Ping Beauty Salon

I have been looking for a place like Ping’s ever since I moved back from LA. She is serious about her craft. I’ve been to other spas/​estheticians in the area but they’re all afraid to really into those pores. (Enlarged pores get worse because the oils/​dirt continually expand if left uncleaned.)
If you’re looking for a relaxing spa-​like facial, this is not it. Her space is inside another Asian establishment, so it might be confusing at first.
The service (approx $ 60) includes cleaning, exfoliating, extractions, massage, mask, and serums.
Furthermore, Ping herself is hilarious. Normally, I prefer quiet services where I can just doze off but Ping is like the no-​BS, out spoken older sister you look up to. I left feeling very refreshed aesthetically and emotionally. LOL.
I intend to see her for my monthly maintenance. Highly recommended.

I don’t remember how I discovered Ping’s Beauty Salon but I’ve been coming here for over 5 years. Ping’s super friendly. She doesn’t accept walk-in’s so you’ll have to schedule an appointment but her schedule is pretty flexible.
I come here every 1 – 2 months for deep tissue facials and brow shaping. The deep tissue facials can be painful at times but it’s well worth it. She’s really good at what she does. She has good recommendations for skin care products, which varies per skin type (dry or oily). I instantly feel beauty and youthful.

Sandy and Ping have been doing weddings together for many years, with Sandy in charge of hair and Ping in charge of make up. Our wedding party consisted of the bride and 4 bridesmaids. With a group discount, the prices were $ 58 for bridesmaid hair and $ 65 for bridesmaid makeup.
Since they don’t do home visits, we had to drive to Sandy’s Hair Studio the morning of the wedding. Ping brought her supplies over so that hair and makeup could be done in the same place. Their service was faster than we had expected since there were a couple of hair stylists working at the same time; we finished in less than 3 hours. They had requested for photos of each person’s hair and face prior to the day of the wedding, which may have contributed to the efficiency during the day of our visit.
As for hair, we all had up-​dos. Given my extremely thick hair, I was impressed at the skill required to style my hair in such a way that the hairstyle can hold up throughout the course of the busy day. My hairstyle lasted all day in almost its original condition, until I decided it was time to take it down. All of the girls were happy with the hairstyles that were done for them, and the resulting up-​dos complemented each girl nicely.
They also did a good job on our makeup. It was natural enough that we didn’t look scary when people are standing close to us, unlike some makeup jobs that require heavy makeup for optimal capture by photograph. However, we did look similar enough before and after the make up that I’m not sure it was really worth $ 65. An additional discount would have been nice.
Overall, it was a good experience with Sandy and Ping. I definitely recommend them despite their high prices, considering their prices are lower than a lot of other providers of wedding hair/​make up. They are also experienced with asian hair and makeup, which contributed to good results in the end.

I’ve been going to Ping for over 15 years, she’s never pushy on any products or services, she’ll only recommend what’s best for your skin type and that’s if you ask her. She’s a licensed Esthetician with over 20 years of experience! Aside from facial cleanings and extractions, she’s also an expert on permanent makeup (tattoos). I got my eye liners tattooed 4 years ago, the color is still on and very natural looking, and I’ve received countless complements on it. Ping is very easy to talk to; her positive energy carries on as you walk out of the session. Go see Ping, you will see and feel the difference!!!

When you are a burgeoning young adult and your face is filled with all the signs that you are a burgeoning young adult (aka acne galore) and your mom takes you to see Ping? Miracles do happen. I remember dreading those days my mom took me to see Ping because Ping was a little too darn good at her job and I was just a tad too naïve and unappreciative as a kid, but she cleaned the heck out of my face and I’m 100% certain I have better skin now because my mom forced me to see her then.
I didn’t think Ping was still around and thank goodness she still is and I was still able to find her. She does a host of things, from facial cleanings to extractions, mole removals, and permanent tattooing.
This time, I went to her to have some moles removed. She’s honest in telling you what to expect, what she can and can’t do, and what you should and should not do after treatments (feel good in knowing you won’t feel ripped off/​lied to/​betrayed when you leave). She uses quality machines and products (you’ll see that the products lining her shelf are no dollar store products, they are Japanese and European products). With that said, her price point compared to her knowledge is super affordable.
Talking to her is just like talking to your hair stylist: for some reason you end up spilling your guts and life story and its therapeutic. She can speak with Chinese and English, so not to worry there. She mentioned to me that so many of her clients are like me: went to her when we were younger and keep coming back to her.
She loves what she does, she’s really good at it, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my face/​skin! Thank you Ping!

I reside in New York but come to Ping’s Beauty Salon every time I’m in town. Her shop is very clean and her services are extensive and more than what is offered at standard spas. I’ve been a customer for 15 years and I’ve had my eyebrow and eye liner tattooed and always been very satisfied.
She also has Japanese machines for deep muscle lifting for jaw line and cheeks. She’s also very accommodating and very knowledgeable about the skin at all ages.

Ping’s wonderful! I’ve been getting facials from her for years now. The facial I get are Deep tissue facials! Her deep tissue facials get Everything out! The pore extraction itself can be a bit painful however the exfoliation and massage are extremely smoothing. It’s also totally worth it because my face feels completely renewed when I leave! She’s also extremely accommodating and I’ve booked last minute appointment with her several times. Plus I’ve gotten my eyebrows and eyeliner tattooed here and I’m completely satisfied with how they turned out!

Ping is the most talented and trustworthy beautician I’ve ever met. I go to her for everything.
I’ve been going to Ping for about two years now after being referred by a friend who has been to Ping’s for over 10 years. Her salon is always very clean and relaxing to visit, and unlike most beauticians who are greedy about money, Ping actually cares more about your well being and won’t do things if she doesn’t think it’s in your best interest. In the past two years, I’ve gotten regular facials, extractions, eyeliner and eyebrow tattoos, and even got a mole removed! I have always been extremely satisfied with her service and the outcome of her work.

She did my makeup for prom, graduation and my wedding along with the makeup for my bridesmaids and for me when I was a bridesmaid.
