We love taking our daughters here. The staff is always very friendly and they love the train. The ice cream is delicious and the girls love the dinosaur sprinkles. This ice cream is a million times better than Dairy Queen.

Satisfying my craving for chocolate, ice cream, caramel, salty nuts(heh) whilst celebrating the fact that I am not a mother this month!

If you want to support super local, I’d recommend trying a flavor that has M100 written next to it, indicating that the ingredients were harvested/produced within 100 miles of the store. I had the caramel apple pecan and pumpkin, which were both creamy, delicious, and seasonal. This location is great to bring kids too. There’s a train set that hangs from the ceiling and circles the store, creating a fun atmosphere.

love. love. love. mitchells is a cleveland staple in my opinion. creamy, rich goodness. waffle cones. um. warm. vanilla. touch of cinnamon, maybe?! fav choices: peanut butter pretzel yogurt. ahhhhhh it’s like heaven in your mouth. banana pie. what could be better than pieces of pie crust floating around in banana ice cream?! no. really??? i love that they are open later than most places, especially when that late night ice cream craving kicks in. i love that there are locations all over cleveland! mitchells, you get an A+ from me!

This place should get 10 stars! I have had a few of the flavors there. I love their mint chocolate chip, strawberry and cookies and cream. It’s a favorite for those who love ice cream!

Best ice cream ever! Great ingredients and awesome flavors! The seasonal special flavors are a real treat. Junior scoop is the way to go to get a real taste without stuffing yourself(and not feel guilty when you come back the next day!). My son has a nut allergy and they are always great about cleaning the scooper for him before dishing out his ice cream. Never miss a stop here when we come to Cleveland

Mitchells is one of my top three ice cream places in the Cleveland area. They’re a local chain and the minute you walk in, you smell this wonderful sweet, chocolatey aroma. They have the classic flavors and then some different ones based on the season. My personal favorites are cookies and cream and maple walnut. I recently tried their brownie. Yum! It is more cake texture than gooey, but when it’s warmed up and then combined with a scoop of ice cream, you can’t go wrong! Great place to take a group of people as there is ample seating. And it’s always been a hit when my family or other guests have visited the area.

Really friendly service and a delicious sundae. I highly recommend the peanut butter sauce. Sweetheart says it is her favorite ice cream in Cleveland and that«this is what heaven smells like, except on Wednesdays because Wednesdays are for garlic bread.» And there’s a train! And children’s artwork which we are using to guess the fates of the child artists. So good!

Best ice cream in the Greater Cleveland area. I started coming to Mitchell’s when I moved to Cleveland from Dayton, where There weren’t a great deal of options for ice cream except the large chains. I.E. Friendly’s and Baskin & Robins. Both with their own merits, however when I happened upon Mitchell’s I was sold. 20 yrs later I can say they haven’t missed a beat. From their seasonal specialties to there tried and true standard flavor’s they’ve got it right. So, go. Enjoy one of the areas not so best kept secrets and spread the word. On, a side note. It is a bit expensive so bring your wallet and know that it’ll be well worth it when that sweet frozen creaminess hits your tastebuds.

This is the best dang ice cream ever. Like ever. If there is a dessert flavor, you can count on it tasting exactly like that dessert. Unlike some things that may say«key lime» and you taste it and you’re like«ok…that tastes something like key lime pie… its limey and creamy-ish» this place makes key lime taste EXACTLY like key lime pie. I’m not a cone person, so I generally get the«Tasters Duo» in a cup which is a generous half scoop of two flavors of your choice. Salted Carmel, Key Lime, Tiramisu, Smores… you can’t go wrong. Heck, the vanilla and chocolate are even scrumptious. I often buy a pint to go and store it in my fridge for those ice cream emergencies that come up once in awhile. Just grab a spoonful and all is right in the world.

One of my favorite places for ice cream in cleveland! The ice creams are creamy & flavorful. Whatever flavor you get, you can’t go wrong! I love the peanut butter chocolate chuck & my boyfriend loves the fresh mint chocolate chunk(which is also really good). The banana cream pie is another favorite of mine.

Came here for a cone after having dinner at Market. This place was highly recommended by a friend. Decided on the Great Lakes Brewing Company Stout with chocolate chunks ice cream. Took my cone outside to eat it and what do i see mixed in with the creamy deliciousness? A HAIR! Not like a small hair either. A 10 inch long black hair that swept around my cone. GROSS!!! I was so repulsed I took it inside to show them. Two people were so grossed out they left the line to order, another demanded a refund. I was handed a new cone which was appreciated but a refund would have been a good idea on their behalf. I ate the replacement and it was delicious but I was really disgusted by the whole experience. They could have smoothed over it better than what I got… a shrug and a new possibly lair laden frozen treat.

A friend and I decided to pull out the bicycles and get ourselves some ice cream after a long day sailing on Lake Erie. This place was quite busy, but the servers were still patient and friendly when I asked about the seasonal flavors. My friend went with cookie dough and I opted for the strawberry jalapeño. Such a great flavor combination! You get the sweet fruitiness of the strawberry with a kick from the jalapeño. I would also like to point out that their kids scoop is a perfect size for those who love food but who are also trying not to turn into Jabba the Hutt. The size is big enough to quench your sweet tooth and yet small enough you don’t feel guilty about it. Other great flavors are the Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp, Widlberry Crumble, and the Campfire S’mores!

How can you really say anything bad about the ice cream here? It’s so good. And when you walk in, all you can smell is the freshly made waffle cones. Forget about Jimmy Johns, they should advertise«free smells» here. They do have lots of delicious sounding flavors as well as some sorbet. Oh yeah, for when you feel like a fatty, they do have a no sugar added vanilla(I think it’s non-fat as well?) that isn’t too shabby as far as «healthy» ice cream goes. Although it’s a bit pricey for ice-cream, for me, Mitchell’s is part of what it means to be in Westlake/Rocky River during summertime.

This is by far the best vegan ice cream I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. The chocolate was rich and had a nice dark bite. The salted caramel had a nice balance of slat and sweetness. I’ve never had such creamy vegan ice cream. Here’s hoping they expand their selections.

I am not a big fan of sweets and especially Ice-cream is not my favorite thing either. I have been here only once with my friends but enjoyed it just because of the joy on my friend’s faces. The ice-cream here must be very good!

Mitchell’s is by far the best ice cream in Cleveland. I have never had something there that I didn’t like. The ice cream is full flavored and they have a huge variety of toppings as well. They have amazing seasonal flavors and they make everything fresh in store. They also try to use local products whenever possible and they tell you when they used local materials with the M100. My favorite flavor is their mint chocolate chunk which consists of fresh mint ice cream and huge chocolate chunks. But I also love their seasonal flavors as well. I can’t wait until christmas when they have their Great Lakes Christmas Ale ice cream.

So, I was lucky enough this summer to have the strawberry rhubarb crunch ice cream. Holy joygasm, Batman! Even my son, who«doesn’t like sweets»(Seriously? Who is this kid??), loves it. I mean. wolfed his cone down. At Christmas time, they release the Great Lakes Christmas Ale ice cream. Now, I’m no longer a fan of GLBC Christmas Ale(that’s a whole other review), but this is a very tasty treat annually. They weave their magical spells, add homemade ginger snaps, and voila! Ice cream heaven.

What a great place to get ice cream. Every time I have been there, there has been a long line, but it moves relatively quickly, so don’t let that scare you. They have a hige ice cream selection – even though I have been here several times, I can always find something new to try. They have a lot unique flavors as well as traditional ones, like chocolate and vanilla, that kind of thing. The staff is always very friendly and they allow you to try samples of the ice cream. I love when places do that, because then I’m not stuck with an ice cream cone I don’t like. Another thing I like about this place is they have different«Cleveland» shirts for sale. That just makes it seem like they are a business that loves their city. I would definetly recommend this place to anyone that love dessert/ice cream. Can’t wait to try all the flavors!

I’m from ‘Sconsin so I’ve had some good ice cream in my day. Mitchell’s is a very close comparison in taste and quality to the best local ice cream in Madison, Wisconsin — The Chocolate Shoppe. The best thing about Mitchell’s is that they use the best ingredients — I am really impressed by the fact that all main ingredients come from within 100 miles of Cleveland. Also they use grass-fed dairy exclusively. Wow! It has to be hard just to FIND grass-fed milk in the quantities they must use. Very cool indeed. Really interesting special flavors to try — recently had Edmund Fitzgerald Porter Chocolate chunk — excellent! The brownie sundae is huge and totally yummy — warm brownie on the bottom, ice cream, fudge, whipped cream and pecans on top. With a real cherry — not the neon red kind. Very good and a huge portion for the price — $ 4.95. It was big enough to share unless you really want a LOT of ice cream. This store is really clean and neat, with take home pints and quarts of all the varieties available. Lots of seating inside and some outside as well. Lots of original flavors — big portions. Can’t wait for the new flagship spot to open in Ohio City! Love me some Mitchell’s!
