guitar. He was so easy to work with and he stepped in on short notice when my other guitarist bailed on me.
