Home Instead and their staff are amazing! I needed care for my mother and was nervous about having someone in her home. Home Instead took care of her for almost a year, and loved her, the way me and my siblings would. They were professional and more importantly, compassionate. My mother looked forward to seeing her caregivers each day and felt like she had a friend coming to visit, rather then a «babysitter» as she feared. I can not thank the staff enough for taking the time to learn about my mom and use that information to bring her people that she felt connected to.
Thank you Home Instead, for being there, like part of the family, at a very hard time in our lives. Moms happiness that last year was largely because of the love and care you gave her. THANK YOU!!!

My mom lives in Sebastopol and recently broke her wrist and injured her knee in a bad fall. She’s got osteoporosis and lives alone. I work full time, have young kids, and live more than an hour away from her. She needed A LOT of help for more than a month and a half with bathing, cleaning, cooking, and errands including doctor appointments.
We tried
caregivers. Some of them were lovely, but it was really hard to coordinate from afar, especially related to schedules. Plus I had to keep sending my mom cash to pay them, and she couldn’t remember their hours or different rates, so it was really complicated.
As soon as we signed up with Home Instead, the scheduling, rates, and quality-​of-​caregiver problems all disappeared. My mom really liked some of the caregivers and we would have continued getting help from Home Instead if we needed ongoing regular care.
The only thing they could have done better was give each caregiver the directions to her house. Several times different caregivers were late and/​or stressed when they arrived. But I think that’s more a factor since we weren’t able to commit to one person for a longer time.
Everything in the contract was clear and they followed it to a «t,» no weird charges at all, and my deposit was refunded when I requested it. I’d totally recommend them and will use them again when we need more care!

Home Instead Senior Care has been caring for my grandmother for a few years now. They came out originally and did a home safety assessment free of charge & helped us to get all the safety equipment grandma needed to keep her living in her own home which was all grandma wanted. They had wonderful resources for all the household items we needed as well the best caregivers to assist my grandmother so that she could live out her life in her own home surrounded by all her own things she & grandpa had acquired in their lifetime together. The Home Instead caregivers are so very caring as if she was their own grandmother. They are respectful, dependable, and trustworthy as well as they create a functioning and loving home environment for my grandmother who is 99 this month. Home Instead caregivers keep granny engaged in activities both physical to keep her body strong as well as mental stimulation to keep her mind sharp.
The admin. support staff do regular quality control visits to the home & keep us in the loop with granny’s doctor appointments & how she is doing. They all really do care & greet you on the phone when we call to inquire about anything professionally, but like old family friends. They email us any changes and somehow anticipate a need, before it becomes problematic. They are well worth every dime! I couldn’t recommend a better home care company to care for our beloved grandmother the monarch of our family!
