I love Taco Cabana and was very excited when I found out it was coming to town. I used to like Taco Bell until I tried Taco Cabana. I have never had a good experience with this location and won’t touch it now. I had multiple visits where we were pulled around from the drive thru and asked to wait. And wait. And wait. And finally I would have to go inside and find someone to find my order, which was still never correct. If it wasn’t a lengthy wait, the order was just wrong. Even a simple order for two. It is really a shame because I love the tortillas and fajita cabana bowl. But I don’t believe the management has a clue how to run the place.

Ok, the last few times I’ve been in haven’t been as good. Enchiladas were cold(both times) and got my order wrong. And since when did they start charging for chips? I hope they regroup or were gonna have to cross this one off the list.

After placing our order with the least friendly person possible we waited in the freezing cold restaurant for our food with the number we were given. There were only about 5 different families in there 3 of which had there food. 2 different girls walked the place with the same tray of food and could not find the people it went to even with each order having a number to identify it. 4 different women came out of the kitchen to ask the woman taking the orders if she could remember who it went to. Finally after about 20 minutes our food came out. I had ordered a street taco meal which the beans and rice looked like they had been sitting there for a while and the street tacos looked like they had dog food in them not fresh grilled ingredients at all, ordered 3 street tacos and a large order of queso. The chip boat was half empty and most the chips in it were crumbs. The queso was so spicy we could not eat it. I have to say It was passed an unpleasant experience.

First time I have tried a Taco Cabana and likely the last. Ordered Steak Fajita tacos, and got chicken. Well, I was in a hurry back to work, who checks every food order everyday anyways? We put trust in the chef. Get it right! Proof in the receipt: It’s quite cold in the restaurant also, outside was more comfortable.

I would give the store 3 stars but a couple of Hispanic ladies that work there are always very nice to me and my wife. One issue that bothered me was that this random white dude(manager??) of the store came up to us while we were eating and informed us that if we took the survey and gave the place a great review, we could get a free desert. After I told him I would fill it out later… he just awkwardly stood next to our table as an attempt to make us feel uncomfortable for not filling it out now. Nice try weird glasses manager dude thanks a lot for weirding us out and also attempting to bribe us so you can get a pay raise. Other than that weirdo, the food is good and is usually delivered pretty fast.

Used to be really bad, with lazy sloppy workers. Based on my visit today, they have improved significantly. It’s still cheap texmex fastfood, but it is a couple steps up from taco bell. In its favor: 1) you sit down after making your order, & they bring your food to your table. At the Bell & taco casa you have to hover around the counter waiting. 2) decent salsa bar with some genuinely tasty choices. 3) they make their own tortillas in-house. It’s not Meso Maya or Javier’s, but whaddaya want for $ 5? And they do breakfast.

Still a good value and good breakfast spot… however the last time I went they failed to give dine in folks numbers for their order and then delivered incorrect food to myself and others. Very disappointing. As unorganized as it was I have up on the food they did deliver and went elsewhere for dinner. Pissed away ten dollars but was not worth my patience to try to fox when they pooched several orders behind me.

Tried the Chicken Taco Salad Bowl with Guacamole(large) for $ 8.10 which is reasonable. The chicken bowl is delicious, full of flavor, juicy meat with a crispy shell. They have a full condiment stand of fresh salsa’s, cilantro, onions and sour cream dip. Very clean restaurant with helpful friendly staff.

It’s a nice step up from a Taco Bell with more full Mexican dinner type choices with the speed of fast food. I’m not overly thrilled with their fajitas, but the brisket taco was something different to have. I’ll stick with that if I go again. But if you are looking for speed + great Mexican food + nice surroundings, go to Rosa’s.

It sure looked like a nice location and everything was clean and new. We ordered our usual favorite — Bean and Cheese tacos with green salsa & red salsa. In general, we love Taco Cabana’s refried beans because they’re so flavorful and smooth and the tortillas are so fluffy, warm and fresh. However, these had absolutely no flavor whatsoever… it’s like they forgot to season them at all. So, I loaded them up with the green salsa, and that had no flavor at all either… Thinking it was just me or something wrong with my tastebuds, I took a sip of my Venti Tazo Chai(all milk, no water) from Starbuck’s and it was fabulous… So, it wasn’t just me. I tried my next bean and cheese taco with the red salsa, and it was the same thing… No flavor! I’m not sure what the problem was today, but I wasn’t satisfied at all with the quality of the food I purchased today from this location. I often grab 1 barbacoa taco too, but didn’t this time. I wonder what that would have been like…

My wife and I discussed it. Here is how it goes for Mexican Fast-Food in Rockwall. 1. Taco Casa 2. Taco Bueno 3. Taco Cabana 4. Anything Else 5. Dog Food 6. Taco Bell Taco Cabana wants to be awesome… and it could be. But it’s not. Bland salsa, half filled tacos, crappy cheap chicken. The fajita steak items are generally OK(Fajitas, Tacos, Quesadillas) but this place just cant hold a candle to Taco Casa, nor is it better than Taco Bueno. Admit it, its true. Breakfast here was also a miss… for the same money you get 5x the awesome from Whataburger. I wont be back.

Food good. Food server great. Girl behind the cash register is brand new(I was here last week on her first day) and a week later, she still can’t do her basic job.(Trained poorly?) Cannot use register and cannot speak above a mumble, with few human interaction skills. And forgets to hand the number to everyone for your table server to find you. Yes, everyone. Am I being harsh? No. After working for a week on a touch screen custom designed cash register, you should still be able to ring up #3 plate with no modifications and no drink. And hand a receipt and table number. If you can’t do this, step aside. It’s a shame that this is «the face» of this restaurant.

Wow, reading over the reviews, I guess I got lucky. My drive-thru service(admittedly, at the off-hour of 2:30 on a Saturday) was quick and efficient, with only a minor hiccup(Dr. Pepper instead of Diet Dr. Pepper). My selection was a beef taco platter with soft tortillas, featuring two ground beef tacos, chips and queso and a medium drink. The drink was standard fare fountain stuff, no problems there. Unfortunately, the chips were a little stale, and couldn’t be propped completely back up by the queso, which was pretty decent for fast food. But the tacos were the star of the show, and they made this into a good meal. The tortillas were fresh if a bit thick, and the beef filling was generous, alongside the cheese, lettuce and a smattering of tomato. Dumping a container of the free-for-asking salsa onto each added a little spice, but the Tex-Mex flavor was already there, so it wasn’t a requirement. All in all, this was a decent meal, marred only by the stale chips.

I attempted to place an order at the drive thru on a Sunday morning at 9am. There was one customer in front of me. I ordered decaf coffee, but they were«out». I ordered two tacos and two coffees. 12 minutes later I still had one customer in front of me and no food. I backed down the drive thru lane and left without my order. Very disappointing.

Food is good. The service is horrible. Was sitting at the window in the drive through for 15 mins waiting on my food while watching the employees text on there phones and joke with each other.

Love their breakfast tacos. Went there for breakfast this morning and they had absolutely no cheese. They were waiting for a truck later in the day. Why does that manager still have a job? A Mexican place with no cheese is like a hamburger place with no buns.

Great breakfast tacos! Very inexpensive. We ordered 6 tacos for 6 dollars. They open super early so it’s perfect for road trips.
