Love this chain, especially this location! The amount of choices to create your own stir fry meal is wonderful! And the fact that you can watch your food being made is a plus! This location is clean. The staff are very friendly. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The bowls are a little pricey, but for the quality of the food and service it’s well worth it. This is my go to place when I’m in a stir fry mood! P. S. get the pot stickers appetizers! So awesome!

Every time I have been here it is quick, food is really good and staff is always friendly. Good portion of food. Even enough for the next day. Probably one of my favorite places to eat in Rockwall. Way better than all the dang Mexican food places. If you have never eaten Mongolian food I definitely recommend trying it.

Came here in the past and it’s Small, Medium and Large bowls. Small serving for the price so we stopped coming. They switched to bottomless bowls so we returned. Came again and they switched BACK to Small, Medium and Large and did away with bottomless bowls. We will not be back to Ghengis, we never know what to expect.

I haven’t been to this location in a long time, but it was good back then. I love being able to mix my own food together, but if you have no idea of what you’re doing, they have little recipes with exact measurements you can follow. I love Mongolian style food and the beer was very reasonable last time I was there for happy hour.

The service was great awesome bowls if you haven’t been here try it out! It’s unique and different by different I mean you make your own bowl of stuff and the buffet table is all raw so you give what you want in your bowl to the chefs and they cook it all on this circle grill that is like 400degrees so it cooks quickly and your server will bring you your food :) I reccomend the flavored teas :) the strawberry tea is awesome and if you ask you can take it to go!

The main concern here, and this does scare me. was that my whole family had extremely undercooked pork come back in our bowls after the cooking process. Clearly pink! Pink on the outside of some pieces, RAW pink meat… I’m sorry but gross! We sent it back for a second cooking and once again the pork came back with pieces pink in the middle. The cook was offended that we said it was undercooked and he asked the waitress if we’d like for him to burn it! Nah, how about you just COOKITRIGHT so we can safely consume the meat! This was at 2pm, not a lunch rush at all. That alone is enough for me to NEVERGOBACK. Not to mention the Manager, being so busy at 2pm, not once came by to apologize or see if there was anything he could do. The one plus in this place was our waitress. She was friendly and great with our kids. Everything else… well…never again! YUCK!

we were warmly greeted and waiter Dustin explained everything kindly. After a bad experience in Garland, loved good service from Rockwall! The waters came immediately with lemon to boot. The food arrived simultaneously and my husband and I enjoyed the meal. Stephanie the manager checked up on us and we felt great from the royal treatment. Im coming back and telling my friends skip Garland and drive over to Rockwall Genghis Grill.

Back in the day, I used to skip my last class before lunch to go to what I thought was an amazingly delicious chinee buffet. My boys and I would stuff ourselves on this crap until we had no choice but to go to sleep once we got back to school. Not once did I ever visit the Mongolian grill inside this chinee buffet. I think the little fella in the chef hat actually slept standing up. I recently returned and realized how bad the buffet really is, but I think the lil’ chef was still sleeping. Fast forward a couple decades from my high school glory and we have Genghis Grill. I have been to this location several times since it’s my pop’s favorite lunch spot. All in all, it’s not bad. I usually do a damn fine job of putting together a bowl that I am proud of. Sure it could be a little cleaner. Sure the service could be a little better, but the food ends up pretty good and the old man is happy so I’m happy too. On yesterday’s trip, the service was fairly prompt, our bowls came out quickly and tasted great! Plus it’s pretty affordable for the amount you get charged. One thing I will add, Genghis Grill has recently taken a page out of the Subway play book. They have been mounting a fairly massive ‘look at us we’re all healthy and shit’ campaign. My hats off to corporate since it seems to be working, they always seem to be loaded with the diet coke with a value meal crowd, but I’m not buying it. Unless your bowl of delicious Mongolian grilled goodness is small enough to fit directly in your hand, it’s not gonna change your life. Not for a few hours anyway.

I’m only giving 1 star because I can’t give 0. We have ALWAYS had issues with this Genghis Grill, but keep returning only because our daughter loves it and it’s healthy food for her. The service here is always horrible and our last visit on March 14th was no different. My family ALL requested tortillas and none of us received them. My husband and I never got refills of our water, though we asked many times, and our daughter only got a refill of her drink because we demanded it. Many other requests were either ignored or given only because we asked many, many times, I suppose this visit was at least better than the one during which no waiter/waitress helped us ATALL(true story)! I’m amazed that this place is still open and would not recommend it to anyone!

Been here many times. Past two times were horrible. One time we had to walk out after waiting 20 minutes and no one acknowledging us even being there. This past time were seated and the waiter that we were told would be waiting on us passed by multiple times before acknowledging us(about 15 minutes). The food did not look fresh. Needless to say will not be back to this location. We will drive the extra few miles and go to Mesquite. Have never had a bad experience there.

If you’re on Wheat Belly, Paleo or Diabetic diets, this is the only place to eat and stay on the program! While Genghis Grill has always been a good choice for staying close to your diet plan, it’s now 100% compliant for all three by adding cabbage to the carb list! YEAH!!! The veggie choices have always been very good to excellent for people watching their carb types and diet plan, now there’s an appropriate carb selection so you don’t have to compromise at all. We just returned from this location and my husband is now hooked on Mongolian BBQ beef as the protein selection. Now he even wants it here at home between visits to the Rockwall location. You can also beef up your cabbage quantity as a side for $ 1.00 which I did. The cabbage cooks down more than the old carb-heavy choices like brown rice, Udon noodles fried rice, spiral pasta and tortillas but now there’s CABBAGE! Well worth the extra charge for a little more cabbage. Our personal Warrior was Carissa and she is the best of the best. I don’t know if one can request being on her Warrior station but you will be extremely happy and well served if you do. For those of you familiar with Latin, she is né plus ultra. For those of you not familiar with Latin, Google it and learn something new today that you can continue to use. You’re welcome :) There’s also a new WiFi type payment device on your table that we used and it worked perfectly. You can also play games but there is a charge involved that I didn’t pay attention to so you will have to find that out yourself.

The service was appalling. The food presentation was embarrassing. Most of the sauces were 20%full and thrown everywhere it was messy and at one point there was no employees to be seen. This is on a Friday at 8pm. Will drive to mesquite next time.

This place was bad. About 5 servers passed us before we were acknowledged. When we finally were helped and led to a table. The floor was so sticky. My sandals were stuck to the floor The table was dirty. The place was dirty all around. Totally do NOT recommend this location.

Used to love these places when they were closer to where we live. Haven’t tried one in several years and stopped here on the way home from a get-together tonight. Place was busy, but not crazy. We were seated quickly, but then left without service at the table for over 10 minutes. Wait-staff was nowhere to be seen, and there were several agitated folks around us. Suddenly the entire wait staff appeared out of the kitchen to sing happy-birthday to somebody. Still took another 5 minutes before we were able to flag down the hostess to ask where the server was at. Food was OK, but no waitress seemed flustered and confused by our being at one of her tables. We don’t need a lot of help from them at this place, but drinks and bowls to get started are appreciated. We were thinking about appetizers and drinks, but with the slow service we scaled back our order to enhance delivery times. Probably won’t stop there again — there are other options that will get a try before a return visit here.

I love this place because I can make a chicken pad thai imitation when I’m in the mood for it. Fill your bowl full of chicken then pile on cabbage until you can’t fit anything else. Sprinkle on bean sprouts, green onions, and grab two eggs. Fill your sauce cup up with their red curry peanut sauce. Nom nom nom. I go back and get more sauce after it’s cooked and peanuts. Ask for noodles. The last time I went their chicken was very very tough and chewy and I didn’t get very many noodles. I don’t like this location as much as others I’ve been to. It’s a bit small and crowded feeling but it’s not terrible. It’s a great place for my vegan husband to pig out at. Very vegetarian and vegan friendly.

I have been a fan of Genghis Grill for a LONG time, way before they started popping up everywhere in DFW… It’s still one of my favorite places to eat but I find myself appreciating this location the most! The staff here is so friendly and helpful! Sure, all they have to do is keep your drinks refilled and offer suggestions, but I seriously feel like VIP everytime I come here! They have great teamwork and you will get refills from servers that aren’t your own and everyone including the management is constantly checking all tables to make sure everyone is taken care of! For a Carnivore like myself, you really can’t beat this place! Build your own bowl with as much meat and veggies you can fit in there! It’s a great deal and if you don’t like the food you have noone to blame for yourself.

Food was great, waiter failed to get the one item we asked for and then went AWOL for the rest of the meal. Also he kept referring to me as Bossman… When we got the ticket, it was wrong… how do you get 2 people’s meal wrong, I will never know… Food was great… that was the redeeming value…

I’ve always enjoyed the food at Genghis Grill. But their shortsighted management caught me by surprise. I can’t have starch. For several trips, enough to earn free bowls on the reward card, I’ve been advised to fill a second bowl with cabbage as a substitute for the starch. On this trip, even thought I explained the problem, at the end of the meal, I was charged four dollars for the bowl of cabbage. I explained to the manager that the restaurant suggested the accommodation, but he insisted it has always been their policy. I guess they will have to do without this regular customer from now on.
