My family came here to celebrate mine and my mom’s birthdays. The restaurant was very nice. We were really excited to eat here. The prices were higher than other hibachi restaurants so we were expecting some awesome food and entertainment. The waitress we had was friendly but not very attentive. We had to flag her down for refills and me drinks. She would disappear for a while and finally come back. The chef we had wasn’t very engaging. The filet he prepared was good. The sauces they offer with the food were not very good. The noodles were bland. The rice was pretty good. He definitely wasn’t entertain as most of the chefs typically are. Overall, I definitely won’t be back as I have other places I like to go. But it would have been nice if this place worked out. It is ½ between my parents and us for us to enjoy a nice dinner and entertainment.

Went to Kyoto for lunch today and it was exactly what I hoped for. I was craving tuna, avocado, and a salad and my girlfriend wanted the hibachi grill. Our server Kirk was attentive and funny. Our chef was a master of his craft and managed to not waste any food as he flung it at our faces. The tuna avocado roll I ordered tasted fresh and the portion was perfect for the price. Be sure to check-in if it’s your first time visiting to try their miso soup for free; it was also very tasty. Both the seaweed and ginger salads were very good and the dressings were spot on. My girlfriend’s steak was cooked perfectly and tasted like a $ 30 filet. She was also very pleased with the green tea. Our bill was only $ 37 for two three course meals. Their location in Rowlett is equally as amazing and I would recommend either of these restaurants to anyone looking for a quick sushi meal, a family hibachi meal, a formal party in a private room, or an intimate dinner.

Not one customer for Hibachi. 3:30 in the afternoon and we cannot sit in the four spot at the square table around the grill. Hello did you not see there is no customers. Had to leave and go to SaltGrass. That is one terrific Hostess.

This is the worst hibachi restaurant i’ve ever been too, i’ll give it zero star if i can. The food are no flavor, meats are not fresh and sushi taste wierd. I’m a huge fan of japanese food but here is nothing japanese about it. Let me save you, dont ever bother to stop here wasting your money Go to edohana the one next to it or edo japan just across the street they are much better food and quality

I have been to lots of Japanese restaurants. I heard lots of good things about this place. I decided to make reservations for my birthday. So we get there and they tell us that that they can’t seat us until our whole party is there. After I got upset and almost left, they sat us at our table, which should have been done to begin with. Beware!!! If you have a party OVERSIX, they charge an 18% tip which is split between the chef and server. Now, I have to admit, our server was great! She was patient and was very nice. The only problem was, we had one person that was missing and was running late but on the way. We informed the server. 5 mins later, our last guest walks in. We sat for 15 mins before our server came back and ordered food. After the server ordered the food, we waited another 20 mins before the chef came. He put on a nice show. The whole egg. volcano and shrimp routine… seen it a million times. Now to the food… first of all… if you like extremely greasy noodles fried rice, meat/seafood and not-so-fresh veggies, this is the place be. All of the food was super bland and my medium rare meat was medium well. We ordered a crunch roll and it was luke warm and there was so much crunch that we couldn’t even see the sushi and had to dig to find the sushi underneath. There was absolutely no flavor at all and the roll was really small. 2 hibachi combos, 2 teas, 1 soda, 1 crunch roll and 2 alcoholic beverages was 97 dollars… this is with 18% tip that they added. also, they didn’t make us aware of this before we ordered, instead they waited until we got the bill and said… on by the way… we added a tip… I have never in my life felt so ripped off. My party had fun and that was the only good thing that came out of Kyoto’s that night. later that night, my husband got violently sick. He ate more sushi than any of us so I am not sure if it was the sushi or something else but at any rate, we will never ever be back.

Don’t know where they got the $$ business from because it’s definitely pricey … over $ 350 for six of us to dine here is pricey to me. Yeah, we had drinks and we had some pricey items but not that pricey of items ! portions are not large or prime just OK. We’ll be back but only for special occasions, interior is confusing especially when one goes to the bathroom they’re kind of hidden behind a shower curtain over by the sushi bar. Strange. Our habichi chef seemd ill at ease with performing before 8 or 10 of us. Former Carrabas Italian restaurant I believe.

Service wasn’t bad and food was OK, not the freshest I’ve had. We ordered hibachi and sushi, the hibachi was excellent, the sushi was good, but not the freshest. If I’m in the area again, I may stop by. The friends we were with loved the hibachi.

Not sure why this place does so much business. The food is ok but in my opinion it’s hard to screw up hibachi. I’ll never come back here unless I’m meeting a group or something. Edo Japan is so much better and just about the same price.

Best food in town! It’s a little pricy but defiantly worth it! The fried rice is amazing. I DONTLIKEFRIEDRICE and I LOOOOOVVVVEEE theirs. The cooks are always keeping you on the edge of your seat because you don’t know what is coming next! Everyone is friendly.

Our go to Hibachi. The place nice and the staff are friendly. The food has always been consistently good. The entertainment value may be a little sedate but the food makes up for it. We love the appetizer spring rolls and you usually can’t go wrong with the filet and shrimp. The accompaniments are also tasty.

Finally! An excellent sushi restaurant in Texas with great service and very fresh and flavorful sushi. Prices are on the upper end but very worth it! My new regular sushi bar.

Great meal with friends. We had some sushi and hitachi. All the food was great. Most left with doggie bags. For the amount to food served the prices were reasonable.

I have been to many restaurants but never a Japanese Steakhouse or at least I do not remember it. This visit will be memorable and not to be forgotten. We came here for my big brother’s birthday dinner. Actually the original plan was to go to Saltgrass, next door, but there was an excessive wait time. All things happen for a reason. I have been in the Rockwall area for a long, long time and I have never been here. Wierd. I guess it never interested me. We had the best chef… he greeted us by apologizing that we got the white guy. Dude is already a hit with that one. I think we were the most jovial table in the restaurant. I don’t think we noticed anyone else until after our meals were cooked. To say the least, we had a blast. Everything was cooked so wonderfully and I took my leftovers home and ate them that night. I had filet mignon and shrimp, others had salmon and chicken. I tried my hand at them all. Yummy! I will definitely be back! The only thing is that you will have to decide what you want. It’s always a great idea to get the people to come cook your food in front of you with the grill plates or combos. Also the sushi was nice. I took pictures and videos. So check them out!

This service here was very nice and welcoming. They close at 9:30.We came in a little late(8:45 or so), and they were still very nice and served us well. The sushi was good, but not the best I’ve ever had.

Took the kids here for a fun evening out of entertainment, well that was the good part, sat at the grill and the guy definitely was entertaining for sure! All the fun tricks that the kids like to see. The volcano, egg in the air, catch a shrimp! But seriously, if your looking for a GOODMEAL not the greatest place to go in this area. Food is overpriced, over cooked, they serve WAY to much and the staff minus the cook all acted like they would rather be somewhere else! The family ate the hibachi while I took in the sushi, and you could have subbed in Kroger and I would not have really known the difference. Not to mention the place just dent seem all that clean, a slight musty feel overall. Looks like a pretty regular bar crowd hough if thats the game your looking for. The place should have stayed Italian, was better that way!

It’s teppanyaki. Whaddaya want? Way overpriced –served with a fun flair — middling sushi. Just like the other teppanyaki joints you’ve been. Lost a star for a dirty, stale-smelling dining area. To avoid it, go to the grills. Not quite as much atmosphere as Edohana, but similar quality — or lack of same. Perfectly fine to take the kids for a treat, or your small-town visiting relatives. Don’t expect more and you’ll be satisfied. Lordy I wish a first-rate Japanese place would open in Rockwall.

The food was ok, the service was ok, the prices seemed high for what you got. Nothing to brag about. I ordered an extra dirty martini and it was straight vodka, no brine at all. I asked for it to me made again and this time they put two olives in it, but didn’t add brine. Oh well. There are plenty of these types of restaurants so I doubt we will be back here.
