Summer is a saint! She gave my now 3.5 year old his first haircut, which was about 9 months ago. Since then, we’ve been back a few times for trims and just today, she gave my 9.5 month old his first haircut. Summer is patient, very nice, and great at what she does. She’s also very responsive via text when it comes to scheduling appointments. She gave us locks from both boys’ first cuts along with a card and the date – so sweet! We’ll be back many, many times in the years to come. Thanks, Summer!

The only place my son gets his haircut! Summer did an amazing job. The first haircut was when he was about a year and a half. He cried a lot but she was able to finish and did an amazing job! Then we went back a few months later. Just a little bit of aprehension in the beginning, but Summer was so great with him that he was just fine. The next time he was EXCITED to get his hair cut. He loves the race car chair and the fact that he gets to watch his shows on the TV during the haircut.

What a blessing! My little guy is one of «those» kids when he gets his hair cut; you know the type — screaming, raising hell, making everyone give us the side eye. Not here! Toys! Movies! Mini car with a steering wheel! Bubbles! Seriously, we were in and out in 20 minutes TOPS with NO TEARS. And the cut is fantastic! He doesn’t look like a stand in for Dumb & Dumber. Very cute little boys haircut that will grow out well.

Oh my goodness, Summer is a godsend!!! Such precision and patience with my 2 year old son who absolutely LOATHES getting haircuts (crying for the duration, flopping like a fish out of water, etc.). After trying 4 different «we specialize in children’s cuts» salons ranging from Corte Madera to Petaluma and being disappointed with the attitudes and service each time, I am SO relieved to have finally found a true and kind professional who clearly loves what she does and won’t let an impossible toddler deter her from a perfect job. She went WAY above and beyond my expectations and I was/​am very impressed. I have never been so happy with my son’s hair! A 40 minute drive for awesome service like this is no problem with me.

This is a wonderful, locally owned hair salon for kids! I love supporting local businesses and this is as good as it gets for my son. Every time we go, we are able to get his hair done right away and the result is crisp, clean and exactly how I like it to look. It takes a special kind of stylist to work with kids and Summer is so patient and always has a trick up her sleeve!

The movies and car chair really get the kids through the hair cut without freaking out. My wife was happy with the hair cut my son got (she’s VERY picky about hair) she has candy for when they are done if parent approves. Price is worth the hassle free hair cut.

The reviews don’t lie — we took our 19 month in for his first haircut today. It was a wonderful, non-​traumatic, milestone!
He’s obsessed with cars, so he paid no mind to anything but the Cars movie, car seats and toy cars. When he got a little freaked out Summer was on it with bubbles for a distraction.
A+ experience and I look forward to taking him back when he needs another cut.

Wow! I cannot say enough about our first visit at Cali kids with Summer! She’s AMAZING and it was such a positive fun experience for my daughter. everything about it was magical. The chairs, the surroundings, the friendliness and warmth Summer provides. Her hair cut and hair-​do were done professional and looked amazing. I highly recommend this hair salon to anyone with kids and feel so excited to have found such a cool place! My daughter was so happy when we left she asked if I could take her there again tomorrow :)

Ok, so I’m from Sacramento, CA. The salons out there have nothing on Cali kids. I wanted to get my son’s hair cut. He is an absolute terror. I’m always so apologetic to whoever has to cut his hair. And I always have to sit in the chair and hog tie my son. She had lego batman, my son loves batman anything! She was so calm and engaged my son in conversation even though he cried. Then Halfway through, he calms down. His haircut was absolutely perfect. She did exactly what i wanted. I’ll be making the 2 hour trip down here whenever my boy needs a cut. thanks so much!

WOW Summer is AMAZING! I took my two and a half year old here for her first hair cut and Summer eased her fears and made it magical! She has a lot of love for children and it REALLY shows! I just got my hair cut today and Summer put on a movie and let her play with toys while I got my hair cut. SCORE!!! Oh ya and my hair looks phenomenal. Summer is sweet, patient and super talented. If you want your child’s or your hair to be cut THIS IS THE PLACE!!!

I have a 19 month old. Shortly after his first birthday, we got him his first haircut. It was traumatizing for all of us and I was so afraid to cut his hair again after that, I let him essentially grow out a mullet over the following 6 months (which, mind you, was pretty awesome.)
A friend told me about this place and I figured we’d try again. He actually really liked it! She put Cars on the TV and let him hold a plastic hammer while getting his haircut. Apparently, that was the magic formula!
She was super gentle and patient and was even careful not to make too sudden of movements and freak him out. He came out looking like a very handsome little dude.
He did NOT, however, get to keep the hammer. We left it there for next time.
