Whole Deli is a no frills type of Deli that executes breakfast and lunch sandwiches very well. The taste and quality of the sandwich is consistent. They use Boar’s Head meats and the toppings are always fresh. The menu primarily consists of all your standard sandwich offerings plus a variety of custom. The food is always prepared quickly. I’ve never waited more than a couple minutes so it’s a great place to stop if you are in a rush. In terms of pricing, they are a little bit more expensive by $ 1 or $ 2 than most delis, but you can taste the difference. Say no to Subway and check it out!

This was our go to breakfast place when we lived in Rocky Hill. The bacon egg and cheese is one of the best I’ve had. The grinders/sandwiches are great too, and made with quality ingredients.

I got the ‘high protein special’ on a wheat wrap and was pleasantly surprised at how good the turkey tasted. It tasted almost as if it had been carved off a fresh roasted turkey in-store. The cucumber adds a nice refreshing texture while the hot peppers give it a nice zing. I couldn’t taste the mozzarella or avocado whatsoever though. All in all, it was a good wrap and I’m sure I’ll go again.

I frequently grab a sandwich there but no more! its not that the food is bad it’s the employees. I order my sandwich when a customer walked in who had left with his two sandwiches and came back because they forgot bacon they told him it would cost 2 dollars he replied your going to charge me after your mistake and inconveniencing me? The employee said to the customer you never asked for it you were wrong. She even picked up the slip and said«see its not written down«what? Anyway after he left and I still waiting for my food the three employees began calling their customer an A hole with me there and multiple times one employee called him cheap and hoped he gets fat eating the bacon unbelievable while I a customer WAS there they bashed him for about 3 minutes. Plenty of other places to grab a sandwich

The food is average but consistent. The prices have gone up so much it’s outrageous. There are many other local businesses with higher quality and comparable or lower pricing. $ 12.00 for a sandwich and a snapple !! crazy !!! Time for another choice.

Fantastic sandwiches. Whole Deli does it right with the hot sandwiches and large selection of sandwiches. Huge fan of the steak n cheese. All around it is a tasty, well-priced eatery.

Good, reasonably priced with some creative sandwich choices. The breakfast sandwiches beat Mcdonalds any day of the week. Just wish they served good salads too.

I’ve had breakfast here before and finally made it over for lunch. I bought a Capri Panini and a grilled cheese. I paid roughly $ 12 for both and they were prepared quickly. No complaints, pretty good food and appropriate price. This place has a «Ma & Pa» feel, and its pretty small. It can get crowded in the morning. I can see myself going back.

Great sandwiches. Perfect quick lunch spot. I go here frequently and usually choose a special from the board, I’ve never been disappointed. I wish they were open Sunday’s!

The Rocky Hill and Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches are both amazing! When you are tired of the«Made Fresh» lie of Subway, come here for the real deal. Best sandwich I have had in a long time!

I was in the Rocky Hill area and looking for a quick lunch spot so I stopped into Whole Deli for a sandwich. They had a large number of custom sandwiches, as well as the standard options. I wasn’t in the mood for anything in particular so I got an Italian with spicy mustard. The meat/cheese was Boar’s Head and the lettuce/tomato was fresh. At $ 10 for a medium sized grinder and a water, it was not cheap. The sandwich was decent, but nothing to set it apart from the rest. I’d come back to try one of their specialty sandwiches.

I’m a big fan in supporting local business and especially when they are businesses that are done RIGHT. This place is done right. My ex and I tried this place out back in ’08 when we first moved to Rocky Hill and it quickly became our go-to spot for a quick, satisfying and filling lunch. The prices are a bit steep but you pay for quality. What more could you want in a deli that serves Boar’s Head and slices it fresh right in front of you? I’ll tell you… This deli is owned by an INCREDIBLY nice Asian family which is sort of like a conundrum in itself. The owner’s wife always wear a sweet and stylish apron, frilly and flowery. It’s beyond cute and in my opinion, brightens the place up. The cook has been there since we have been patronizing this place and he knows what he’s doing. Everything is always spot on. Whether you get your usual or want to try something different, it’s quick and delicious. A few quick nods to the other usuals you can add to your meal — they have Deep River chips and Boylan sodas. So, now I’m an even bigger fan of a local business who supports other local business. They have fresh fruit on the counter as well as in the fridge next to the homemade macaroni salad, potato salad and coleslaw. They changed the mac salad recipe a few years ago and started adding dill. I’m a fan of dill so in my opinion, it’s yummy and different. If you aren’t, steer clear of any of the side salads. They all have dill in them. Just in recently(there is a new cashier now, young girl) to pick up a couple sandwiches. The owner’s wife made it a point to stop me on the way out and ask me if my daughter(who is 2) would like a banana. It was a sweet gesture that only reminded me of why we started visiting this place years ago. This deli isn’t going anywhere — they know how to treat their customers and they do it well. I say visit and try some of their best known sandwiches: The Rocky Hill, The Brian, The Sweetness and The Godfather. Me personally, I just like a good old ham and cheese sandwich which by the way is simply, pleasantly and fantastically delicious. They don’t overthink things and that’s the key to this place.

1.) Just to warm you up: I came back around this time because I was hungry and wanted to try something new. I did not try anything new. 2.) What your eyes may see: No restroom. An Asian guy working the cash register. He is the owner. And an Arabic guy cooking right behind him. Tables and semi booths for you to sit in. A nice view of Silas Deane highway, and what a nice view it is! lol 3.) Food: I got the usual suspects — which were a Philly Cheese Steak, Jalapeño Chips from Deep River, and Cream Soda from Boylan. A sandwich that had two tasty friends satisfying my stomach and taste buds. And I believe that that sandwich was made with love because… 4.) Service: Because the owner’s right hand man, the guy who made the sandwich was a very very very very very very very very nice guy. I mean, this guy gave me winks and smiles that only one who was physically attracted would give. He put appreciating his costumers to another level. I actually felt uncomfortable eating there, because I got constant looks, winks and smiles from this guy. Sheesh. *buries face into sandwich* 5.) Impressions: All in all, the food and service here are good. I’m starting to believe that if you are a chocolate man, you will be getting a lot of attention from the guy who makes the sandwiches. A lot of attention.

This place is simple, and perfect. It is a sandwich shop. If you want a sandwich or a grinder, you are going to get fresh ingredients, boars head meats and fresh bread. They also have a lot of deep river chip varieties and old school boylan soda. They are friendly, quick, and clean! Don’t expect gourmet, expect a great place to get a quick bite and head down to the park on the river to eat it.

For the Rocky Hill /Wethersfield area, probably some of the best grinders around. Very lean pastrami, they only use Boar’s Head meat.
