For those familiar with Kabuki, Boathouse Sushi is basically the better tasting, more wallet-friendly version. It’s by no means authentic but it’s still good! Service is great and very attentive! As soon as we were seated, our server Melanie came by and introduced herself short after. We were given a bowl of miso soup each, compliments of the house. We went with a dinner combination to share between me and my dad since that’s apparently one of the more popular options of the restaurant. For the dinner combo we went with: friend scallops, California roll, and beef teriyaki. It also came with a scoop of rice and house salad. SERVINGWASHUGE! Definitely more than enough for two people to share. Deep fried scallops was definitely a surprise favorite! And the roll was so-so. You easily get your money’s worth based on how much food you’re getting. Great, easy place to grab Japanese food and seems like a popular spot to celebrate birthdays!

Delicious sushi and large selection. Melanie is a fabulous server! She gave excellent recommendations. Prawns martini appetizer is to die for. The aoli sauce they use on the prawns is amazing! The Lisa Lisa roll was excellent if you like a little crunch in your roll, and the Philadelphia roll was refreshing with salmon, cucumber, avocado snd cream cheese. Dinner meals with many options available that include soup, salad and rice. Miso soup is excellent. Kids menu has large variety of options. We will be back!

I munched here on the 1st night I was stuck in town, for motorcycle repairs. Since this place was close by and I was tired and hangry, I popped in for a bite and plenty of sake bombers. I sidle up at the bar and am greeted by lovely Paulette. She is pleasant and very competent and makes a few recommendations. I order, I drink, I eat and relax. I notice that the place has LOTS of employees all around. LOTS. I’m guessing that they’re just a very busy restaurant, else their labor costs must be exorbitant. Maybe that’s why the sushi is so high priced. Although I didn’t think the prices justified the average quality, it was still decent but so pricey that I decided to eat sushi elsewhere for my 2nd night. I was very impressed by the staff and how they all managed to keep busy, even though the place wasn’t. Good times in Sonoma County.

I wish there was an option for a half star review! I’ve been to this place twice. My first visit there I was very disappointed at first when they took out order but still hadn’t had our glasses of water. Even after asking the waitress another time there was still no water! I had to go up to the bar and ask for a couple of glasses of water and that’s when we finally got it. Asking for refills was exactly the same! My second time going there I was hopeful that my previous visit was just a bad one, but I was wrong. The same situation with water only difference was that we received our water within the 4th time asking. The food was nothing special. I will not be recommending this place to anyone I know. I’m sorry, but water is important!

A few years ago, this used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We went 2 – 3 times a week. However, it now seems iffy when it comes to either the food or service. The last few times we’ve been here, it seems to be run by young college students who don’t have any experience running a restaurant. For example, last week, the waiter made a mistake on our bill, overcharging us(On a bar item that we never ordered). Instead of voiding the transaction or crediting our debit card, the manager(a young girl) told us that it was too late to void the transaction($ 56) and that they would instead charge my card for the correct one($ 28). Are you kidding? There was a 5 minute difference!!! The manager claimed their $ 56 charge would«fall off» in a couple of days. In fact, the banks wait 10 business days(2 weeks) before they will remove a «pending» transaction. Okay, it’s only $ 56 and in two weeks, the money will be put back in my account. But how would you feel if you went out to dinner and were overcharged and then told there was nothing the restaurant could do? My son is a manager at Cattlemen’s and he said they could have either voided the check or issued an instant refund using my card. The fact that the manager didn’t know what to do, is pretty indicative of the low level of service here. The food is okay, but overpriced. With horrible service, we will not be back ever again.

Besides the fact that they forgot to bring out our order of hot sake and had to be reminded, they have creative flavorful sushi rolls and fresh sashimi. I have zero complaints about the food; however, service was lacking and that is why I only rated three stars. Honestly the food saved them from being a one star! When my husband and I walked in with our 9 month old the hostess asked us if we were a party of three, I let her know we were meeting a group. She asked if it was for the table of 8, we then gave a name and it was the same reservation. We actually ended up being a party of 9. Our mistake for being off on our count by one person and we could have put the extra person on a table end but they refused to let us and said it was a fire hazard, although they had no problem with a child seat in the same exact spot we wanted to put a chair. We then noticed a booth open in the back so we asked if we could slide our tables up to the booth table. The manager came over and said that she had people up front who have been waiting over an hour for that booth so she couldn’t do it. About 30 minutes later we noticed that there was still no one siting at the booth table that supposedly someone had been waiting forever to sit at. We mentioned this to a server and she told us, «actually we close that area off after 8pm». So basically the«manager» lied to us! We then notice about 15 – 20 minutes later that people were sat at that table. Wasn’t I just told that the area(that no one has sat at for almost an hour) is closed after 8pm? This place needs new staff ASAP! I don’t appreciate being lied to, especially with the amount of money we spent! I do want to add that our server was very friendly and I do appreciate that she grabbed some sliced up tofu for my daughter when she became fussy. Maybe she should replace the manager!

Eh. Sweet and sour garlic chicken was bland, and the sesame chick had a chemical overtone and no sesame seeds to speak of! Nice décor and extensive bar, but I won’t be coming here again. Also, no boats!

Ok, but just ok. New to the area and trying out different sushi joints. Staff was friendly. Service was a little slow. Selection of rolls was average. Everything did taste fresh. Two things kept me from giving 5 stars: First was the roll construction. We had 5 rolls. All of them fell apart. 3 were lopsided & had pretty much no rice on the bottom side. They were also sliced way too big. There was no way of getting them to your mouth without them deconstructing in route. Second was the price. Although it was fresh and tasted fine, the prices were high for what they were serving. For the price I would have expected everything to be outstanding. It was just ok. Alright meal but I highly doubt we will be back. There’s a place right down the road from this place that we think is a better value.

Love their food. Though sometimes their servers get distracted and you have to wait awhile for your water or drinks to get refilled. A lot of the servers have great personalities though, and their combination plates are the best with full rolls and the potstickers! Kid friendly as well.

I love the experimentation of the elaborately designed dishes here. The sushi is always fresh every time I come and everybody is always so friendly every time you walk in. They have an extensive selection on the menu — veggie dishes, hearty entrees and relatively inexpensive sushi — all key factors when looking for a quality sushi joint. Highly recommend!

So completely disappointed WHAT happened to this place? First I had to seat my self. Second my husband had to go get a menu. Third deal breaker I had to ask what happened to the drink I ordered. Not good, it was cold inside the waitress said to us «wow it sure is cold in here» ya think the place was freezing. Okay sushi comes no ginger or wasabi WTF can’t take it anymore. I met my husband here on a blind date 5 years ago. This was my favorite place what happened?

Our go-to place for sushi in Rohnert Park. Ambiance is casual and someone is up front to greet and seat us. We’ve always chosen to sit at the bar and sip our refreshing fruit drinks or hot sake while we watch the chef make rolls. Some favorite rolls we get are: Spider Roll: Fresh soft shell crab, has that a great salty, sweet flavor. Crispy cucumber & buttery, meaty avocado. Rice that doesn’t fall to pieces, moist & cooked well. The Unagi sauce really adds to the roll, a sweet soy sauce taste with a very slight spice. Price is around $ 14. Dragon Roll: Nice crispy tempura, cooked in a mild red, salt-pickled flavored batter. Crunchy crab and cucumber salad adds some dimension to the roll. The eel is why I order this roll, salty, swordfishy taste cooked in a sauce, barbeque-like. Topped with Masago Roe. Costs $ 14.50. Grand Canyon Roll(not on menu anymore): So bummed they aren’t doing this roll anymore! When I called my order in, the girl said they’ll make it this one last time only? Anyway, this roll is unique. Haven’t eaten anything like it at other sushi bars, and it’s dam tasty. Hoping they’ll bring it back. Try this sushi place! Service has been prompt and friendly everytime, food fresh & modernistic. Tabe tsukushimasu!

Every item I have had here is so flavorful. I also enjoy the ability to get 2 or 3-item combos, along with soup or salad, because I prefer to have a little bit of everything. Their salad dressing is probably my favorite, and I also love their aioli sauce– I put that on everything. I also wanted to note that I don’t eat sushi– I usually get the spicy chicken teriyaki or dirty fries. My only setback is that it is on the pricier side so try to come for lunch rather than dinner. I am looking forward to trying their new ramen too!

Yeah… No thanks. Perfectly polite service, but the Ramen arrived lukewarm, the broth was incredibly bland the noodles inedible, and overall flavors that salt pepper and Sriracha should could not salvage. And perhaps the worst part of all that I wasn’t surprised

Went here for dinner, they had a decent sized parking lot. Was seated quickly and service was prompt. The atmosphere was very welcoming and peaceful. I got miso soup for $ 3 and it had great flavor but not a lot of tofu which I wanted. I got the crazy horse roll which was a baked roll with smoked salmon and cream cheese. The roll itself was only 6 pieces which I thought was rather small but the pieces were big and it was one of the cheaper rolls priced at $ 9 so I guess you get what you pay for. My overall experience was good but not my favorite sushi, it was good though!
