Large selection, perhaps largest selection I’ve seen in Sonoma County. Comics of all colors not just the average Marvel/DC. Also had some artbooks which were nice to see. Fair selection of manga as well. Had a great selection of comics/books for kids; Disney, kaboom comics, Last Airbender, Archie, etc., and lots of back issues of those available. Great store and I’ll definitely be back.

I initially did not have high hopes for this place, mostly based on location(strip mall in Rohnert Park doesn’t really inspire confidence). After actually visiting the store, I was pleasantly surprised. The pros: –Killer selection of comics(trades, graphics, current singles, and back issues). –Awesome service from everyone I’ve spoken to there(though I’ve only seen two employees: the owner, who’s name escapes me, and Cory, who was incredibly helpful). –Good selection of figures/collectibles and some neat art on the walls. The con: –Don’t expect this to be a gaming store. While they do have some RPG books and gaming accessories, they are first and foremost a comic shop. Not even sure that this is a bad attribute so much as a potential misconception. Overall, fantastic shop. I highly recommend it.

I love this place! HUGE selection of comics and the lady who runs it is so nice and helpful. Everything is incredibly clean and organized and I love all the other knick knacks available as well. This place and Comics FTW are the best, but like I said with their review, I wish this place had some music or something going on in the background. Quiet like a library, made me feel awkward when wanting to talk.

Neat little store. Good number of back issues, but I didn’t find much to choose from(though I did find some Sandmans I was looking for). Tons of trades and I felt very welcomed. Great place.

Came in here a few weeks back, and I must say this place is not too shabby. Sadly there’s not a lot of back issues, but there’s a ton of everything else. As soon as I walked in the place I was hit by that new comics smell. Ahhhh, if only axe made new comics body spray. Plenty of good stuff here. Didn’t take long to find something I wanted. I could have easily spent my comic budget for the day. And I wish I did because my next stop was outer planes and that place is just whack. The proprietor of this store is a lovely lady that is pretty much the opposite of the punk kids that work at outer planes. Very down to earth. You can tell she’s the real thing, she’s a lover of comic books and she sure as hell ain’t faking it. In fact I think I kind of have a mini crush on her, she’s the kind of person that you just want to hug and say«thank you for being you.» I don’t regret making the trip from San Rafael, and I’ll be stopping by next time I’m in the area.

Not closed. Great customer service with a good selection of comics in the past few years. Not too much if you are looking for old comics.

What a wonderful store! I do not know a single thing about comic books. I went here with my dad just to check it out — I left with my very first 2 comic books — now I am hooked! The owner, Kathy, was super nice, very helpful and she knows her comics! I will be back, most likely more often than I should! LOL

My wife and I passed by this shop on our way home from purchasing an arcade cabinet. She just got into comics and this shop caught our eye passing by. Its got a pretty big inventory for being small. Good prices. Tons of recent and back issues. Lots of miscellaneous comic merch besides comics too. We got a Superman ice-cube tray! The owner was also super nice! She seemed to know ever regular customer who came in and chatted with them like life-long friends. *waves* Hi Kathy! Also, this shop is very much OPEN and AWESOME! I will be driving from Berkeley to visit again.

For it’s size and where it’s at, I like this comic shop; the owner is friendly and knowledgeable, the selection of new issues is pretty good, it’s just all around a good store. If I had any complaints, it would be that the back issue selection is not the best compared to some other local shops, and the way the comics are put up on the racks are a little horrid for someone like me who likes nice crisp spines on their comics, but aside from those OCD that are really just more character based on my part than anything else, I’d highly recommend stopping by and fulfilling some of your comic shopping needs here.

I get all my comics here. Kathy is terrific! She really knows her stuff and has made excellent recommendations based on my interests, so, yes, now I’m addicted to even more comics! :) Kathy is also incredibly nice. Every staffer I’ve encountered has also been helpful and friendly. I regularly pick up several titles and Kathy is really forgiving about my lame attempts to get my butt over there. What a sport! I highly recommend the Comic Book Box!

This place has without a doubt some of the nicest staff I’ve ever encountered at a comic book shop. Every time I enter the place I’m always greeted by a hearty, «Live long and prosper!» Alright I’m kidding but seriously everyone is aways super nice. Most importantly you don’t have that intimidating vibe that might prevent a novice like myself from asking a question that may come across silly or uninformed. At the comic book box my wallet usually takes more damage than a well-timed Batarang as I always come home with more books than I originally intended but I’m never disappointed with my decision.

One of the few reasons I do enjoy this county. They have a great selection of comics, graphic novels and even keep some art books from certain artists in stock. Kathy and the employees also enjoy talking with the customers, something I think should be standard but seems to be rare in this county. Stop by, get an addiction to comics and make sure to stop by every Wednesday.

I can’t say enough about how great this store is. Kathy is awesome; always happy to see me and knows a ton about everything. Not to mention that she can get almost anything for you. Comics range from the kiddie comics to some very esoteric titles. There’s also a great selection of graphic novels. She also does a great job of supporting local artists, and also showcases some pretty cool guests every once in awhile. Bottom line, this should be your stop for comics in Sonoma County.

If you like comics, graphic novels, or are simply just a collector of stories, art, or literature then stop on by The Comic Book Box and prepare to be amazed! The Comic Book Box is easily the best comic & games store North of San Francisco. A great time to stop by is on Wednesdays, when all the new books for the week arrive. The owner, Kathy, is a wonderful treasure trove of interesting comic book lore and history. I recommend just stopping by for the great conversation! Come in on selected Saturdays to visit with the current week’s «Starving Artist». Kathy selects local«Starving Artists» and helps to support their art, comics, or stories. Stop on by and sign up for The Comic Book Box«What’s Coming In This Week» email list to learn more. Some of my favorite authors to check out at The Comic Book Box are, Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, Garth Ennis, Frank Miller, Warren Ellis… and many more!

Kathy Bottarini is not only one of sweetest and most fun folks you will ever meet, but she is knows much about many things in the world of art and literature. These are some of the reasons she is such a good comics shop owner. Well, these and the fact that she has a store that is the antithesis of The Android’s Dungeon, perhaps the most famous comic book store that never existed, but most folks are at least vaguely familiar. To start off she has a great location right across the street from Rancho Cotati High School and just down the street from Sonoma State University. Her shop is clean well lite and painted in cool pastel tones of a more feminine nature that women respond to immediately and most men don’t notice much at all. You can take your aunt, mom, sister, or even girlfriend in here and she will feel quite comfortable. She has lots of original art and print on the walls and hosts a starving artist exhibit(and artist, hee hee) most every week. Oh, she also sells all the books used in «the graphics novel class at SSU». Here books are mainly in cases that are easily browsed, but ask her, RJ, or Ted any question and they can probably answer it right away, or help you find the answer. The breadth and depth of selection is huge and if she don’t have it, chances are she can get it, or at the very least point to who can! One of the best things about Kathy and her shop is that it is a fun place to hang out and chat with folks. Her customers come in all shapes; sizes, ages and walks of life and Wednesdays, which is usually when the new books come in, is a great day to stop by and see the folks that are the core of comics. So, if you like, or used to anyway, comics, stop by and I guarantee you will find something to read and if you don’t have much cash, go check out the library she donates tons of books to them so everyone can experience the joy that is comics.
